Seiko was the watch of choice for James Bond for many of the films in the 70s/80s as far as I know. They were really showing off the digital watches at the time. Japan was coming into its own as a powerhouse of production and Seiko established itself as a direct and worthy competitor to Rolex.
@@JustBlueFish It is hard to find! I have been looking all over eBay and haven't had any luck. I wish the newer model had that gorgeous looking bracelet and not a jubilee.
@@JustBlueFish The plating has really held up well. I had a similar Timex and the bracelet dropped to bits. I would have people ask me 'is that a fake Rolex? I would say 'No it is a genuine Timex'.
The context of your review is great but I must say that I'm disappointed in the amount of work you put into this. Granted the watch doesn't represent a lot of collector interest, but you didn't watch even a few minutes of the movie, didn't know a lot about the background (you said), didn't check the lume, assume a mineral crystal. I don't mean to be overly negative, but its not up to your usual standards. You just didn't seem to want to make this episode.
It’s a $50 watch from 1985 there’s not much info on it available to reference. As for the Bond connection, I apologize but I don’t like those movies, no interest in watching it.

Could I get some help on the battery what model is it
My dad has the all gold version of this watch. Maybe I'll have to search for one of these myself.
I was shocked to see the thumbnail has the exact day and date of my watch , wearing one ofc
Great presentation...great to see some quartz vintage. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Craig!
+1, let's see some more vintage quartz!
@@JustBlueFish do you know how much the gold version is worth by any chance
I just added a 116234 all steel date just 36. Fluted bezel Tuxedo dial roulette date jubilee bracelet. I love it!
Great choice, love that watch.
Video starts at 2:52.
Still hav an Elgin day date on a Jubilee bracelet,I purchased in the earlier 80’s ,changed the battery short time ago, still running strong..
I bought a slightly older version of this watch, and I'm a bit concerned with how much I love it. Ballin' on a budget for sure. Nice review.
Seiko was smart to copy a classic design!
Does anyone know where this watch can be purchased...? I can’t find one on EBay.
The one in the video was in production in 1985, so it's hard to find one, but here is a current model that is very similar: amzn.to/3fxpvF2

Very cool watch I have that one currently as well....always looks good.
Thanks I appreciate the support. I’d like to do a Pelagos video but I haven’t been able to find one to borrow yet. But I’m trying!
@@JustBlueFish ..very cool, do you know of anyone who is a Seiko 6105 8119 expert ?
Apprently they used real gold on the plating back then so that explains the longevity
I have a Seiko alarm 18k plated form 85.
awesome review and presentation !! thanks for the review !!!
Thanks Eric! You gotta come on and do a live stream with me soon still.
@@JustBlueFish anytime you want i will be there
