'I've decided I want dad at the wedding.' Honestly sharon was a spoilt brat! she always wanted things her way. And sadly dennis always gave in because he loved her so much. I didn't notice it before but watching these scenes again just made me realise how spoilt she was.
That's not fair. Remember, Sharon spent 14 years believing that Den was dead. Then she finally got her dad back, only to lose him again. Maybe you could call it abandonment issues, but the simple truth is that Den always loved Sharon despite his flaws. It's natural that she would miss him & want his blessing.
@@iluvlafferty it's their wedding not just hers. It should be a mutual decision of who comes and who shouldn't. Even where they live is something that should be mutually decided but with Sharon it was always her making the final call and dennis giving into her wishes. She was spoilt for sure. I'm not denying den's love for Sharon but he sure didn't love her enough to care for her happiness. He tried everything he could to ruin it.
@@Kashish4Eijaz I agree about Dirty Den, but he certainly didn't start out that way. In the early years, he was a protective dad but they made him cruel over Sharon's relationship with Dennis. Having him tell Zoe to pretend she's pregnant to split them up was disgusting. Having said that, the way he was killed and buried under the Vic was not right. Sharon and Dennis loved him and had always wanted him in their lives, despite the trouble he caused.

I believe Dennis would’ve been fine with Den coming were it not for just how vile he was in breaking them up before. Dennis’s abuse was another storyline that there wasn’t time for because 2004 turned into the groundwork to write Den out. He must’ve been terrified of Den doing anything to mess it up, e.g. claim they were related at the lawful impediments part so that they had to be DNA tested to prove that they weren’t. Sometimes a character is out of character to suit the storyline - even for Sharon, wanting Den to give her away was a bit far though I can understand her wanting to find him; for Den, being there and not standing in their way would’ve been massive.

Agree. Den was so cruel to Dennis for those 15 months they knew each other and Sharon never really recognised that fully.
