Mid 80s to mid 90s wwf had all the heels. You had DiBiase Jake the snake Rick rude roddy piper undertaker for characters. Then as for worker heels you had ric flair randy savage Mr perfect. Man what a great time. (That's not including all the monsters hogan slayed.) That's why wwf boomed
Lol i take it this interview was done in the late 90s early 00s. If hes saying that about the wrestling between 97-03 I can only imagine what he thinks about wrestling in 2020
Great interview, but does anyone know when it took place? DiBiase refers to Ric Flair as “a 50 year-old man,” and mentions Malenko and Chris Jericho as young, talented guys with potential that he’d like to work with. Flair is 71 as I write this, so this has to be at least as far back as 2010, right? Oh, and he mentions Virgil as currently getting a push as a cowboy? Anyone remember when that happened?
Oh dear. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or are dreadfully out of the loop. After WCW, Virgil started working the convention circuit. On top of demanding money from fans for literally everything you could think of, he would also dupe conventions, themselves. He is known to promise appearances of Ted DiBiase and Himself, however on the day only he would show up and say there was a schedule conflict or some such. In truth, Ted had no knowledge of anything and Virgil was using his name to get a booking and a featured spot. The result was Ted looked like he was ditching appearances and screwing fans, and the convention looked like it was providing false advertising. Wrestling with Wregret did a pretty decent piece on him if you're interested on Virgil after the limelight. There's also a plethora of memes out there to choose from.
Velius Right, I get that. I’ve read a ton of shady Virgil stories myself, pretty much all of them after his wrestling career. I was just thrown by the whole “getting a push as a cowboy” thing. Once in a while, you’ll read something about Virgil being a good guy, but the vast, vast majority is shady shit like you just said.
He's right about finishers today; there really are none. Everybody "miraculuosly" recovers from a Finisher and plows on. You can't figure out the end of a match; you have to check the clock to see how much time they have.
What he said about Benoit was the same thing Stone Cold said; he worked, AT TIMES, too fast. And that was & is the only knock I've ever heard about Chris...
@@skinnypippen9580 He had a GREAT match one night on RAW with Benoit, where he took TEN belly to back suplexes from Chris. Plus they had good matches in WCW.
Somebody, please answer this....... During a wrestling match when the wrestlers are punching and kicking each other the referee starts yelling at them and counting 1,2,3,4 and then the wrestler stops for a min. Is this because technically the wrestlers are supposed to be doing *JUST* that? Wrestling? They are just lenient and don't disqualify for the punches unless it somehow someway went insanely out of hand I'm guessing? Lol!
Firstly, none of it is real and the count is purely for effect. It’s to give the audience the belief that a) the referee is actually there to adjudicate, and b) that the moves are real. In reality neither are true, and the ‘matches’ were always choreographed to some extent. The count was used when moves such as choke holds (the Undertakers for example), or other moves that were likely to cause permanent injury if used for a prolonged time were performed. But you’ll notice that elbows on to their opponents throat from the top rope were perfectly fine.
@@darrenmaclaren5352 what? None of it is real? Choreographed matches?! This can’t be. Wait a minute, is that why Mr. McMahon still acted like he was hurt after a botched stunner at Wrestlmania? P.S. Question not answered, smart *ss
Enjoy! Let me know what you guys think!
Best heel of all time. Absolutely one of my all time favorite wwf superstars

No, McMahan gets that
He should've had a legit WWF world championship reign, even if it would've been a brief transitional run.
Nothing worse than an intro at 10000% volume and the actual interview at 25%
Lol soo shitty
Ted DiBiase and Ric Flair. 2 of the best heels ever.
Ted DiBiase never B.S. when he commenced commentating
I find it incredibly amusing that Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is responsible for both the name Vincent and Virgil 🤣
Wowww yea
80s had the best heels (WWF). Million Dollar Man, Randy Savage, Piper, Orndoff, Orton, Andre, Rick Rude, Rick Martel
The one and ONLY undisputed million dollar champion!
He should have beaten Hulk for the title. Vince you should have put the belt on the million dollar man at least once.
technically dibiase is a former wwf world champion. even was announced and defended the title.
Million dollar belt was cooler anyway! Everybody's got a price! ha ha ha ha
Agree SHOULD have held that main belt more
WWF was not the NWA. It was about drawing money.
I totally agree.. and he should have put Hogan to sleep with the Million Dollar Dream.
Cuts off right as Ted was about to put over my all time favorite, Terry Gordy.
Lol i take it this interview was done in the late 90s early 00s. If hes saying that about the wrestling between 97-03 I can only imagine what he thinks about wrestling in 2020
And Virgil in 2020 😅
I can imagine how good the promos would have been between the million dollar man and the rock had they both been active in the same era
Ric vs Ted a great bloody old school match on Mid-South TV, Ric still in sport in 2021.
Ted always enjoyed this man & he is correct no rhyme & reason like in the old days
Thanks for the video, OUTSIDE THE ROPES
He's a great interview!
My very first favorite wrestler of all time
I’m guessing this was 99 or 2000 based on what he said about Benoit and Dean
This is an old interview and hes describing the ring work today

@P McGill That makes sense. Thank you!
The "Loyal as they come" comment about Virgil was a dead tiveaway this was an old, old interview for me
@@FEARSWTOR why was that comment in particular a "dead giveaway"? whats virgil done since to be disloyal?

Man, this man is a legend... Even though he was primarily a heel, he has too much charisma for me to NOT like him.
Yea the Polka dots works
So true about realism
But when this interview was done wrestling did have realism
Ted is a shoot heel lol literally reverse Robin Hood.
"No rhyme or no reason."
What he said about Benoit was the same thing Stone Cold said; he worked, AT TIMES, too fast. And that was & is the only knock I've ever heard about Chris...
Austin was too injured to work with such a talent like Benoit!

WOW, this is an old one. You should put the original date in the title. This is from the late '90's
Mike who
what year was this interview from?
I hated his laugh! The best bad guy ever!
His laugh was awesome
