Monkey Lateral Hop Variations: Locomotion Training

- As spring enters Australia, I've been enjoying being outside and returning to locomotion practice.
Today I experimented with variations to the lateral hop from squat, also known as the Monkey.
Movements can be modified into infinite ways and it's good practice to return to basics and find ways you can make them new.
With simple variations you can create infinite combinations of movement flow.
The idea here is not to copy all the time from what you see on social media, but to play and experiment with what you think may work, to learn yourself.
I construct a more complicated sequence at the end which combines some movements from Capoeira practice and a new one I learnt this week.
Practising sequences help you with transitions and "encode" movements into your brain to a deeper level. Don't always get stuck on working isolated movements!

Thanks for sharing!!
awesome work !!
I fail alot so I must really be learning loads!!
Thank you very much for messing with my mind...these front/back hook turns are driving me crazy. You have at least 100 views from me figuring out where to put my hands & feet
Thank you! This is awesome! Do you have a tutorial for the move at 4:26?
I know it as "thread the needle" or an "underswitch". I can make a tutorial on it in future. I'd suggest working on the low bridge and high bridge in the meantime, if you are strong in those positions you'll be able to pull it off.
In référence of your name passive hang will you show dôme hanging moves or flows for shoulders Health ?
Good idea. There will be one coming in future! Ultimate hanging guide Haha.
Looks like capoeira
