  • So with Seadoo announcing their all new next gen Seadoo Spark... we can now see and say pretty confidently, the 900 ace in the Spark is here to stay, on the next gen facelift Spark....which begs the question, does the JetBlaster have a unique opportunity to double down on their current JetBlaster design and maybe even increase the performance, to increase the market split of this lightweight playful PWC.

    Jetblaster if you want to jump it, spark for lighter weight playfulness. Not hard to do a quick tune on the Spark for 110-120 hp. I agree the Blaster has a nicer shape now, just don't like the boring blue on the new one.

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Agree with all of that mate… pretty sure even with the tune is like 2-3mph extra top end and I’m sure that’s only if you you change the impeller, exhaust etc… all the tunes do from what I’ve seen is give it more punch out the hole…the only real solution to get the top end performance at this point is a turbo… but then your going to end up with early life engine failure as putting more strain on it… they just need a higher cc engine… thanks for watching dude 🙏

    I was between the 2 for a while before I made my purchase. Overall, the ease of maintenance and the reliability of yamaha is why I chosen the jetblaster. after about a year and a half and 40 hours, no regrets at all. great fuel mileage, comfortable, lightweight enough to really toss around, extremely fun in the surf. Wish it wheelied like the spark but honestly wouldnt see myself do it much. There are spark guys jumping the waves absolutely killing it, but Im very happy with the jet blaster, it does very well too. Im hoping with a prop, rideplate, intake, already have the exhaust, and a tune will get me to 60mph.
    you are correct about the center console. its not bad, my dry box fits in it well, just wish it had a couple more inches in width and maybe some bow storage instead of the design they went it. overall though good storage when paired with the rear storage bag for anchor and bumpers and what not. great ski though.

      Nice dude, glad you're happy with your purchase choice... I think the reality is which ever your out on the water on, there is pros and cons to them both... like you say if you're not a huge wheelie guy, then the spark maybe isn't as big a deal... that said, the new IBR on the spark with the a new Trixx mode (likely a remap/new tune to give more low end punch) will maybe give the Spark a whole new set of trixxs, still won't give it more top end though... Enjoy your machine dude, thanks for watching 🙌

      lol... this comment made me laugh, more so as because I'm UK, we call 'soccer' Football and 'soccer mums' isn't really a saying over here...nevertheless I get what you're saying... just looks designed for mass market and not got the aggression anymore... must say as well, a lot of the marketing material video footage seemed to be family and more female focused... Megs loves the look of the new design mainly because of the soft pastel colours, which again if you're a dude, isn't hitting the mark as much as a LAVA red for example... I'm sure next year the colours will change and a turbo will be added. There is room for a turbo now on the 1st gen... if the 1630 engine can't fit, next best hope is a turbo, which can!

      Its a tricky one isn't it as the Spark pops out the water better and the 2.0 IBR will maybe improve this further, but for me its the product styling on the GEN 2 Spark which gives the Jetblaster a slight upper hand... that said as my video says I still think the GEN 1 Spark is a better overall package vs the current JetBlaster... the Gen 1 Spark with a bigger engine would have been perfect... but the new product styling is just alittle flat (literally)

      @@classicjetskis first it was the radio that broke and was recalled. It's been 2 years I'm still waiting for the replacement. Second the hull has a leak around the radiator which is a manufacturing defect under the 1 year factory warranty. They tried to repair it 3 times with no luck. Then the horrible service department at BRP Sea Doo won't cover their products under warranty. Now the jet pump has failed and they haven't given me an update it's been in the shop for over 2 weeks now. Buyer Beware of the deceptive sales tactics. Their B.E.S.T. extended warranty is worthless. @classicjetskis  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Where did you read/hear that buddy? Just looked at there official 2024 spec sheet for the spark and says 50mph… the engine is unchanged so not sure how it would have jumped from 50mph to 55mph…
      I did see though on the spec sheet a new trixx mode which will likely give it increased low end torque/punch to pop out of the water easier and likely make wheelies easier… that’s the sort of thing a remap/tune can do already on the current gen 🤷🏻‍♂️ thanks for watching dude 🙏

      @@mikeowentaylor aaaa ok yeh I would take that with a pinch of salt buddy… dealers will always exaggerate the performance to sell new machines… the new spark will be 50-52mph top on perfect conditions… the new trixx mode will just likely be a new tune for that mode to give it more punch low end wise… top end will be unchanged as the trixx mode is for just the trixx low speed riding style… when you cruise top speed you would be in sport anyway…

      @classicjetskis it does the same and acceleration as a 170 gtx. The dealer weighs 285lb and rode one from seadoo and it did 55. Idk if their models are tuned up or anything compared to sell models

      @@mikeowentaylor dude if it’s 55 then that’s good, I’m just saying that sounds like classic dealer BS. If you use logic and the facts we have based on the launch info and spec sheets for 2024zzzI’m just saying that doesn’t make sense why A) seadoo didn’t make that claim in that main launch video ( as that’s a 5mph increase which is strong USP to sell the new machines. B) it’s the identical 900 90hp ace engine and C) no dealers have rode them yet as there’s been no official press days for dealers to test… even if it does 55 that’s still not the 60mph everyone was asking for… fyi accelerating like a GTI doesn’t excite anyone, I would actually say the current feeing of acceleration in the current (old spark) is better than the heavier GTI… if you also think logically the spec sheets all state the new spark is still 90hp so how in the world would it give anywhere near a 170hp performance curve…
      I love your optimism but for now I would still stick with a gsx which is a 60-62mph ski all day long 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I had a brand new 1992 Kawasaki 750 SS and I prefer its small size, weight, and styling. Wish there was a compact modern version of that ski. Although you could not have two people on it and pull a third.

      @classicjetskis  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey buddy! Dude, that 1992 Kawasaki 750 SS sounds epic! I must admit most of my knowledge is with the Seadoos and Yams, but the Kaws from that period are cool for sure also... I really want a X2....Totally get what you mean about its small size, weight, and styling, thats kind of the same across the board, the X4 XP from Seadoo and Blaster 1/2 from Yam, your never going to get a modern day ski as small and tippy as that, as most modern riders want compliance in the ride... thats what makes the old stuff still so popular to ride as there is nothing modern thats quite the same.
      Wouldn't it be awesome if they made a truly compact modern version? Imagine all the nostalgia with some updated tech! Sure, you couldn't fit two people and pull a third, but sometimes it's all about that solo ride. Here's hoping they bring something like that back someday! Thanks for watching🌊🚤

    Odd to see you doing a video focusing on newer skis, when your channel is about the classics. Lol.
    I got attacked on a Sea-Doo group where they called my 95XP ugly...lol. The 95XP has more sexy smooth curves than the plastic boxy Spark.
    Seriously. These newer skis dont have the sexiness of the older fiberglass hulls.
    When a 95 XP 717cc 85HP has the same speed as a new Spark, and it has better sexy curves with a solid stronger hull..why would anyone choose a Spark?

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Dude chill, my channel is still 2 stroke focused but at this present time with Seadoo’s latest 10 year announcement/anniversary of the Spark, there was/is a lot of eyeballs that thought a bigger 130hp 1630 motor would be put in the Spark...at which point it would have been a 60-65mph ski, which coupled with the extended VTS... you have to acknowledge the merits...
      You don’t have to explain to me about the old skis, I have 8 of them and love them, but also very aware that to inspire and grab interest of a wider audience, you have to also pay attention to the greater landscape of PWC... think of it this way, the more attention I can generate to my channel, the more people seeing my old 2 stroke content, that wouldn’t have ordinarily searched for say, a ‘1995 xp’. The way TH-cam algorithm works is geared towards trending topics... my Spark video I posted yesterday is already my fastest watched video in that time period, as people are searching about the Spark. Off the back of that, I have had 23% more views on other 2 stroke videos... all roads lead to 2 stroke dude.
      If you listen closely in my video breakdown, I talk about how the GSXL and XP still outperform the Spark to this day. The angle is always coming from what’s great about old 2 strokes... ignoring the Spark isn’t a solution as there are many new enthusiast that don’t have the lucky childhood of growing up and knowing about the 2 strokes... most riders my age don’t even know about a XP or GSX etc... By me making comparisons and talking about Sparks, it’s a gateway to my content.
      Interesting what you say about the Spark... I prefer the original gen 1, I love the angular design... I guess the new Spark soft design is more up your street then, if you love the soft flowing lines of the 1995.... Me personally, I love the 4th gen XP aesthetic more, but obviously if we are talking about hull, then the 1995 is so much funnier.
      Have a watch of my other Spark video as I talk about the GSX and XP.
      Thanks for watching and do get your point, but just be mindful to grow you have to grow your audience...

As for the JetBlaster, their speaker system across the board has always felt like a rip of the BRP ones to me (sorry Yam fans). That being said, from my understanding the Yamaha JetBlaster speakers are portable, so you can take them off...
