Beautiful opening I’m a Londoner but the main way of feeling connected to the city for me is the public transport and sports grounds, so this pretty much felt perfect for getting that sense of life in Melbourne You are a fantastic writer and keep focusing on those personal ordinary people sections
Everytime you open your mouth I get ready for some poetry. And what a poetry this was ! For the people's ground For the Melbourne's ground THE "G". Loved every bit of the video
Simply the most astounding cricket stadium on earth. I treasure the fact that my parents signed me up for MCC membership when I was born. One of my most treasured possessions
Heading in there tomorrow morning, looking forward to it! I’ve been there for shield games, test matches, BBL games, ODI’s, T20s, AFL games, soccer games, concerts… it’s the heart and soul of Melbourne.
I’m from a small town from Lahore, pakistan and somewhat of a cricket nerd tbh and fr one of my lifelong bucket-list things to do has been to travel abroad and specially to places like MCG, LORDS at-least once and just experience the aura of these places that I’ve watched so many times produce spectacles larger than life on screen. There are other sporting venues and places as well that are fascinating but these two are right up on top! Only ground I’ve ever been to is Gaddafi Stadium Lahore to watch a PSL game. Although it turned out to be an all time classic kind of a game where shaheen went nuts for lhr and scored something like 20+ runs in the last over to take the game to a super over, Gaddafi never felt like that magic place to be at initially tbh. Partly may be due to the reason that as a kid i watched my team play more matches in DUBAI stadium than in here. None the less the memory of that experience was a good one and all I have ever wondered since than is that if this place can produce this thrill what heights that magic can reach on a place like the G or Lords or Wonderers for instance.
I don't see India winning at Melbourne. The worst thing that happened in this game was Jadeja scoring runs as this confirms his inclusion for the Boxing Day test. Ashwin is the better bowler for the remaining two tests but he's retired. Simply put, I don't see India having the bowling attack to take 20 aussie wickets. The main difference between the sides during the series is the fact that Australia's top 3 have the ability to take the shine off the new ball by playing the waiting game early on unlike their Indian counterparts. An appearance in the WTC final awaits the defending champs.
because of Corbin Bosch , bavuma may win the Test series in pakistan. I thought he will be exposed but South africa bowlers are nifty. They brought two old bowlers 1989 and 1994. The thing is that they bring right energy for test matches. i do not see South africa losing test series
Not long ago I saw an interesting question by fox sports for what was the biggest spotting event in australia - afl grand final or the boxing day test. people were pretty split. Would be interesting to know your take on it
I know you didn't ask me - but in my opinion it depends on the teams involved. I'd argue that an Ashes Boxing Day Test is the biggest event, but if it was up against a Carlton vs Collingwood AFL Grand Final it might rival it.
Ground is poorly designed with bad sight lines that leaves the crowd a long way from the action. People who love it probably haven't been to a decent cricket ground.
Travelling to Australia for the first time to catch the Boxing Day test at the MCG. Amazing buildup
The MCG is an absolute Collesuem of a cricket ground. The statues and atmosphere are so classically romantic.
Beautiful opening

Great video as always. Speechless.

Jarrod Kimber and Taitset crossover when?
This is the best Jarrod Kimber video. And that is a competitive field.
Beautiful Jarrod. Always feel special hearing fellow Melbournians share their simple yet wonderful upbringings with the rest of the world.
If George Miller makes another Mad Max movie, I want it to feature a post apocalyptic MCG.

What an ode to a legendary stadium
Great one. Quite literary in its nature. would love to see more such episodes with this kind of personal touch.
2:27 zoomed in on Hurstbridge line not Epping line
Thoughtful, touching tribute
I'm devastated to hear Jarrod goes for Collingwood. I wish you a speedy recovery.🙏
When I was moving to Melbourne the first thing I did was to check how I'm going to be able to reach from the place I was going to stay to the MCG.
Splendid narration, incredibly written!

Beautiful narration, Jarod
What a beautiful tribute ❤
The first time I went there, my dad took me for a tour of the sports museum. It was a great day. I highly recommend it.
This sounds like Brisbane with the Ipswich line heading towards Milton (Lang Park)
Watching Shield games at the G now days theres an eerie quiet to it some days there are more players than fans
I remember the Cricinfo article by Jarod circa 2015
Ron McKeown. Ha. That made me laugh. Go pies!!!
this felt personal. good story dude
WHAT AN INTRODUCTION!
My God. Beautiful narration 🎉
Love your work

"Warner is a wnker" also got spat out by the kiwis in 2019.
Not just the Kiwis.
15:52 now play classical gas... By the big light tower
Hi Jarrod, you hardly have an Australian accent for someone who grew up in Australia. :-)
Glad you mentioned EDEN GARDENS.. best stadium in the country
masterpiece mate
I prefer going to the MCG at jolimont, I find it more convenient
I’m going tomorrow for the first time - I can’t wait
Jarrod that's beautiful mate
All the way from England, where was Jerrod in 2010 when the Barmy Army took over Bay 13?
12:12 Dinesh Karthik played AFL?

The Melbourne Cup, no doubt.
Can you make a video for nepali cricket
Hi Jarrod. Never knew you were a pies supporter. Love your content. Go the mighty pies 🖤🤍 Long live cricket 🏏
Nice work Mr Kimber. My only question is this … Are you sure you’re a Collingwood supporter ? You appear to have all your teeth and no convictions.
So, is it big Jarrod?
Nice

Then it's a good thing you've never been there, isn't it?
@@sentimentalbloke185 Been there lots of times. Probably never again though.
@@almango873 You felt a need to say "probably never again".
