"Looks like Teach just got tenure!" Everyone talks about Frederick's crit quote (and for good reason) but this one always stuck around in my head after I beat Awakening.
Came just to say this. I've actually said "Looks like Teach just got tenure!" as a joke with friends but honestly, it's great and I'm only half using it ironically. Genuinely my favorite crit quote in the whole game.
Vaike: "uh; guys? Where'd... Where'd my axe go?" Miriel: "Mind you hold still so i can burn the logic into you and maybe you might hold onto your axe?"
To be honest, love Vaike. He's actually bulkier than alot of early Awakening units. With that, access to the hammer, and a solid strength stat, he's one of the only Awakening characters that can, like, do anything in lunatic and lunatic plus without immediately getting murdered Also, seeing counter on a player unit for once here is wonderfully cathartic
I’m glad the discussion of this game isn’t just “Robin S tier, Frederick A tier, everyone else sucks” anymore. I guess once people found someone who could solo lunatic they didn’t think anyone else could do it better.
SHEPHERDS GAMING vaike usually falls behind a bit in my playthroughs because i have so many other awakening favorites but i always feel bad since he’s such a fun character
Goodbye Byleth Vaike is the real Teacher here (I have a fondness for Vaike because in my first IronMan of Awakening he was a Lifesaver and a really good Berserker, unfortunately he died together with Cherche in the penultimate Chapter)
Yeah Vaike is surprisingly great. He gets a lot of good skills to pass down, the highest strength cap, surprisingly remarkable stats (he's great at everything not magic related) and can still last in end game by being a back pack with the brave bow to just delete people. Shame i didn't realize that before my true apotheosis run that would have been fun to use for that.
Holy moly! Someone was ahead of their time. And here I thought all the "Vaike is good actually" started in July 2023 yet Jimmy here was doing it in January 2022. All hail our tenured Teach! Vaike > Robin ;)
I forgot to say this earlier almost a week ago, but ... Technically Vaike is based off Boyd actually. He even has supports with Lissa, who is based off Mist. Some things just never change (Yes, that Boyd from Tellius) But nice Awakening video!
Vaike was always one of my favorites in awakening. Once he hit level 10->make him a brigand, master into berserker. The best part is if I wanted to be particularly op with him, I would stack wrath, vantage, AND counter on him. He and Gregor have such high natural HP growth that they can take a hit from mages to drop into half health. Give ‘em a hand axe and watch em go to town.
I just use the default settings and I cut out a lot of the stuttering I had as well haha, Citra can be pretty hard to run smoothly. I wish I had a better answer for you.
