I love how Mark’s mindset is “I’m just the window guy, it’s not my problem” as he hears and sees people being murdered
it's called survival instinct, mark's got it in spades
@@seymourbuttz6419 but he died.
And then it *became* his problem.
@@lunarose2529 because the janitor is always the first person in the slasher flick to get killed
Congratulations. You understood the funny thing he was going for the whole video…
I love how mark was so distracted by the firefly he didn’t notice the ominous shadow figure watching him by the fountain and that is such a mood
I didn't either lol
I was wondering what the firefly was meant to draw the eye to lol
and he was so focused on cleaning the window that he didn't see the shadow figure walking up the stairs :,)
@@infestedribcage i hate i didnt notice those two times but i noticed when there was a something moving toward him (basically when HE noticed)
May I has a timestamp?
I really wanted the twist to be that the window cleaner was the murderer's accomplice. Like you finish the last window and he's waiting in the truck all like "jobs done, let's get out of here bro".
it's possible given how the cleaner made no effort to warn the people (and there's also the fact that orange was seemingly killed alongside the cleaner)
The murderer is killed by the family, so not sure how he would be in the truck
There need to be more horror games were your the monster. I’ve seen the premise in a few games, but there needs to be more.
@@Mawyman2316 same way the window cleaner didn't come out alive.
I genuinely thought that *that's* what the twist would be the entire time
This is honestly a really fun concept, a minimum wage worker sees horror stuff happening, ghosts & serial killers & what-not, and the worker is like "Look, I'm here to clean the toilets, I'm not being paid to deal with Jason Kruger."
If done right, that'd be a good horror comedy & I'm glad Mark play these kinds of indie horror games rather than big AAA titles.
And the fact that “Jason Kruger” wasn’t even the villain, but just another victim, is the cherry on top.
There's a bit of that in Viscera Cleanup Detail. You're not paid to judge Santa's murder rage of all his helpers and reindeers. You're just here to clean up everything.
Willy's Wonderland (FNAF-like movie with Nicholas Cage) is actually kind of in this vein. There is an entire scene where he's about to absolutely wreck an animatronic, but his watch beeps for break time and he he literally just turns around and walks away to take his break.
Be even better if the monster *lets the player go*.
After all, they keep the place clean without giving any lip or telling the authorities! That's damn good service! Maybe even worthy of a tip!
It's like your living with a ghost that tries to tell you to leave and so then you force the ghost into a candle lit trap and talk to them telling them that the housing market is terrible and the fact your sleeping on a air mattress and the house has dollar store furniture about as the ghost understands that maybe being dead isn't so bad.
It's actually really smart of the developers to force the player to turn away every now and then and make subtle changes and jump scares. Very simple but effective!
E
Yeah it is really cool
The fact that Markiplier, in all of his years of gaming, still gets amazed by something as simple is basic fluid physics makes me smile.
I haven't gotten to the part you mean yet but good fluid physics is always something to be impressed by.
Edit: yeah that's impressive
I mean, I've been a fan of animation for a long time but I'm still excited about pure epic and good animation, so I get it
I mean if the game is basic and has no bugs it’s very fun
i feel the same way but with vfx, even though ill watch corridor crew a lot its still fascinating to me
I'm young and am floored by how far graphics have come (started on a PS2 Slim). I imagine for mark who's a lot lot older it's even crazier a jump lol
For once, this jumpscare feels earned. Got real lured into a false sense of security even when I normally shore myself up for it in the face of something spooky. Wore me down enough to not care when I saw the masked people in the window. Ten outta ten. Got me good.
Agreed
Same, I was so lured in with the last window still to be cleaned that i didn't see that jumpscare coming. Even let out a small scream, wich is a first for me.
Legitimately jumped for the first time in a hot minute
i had a glass of water in my hand and i spilt it everywhere 😭
This is the first time a jumpscare has gotten me in a VERY long time
As someone who was a window cleaner for 7 years:
1. I wish they cleaned that easy
2. You would never clean windows at night.
3. You end up seeing a lot of stuff going on through the windows, but you just have to learn how to pretend you don’t see what’s going on. Retirement homes gave me some ptsd for sure.
With Marks obsession with power washing and horror, this is such a perfect mix
Me looking at my messy room: there's nothing more terrifying than cleaning :D
@@luchirimoyathe real psychological horror
Now that would be an interesting premise of a game. Maybe a cleaning service that specializes in "real messes" where hints in the game dialogue and context clues in the houses they clean reveal the secret on who's been "making a mess."
@@41tinman41like Viscera Cleanup Detail?
@@ghoultooth i mean sure, but i meant that the player character themselves has a secret. like you wonder why they're so comfortable cleaning up after these massacres and how they're so good with it.
Markiplier saying “my name is Markiplier” feels refreshing everytime
Markiplier is very polite and introduces himself each time. Would 💯hire him to clean my windows.
Hello everybody my name is welcome
It will one day become the bittersweet sound of nostalgia.
I'm gonna be honest I thought this was a power washing simulator video
I fcking love him xD
I love that this culti/murder family's whole idea relies on a window cleaner
1. Not questioning blood on all the windows
2. Not caring about a literal break in
3. Not caring about watching people get murdered
4. Not caring about watching them drag the corpses up to the attic where he keeps moving
I'll even go the extra step and say the kid waving to the window cleaner is the biggest red flag to get out because these people aren't normal.
When was there a kid waving to the window cleaner
@Lego_hq_21 it was like one of the first five windows the kid was playing on his phone and waves to mark then mark waved back
@@kidrocker96 ooooh that kid
why is that not normal. if your parents hired a window cleaner and that person was cleaning your window, but you hadn't met them yet and saw them cleaning while playing games on your phone... waving "hello" and returning to your game seems normal to me... unless you normally run outside and stab the cleaner or walk up to the window and stare at them menacingly without acknowledging their existence. hm. i guess it depends on the type of existence we lead.
See, I figured the premise of the game is that you're a _black market_ window cleaner specializing in cleaning bloodstains off windows, and that's why your character doesn't give a damn about the very obvious murder evidence going on right in front of them.
"They were luring window cleaners to their DEATHS!" seems like a much lazier premise.
I like to imagine that there's screaming, stuff being broken or thrown out the window (crowds are starting to form because of the noise) police has been called and then you just see Mark in the background humming to himself as he wipes down the windows.
the fact that this is totally what mark would do 😭😭
Mark calling a firefly a butterfly was funnier that it should've been 😆

That was actually a pretty well done scare, since they set the expectation there's one more window and whatever will happen will happen then.
The absolute scariest part is that they grab you when there's one window left to clean
Markiplier’s cleaning service. We love the company.
WE LOVE THE COMPANY, THE COMPANY
Yes!
Slog
Lethal Company reference XD
WE LOVE THE COMPANY, THE COMPANY
I love the extra window that wasn't cleaned, it gives off the feeling that it won't end yet because there's one more window to clean. It makes the jump scare a lot better.
Ofc, that's a trope on its own in horror now. So it's almost more surprising when it *is* the last thing to do that causes the jump scare. Almost.
I read this in advance and the jump scare still made me throw my phone 😭
I like how our character has dialog yet completely ignoring the murder which kind of implies he's truly as profesional as Mark.
12:40 "Where'd the knife go? NOT MY PROBLEM."
Mark not minding whatever goes on in the inside of the house is peak overworked and underpaid worker embodiment!
Markiplier: *says that he's a good guy and a hero in the games*
Also Markiplier: *casually lets this family get murdered without batting an eye*
Actually, the murderer was the one who got got, you can see his mask, they sacrificed him too, love the idea of “you broke into the wrong house” don’t you?

How kind of the family to bring Markiplier in the home to personally thank him for such a job well done and how professionally he cleaned their windows. What nice people.
They even gave him a hug!
That beautiful smile too
Just to find out that Mark was partially right about the Murder Orgy is hilarious. It wasn't an orgy but a murder party, but still hilarious.
It would’ve been hilarious if after he watched the lightning bug and turned back toward the window there was a jump scare😂😂10:47 he missed the dude run past the window while talking😅

I love how Mark is so relaxed cleaning the windows while people are apparently being killed in the house.
it was actually the dude who you see break in get murdered. you see the whole family alive at the end, so if you put two and two together...
I’d love to see a game like this where its creepy and builds up but then *nothing* happens and you’re just left confused asf
Not to spoil it but this description kind of fits “gone home”
And then something also interesting is getting a second part of the game you described and but it does something to you this time
Shadow of the Colossus, though it's not horror. But now that you mention it, it could be very fun not to be the main victim in a horror game, and just stumble upon people meeting their demise occasionally.
@@spacenaves Omg yes lmao just chilling doing groceries and stumble upon a murder scene but plot twist is nothing actually happens to you but it builds tension like you’re being followed but then nothing happens
Biggest horror of all? Not being able to clean that very last window.... xD
Mark: *gets taken and killed by cultist*
Also Mark: “Not My problem”
ive always loved the odd trope in some games where the main character you play as is completely oblivious to everything, it happens a lot in indie horror and its so silly i love it

How do they manage to consistently have bloodstains on the outside of every single window of the entire building? That is actually impressive
They have a powerwasher with blood instead of water and just run it on low pressure to cover all the windows
edit: nvmd looks like they just paint it on
@@elmobently6413 Yes but if you just want a reason to get window cleaners to go there you don't need all the windows to be bloodied.

i LITERALLY threw my phone at my face 😂😂
I shut my eyes lol
sameeee the game gave you the illusion of safety and the jumpscare is real.
14:40 i was expecting to be bodies in there, because irl i was like “UH OHH UH OHHHHHHH OH NOOOO”😭
The game seems to imply that the outside/shadow-y figure is actually a past victim of the family trying to take vengeance and that's a really clever way to tie things together and find something that can spook the player outside the house
I once worked window cleaning, this was... partially nostalgic.
It seems relaxing
i see....you want to expand on that?
@@ct11cbk That bit where he had to spray twice? Very much a thing. The water simulation was about spot on too. Also, totally normal stuff looks oddly unsettling from the outside. As for the bodily fluids... Still not as hard to clean off as old old tape.

7:14 The amount of water never changed and suddenly it's empty. Making it go down with each spray ruins the story if people spray too often or too few, but the water level could have gone down gradually per window instead.

Mark seems like the type of person to witness a murder but not even going to investigate it further, he just says to himself, "If me go near murder me die!"
Or I wonder if he’d be like he was in this game, he’d clearly see something was going on and then he’d be like “ not my business” and walk away.
