Hi Jason, another great video. I use Contacta when I have a large joint that I need some working time to get positioned correctly. I was aware of the clogging issue but not the cracking problem.. The cracking might partially come from the fact that the bottle has a left hand thread instead of the expected right hand thread. If someone is trying to remove the cap and turns it to the right, they will actually be tightening it, possibly to the point of cracking the cap. I'll have to pick up some of the glue you are Precision glue and give it a try. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
I have used the revell bottle for many many years and used a piece of wire that is actually longer then the entire needle to close it. That worked perfectly well. The problem you have with the cap is new to me, never had that happen to mine but the quality might have changed. I switched over to Tamiya a few years back as I like the brush a lot better.
Thanks for the tip nozzle cracking. My needle also clogs easily. Now I just put a drop on a glass top and use a toothpick to apple a smaller amount and not waste so much also....
A week before you released this video I decided I'm done with it too. Nozzle blocking and too much coming out at once. I'm going to decant remaining cement and use it for sprue goo. I'm going to try Humbrol precision poly instead. If that gives me similar problems I'll just revert to Tamiya white top.
I've had it with Humbrol. Got their Precision Poly. It arrived with a blocked nozzle. Can I unblock it with the usual methods? No. Then I ordered a bottle of their Liquid Poly. Brand new sealed bottle.......brush inside mangled. About a month previous there was something else, I can't remember what now. I've not had much luck with their brushes either, not in good shape brand new. It seems never ending. Shame really, brand loyalty is a thing to me. But Humbrol have had a fair chance.
Never had the problem with the cap splitting the needle clogs as you say I just take it out and hold it in a lighter flame and all is good again happy modeling everyone 👍
Thanks Jason. I too have "tried" Contacta Professional. Glue is ok...but got super tired of the thing clogging all the time. I'll have to try the Precision Plastic Glue (there should be somewhere here I can get it). Sorry I've not been around for a while. Life has been pretty crazy. Hoping you and yours are well.

@@ModelkitStuff Many thanks. I make up 'toy soldier sets' to give away and I have been recommending the Revell glues, I'll give this lot a go. The non-clogging aspect would make a significant difference! Thanks again for taking the trouble to reply.
Glue in the nozzle only occurs when the bottle falls over or you don’t wipe the tip off after use. I have never had to insert wire much into the applicator to clear it and to date none of my yellow tops has fallen apart. I think my only slight issue, reservation with this glue is that when applying over a bigger area, by time that is completed and you are putting parts together the glue seems to have dried a fair bit. Overall though still a great product, though I have recently been trying Mr Hobby glues. Weird your tops have been breaking like that, maybe an issue with sunlight exposure or recent recycled plastics. I have been using contacta that is a few years old, maybe Revell have changed the tops recently.
I have not had issues either. I always wipe the needle and give the bottle a light squeeze with the needle upright to remove any glue in the tube before putting the cap on. The only time I had a cap break was when I tried removing it before I realised it was a left hand thread. I therefore had over tightened it. Having said that I have moved to Deluxe Materials products as I find them great and like to support British companies where I can.
I have mine for 20 years now I think, the yellow nozzle cap is still in one piece. Maybe it is an old-fashioned quality bottle? I almost never use the product though, it's too thick for my taste.
I wish I’d watched the video before I bought it! The needle nozzle was completely blocked when I opened it. I tried all these tricks, to no avail. A waste of money!

I've had mine since I made a model when I was 8. I just used it again at age 41 and finished the bottle now. Mine never broke.
Been decanting into a jar and using a brush for years for the same reason can even use a fine wire to spot apply for small parts
I’m with you Jason.I’ve never had a bottle break, but the clogging nozzle drives me crazy.
Thanks for the information!
Hi Jason, great week video, thanks for sharing - im all booked up for Telford cya there 😂 cheers Liam

Have no problems with my revell cement. All is good.
Agreed, a great product but the plastic top breaking or perishing is a bit of a faff. Happened to me too. Cheers Jason.
It's got it's place in my glue arsenal. I wipe the tube every time I use it. Never had the lid crack.... not the go to glue but it has it's place.
Never had a problem with the top (other than the clogging issue) - Can you give more info on the new stuff? Not seen it advertised anywhere.

Same problem I had, love the glue but the bottle breaks
Awesome review Jason ❤😊
If you take a knife and trim the threaded end down it won't bottom out on the tip and put pressure on the cap just a tip then it won't break off
I bin the pin lol I find tamiya extra thin a bit hit or miss sometime to lol .

What is the glue that you bought at Telford Jason?
Plastic magic
I've had the nozzle clog up. Anyway, what's the name of product you're using now and where can I get it?
Plastic magic
Is this glue free from frosting
no its a hot glue. try GS Hypo for non gassing
@ModelkitStuff ok thanks
I don’t like it, after gluing, the plastic parts don’t hold together very well. I’ll never buy it again.
I wish I’d watched the video before I bought it! The needle nozzle was completely blocked when I opened it. I tried all these tricks, to no avail. A waste of money!
Sorry to hear that
All the same problems as yourself Jason ,
