The description is slightly inaccurate. If you give away Kuro's Charm, not only does chip damage through blocks, but enemies have higher posture, health, and do more damage. I'm doing a run where I gave away the charm and enemies are stronger than before.
marcis arn I think that might be true too. I have been noticing more varied attacks from the basic enemies, though that could just be from them surviving longer.

Leaping kicks is super useful. Whenever an enemy does a sweeping unblockable (red kanji attack) use the kick instead of jumping and you’ll do a massive amount of posture damage. High monk does a little more I think. Edit: Always finish videos before commenting. Didn’t know he got told.
If you've already beaten the game, you can play subsequent NG playthroughs without Kuro's charm. I just did this same run but on NG the other day. A bit harder IMO because in the the early game you really have shit damage and posture
You can give Kuro's Charm back in New Game. The only trigger is entering NG+ with any save file for the first time. It's way fuckin' harder too, at least in my opinion. The chip damage combined with extremely limited healing is brutal.
I didnt truly appreciate these no dmg/no death with no charm runs until I got to ng+ and tried it. The chip dmg is brutal and one missed perfect parry could mean death
I really don't get how these runs are hard at all, deflecting is dirt easy. The way I saw it when i started this game is that if I don't deflect, its useless. You take more posture damage from blocking, it doesn't interrupt the enemy attack patterns, and it fucks up my pattern recognition because I got so used to interrupting enemy attacks on the first hit.
It feels good to complete sekiro NG+ with no charm and demon bell, seriously not bragging it really is a good feeling when you get through the game people should try it
I also did my second playthrough with Demon’s Bell and without Kuro’s charm. It really teaches you to deflect or else you’re always getting hit. By the time I realized that I breezed through the game no problem.
2:29:15 don't know what game you are playing but for me at NG+ (Hard Mode) even without bell demon he chops half of my health with one slash. Maybe latest patch is even harder.
Just got my Platinum Trophy in this game the other day. Its amazing how much better you get throughout playing it. On my first playthrough the final boss took me 4 hours. On NG+ he took me ~1 hour. And on NG++ I took him (and the demon of hatred) down first try.
@@TheJbiz84 The Shura ending was the last thing I did. Learning a new boss fight on NG+3 wasn't the easiest thing. The Isshin fight during that ending got a lot easier once I remembered that I have the fire shield.^^
Lobos, is Sekiro cheese all bosses run happening? A lot of the bosses are very cheesable, and these runs are always my favorite. Even if some bosses are well made, you could probably still cheese them with ash/firecracker

Was waiting for this run. I played without Kuro's until recently when I hit O'rin and somehow she gave me way more trouble than ever before. One wrong block and your posture is gone; gotta train on that one a bit. Also never knew the passage to the demon bell was already open. I was sure you'd have to open it/trigger it from the other side first. I'm assuming you can't actually take the elevator to Ashina castle, though. Will have to give that a try later.
No, you can't take the Elevator. This path is closed. You come from a different way when you pass through the Headless Cave -> It's not a shortcut unless you open it from the other side.
You can do kuro’s charm in the first Playthrough!!!! I am as we speak, so i have a Playthrough completed, I didn’t go into NG+ and did a new save but started with the charm anyways, I don’t know if this is known or not but I’m serious, and if no one believes me, tell me how to send a screenshot from PS4 to y’all.
The English voices are fine. It just has a different feel to it because of the inherent qualities of the language. Sounds like they enjoyed doing their voices too. They definitely didn't slack off.
I wish For Software would allowed for us to keep the bell d bell in inventory so we could turn it off and on instead of having to go all the way to the tower
@Occult Claymore Nope. I tried to do no kuro's charm on ng+ while I was getting my achievements. Gave up when I kept getting one shot by snake eyes' grab. Getting the charm back allowed me to tank a grab and one more hit, so it definitely ups their damage as well

I *HATE* the English voice performance for O'Rin. The emotions of the Japanese actress project sadness and desperation, i.e., the states of emotion that precipitated her insanity. The English actress just sounds deranged. So one-dimensional. I'm not going to shit on Lobos for getting blasted by her though. She absolutely wrecked me for nearly an hour when I did the Bell+Kuro run.
I think some people think it sounds "better" in foreign languages because it sounds exciting and "exotic" to them. Like in a language you're really familiar with, it sounds more plain and less exciting as a side-effect of the familiarity. Just like with anime and everything else, it's all just a personal preference thing. I love watching/playing things in English because I deeply enjoy the language itself, but I do love other languages too. That said, Japanese and Spanish both sound amazing in this :D
And, well, in Sekiro japanese voiceover makes sense since it takes place in Japan. And jp voiceover is the original, unlike souls games, so that probably also have something to do with this.

I think it would be better to start a fresh new game and give away the charm and activate the bell tower. that way you dont have the increased health, skills and whatnot from previous playthroughs

Yes, you have aleady learnt how the bosses attack and how to kill them. With this difficulty sekiro become the hardest from software game but someone who has playtroughed the game this cant be big challange
Nomoturtle ichimonji double for sure. None of the arts are great, though some certainly have uses for cheese (try shadowrush for fire isshin sometime), but the ichimonji is almost always useful. I found that, especially in the higher ng+s, while the damage is nothing special you can weave an ichimonji into pretty much every straight up fight and reset your posture bar. May not matter to players like lobos who perfect parry constantly, but I tend to block about as often as I land the parry, and the posture reset is a god send. Let’s me stay in everyone’s face constantly.
@@astrayl Ooh, I'll give shadowrush a try next I play, thanks. And yeah, ichimonji is a good shout. The posture reset is a godsend. I used the heck out of it too, though it's vulnerability turns me off it, but yeah, with the right opening, I agree. I liked the leaping kicks one from the monk tree. Whenever I jump over the sweep attacks, for whatever reason I usually miss the head-jump, but the drop kick in the leaping kicks actually deals the same posture damage as the head-jump and works pretty much all the time. I don't even jump over them anymore, just use the combat art. The follow up attacks are also speedy enough to generally be safe (excluding the last hit, bit it's cancellable). It looks bloody cool too.
Nomoturtle yeah it’s def cheesy, but you can stay at a middle distance to him, shadow rush, hit him twice in the air, and get out before he attacks. He won’t dodge it, or retaliate really. It works on both his forms. So if you’re having tons of trouble in a high ng or something it’s an option. Even when you run out of emblems, the stab portion always hits if he’s in his dodge stance.
Really makes parry spamming a feature of the past. Doing a no kuros charm + Bell on a fresh game because if you have a NG+ save you get the charm on new game saves. Super fun.

It looks like lobos is intentionally choosing to use ichimonji instead so he can reset his posture and inflict a decent bit of vitality damage. Yes the posture damage on the sweep counter is good, but until you chip their health down a little they regain their posture too quickly for it to be worthwhile unless it will either push them into deathblow territory or close enough that you can break it with a single rushdown. As for why others don't seem to use it as much I would wager that most people tend to jump either back and away or to the side out of reaction instead of neutral jumping so they can get that kick off. At the very least its something I had to learn to adjust to.
Am I the only one who really dislikes the English VO? EDIT: and I say this as someone who generally prefers the English VO, despite loving how Japanese sounds
English VO is pretty bad, but the German VO is even worse. Gyoubu and the dude in front of Ashina Castle giving the speech sound amazing in English, while they seem to just be reading off a script in the German VO. And Japanese is the best, of course, considering the amount of emotion packed into the dialogue, even if you don't understand the language itself.
Am I the only one who doesn't understand why people play in Japanese if they don't understand the language? It sounds completely fine in English and you don't have to read the subtitles which can detract from gameplay, like during an execution

Are you sure the extra vitality and damage aren't due to you being in a later playthrough?

Harbinger of science it’s 6 hours long for one so no foul but for a player in NG plus he should know that.
It got patched out. Now it doesn't do much.. But still a better option than jump.

With this difficulty sekiro become the hardest from software game but someone who has playtroughed the game this cant be big challange

Nomoturtle ichimonji double for sure. None of the arts are great, though some certainly have uses for cheese (try shadowrush for fire isshin sometime), but the ichimonji is almost always useful. I found that, especially in the higher ng+s, while the damage is nothing special you can weave an ichimonji into pretty much every straight up fight and reset your posture bar. May not matter to players like lobos who perfect parry constantly, but I tend to block about as often as I land the parry, and the posture reset is a god send. Let’s me stay in everyone’s face constantly.

And yeah, ichimonji is a good shout. The posture reset is a godsend. I used the heck out of it too, though it's vulnerability turns me off it, but yeah, with the right opening, I agree.
I liked the leaping kicks one from the monk tree. Whenever I jump over the sweep attacks, for whatever reason I usually miss the head-jump, but the drop kick in the leaping kicks actually deals the same posture damage as the head-jump and works pretty much all the time. I don't even jump over them anymore, just use the combat art. The follow up attacks are also speedy enough to generally be safe (excluding the last hit, bit it's cancellable). It looks bloody cool too.
Nomoturtle yeah it’s def cheesy, but you can stay at a middle distance to him, shadow rush, hit him twice in the air, and get out before he attacks. He won’t dodge it, or retaliate really. It works on both his forms. So if you’re having tons of trouble in a high ng or something it’s an option. Even when you run out of emblems, the stab portion always hits if he’s in his dodge stance.

Really makes parry spamming a feature of the past. Doing a no kuros charm + Bell on a fresh game because if you have a NG+ save you get the charm on new game saves. Super fun.
@@mranorcross1 It really forces you to master the techniques you've been learning over the entire game all the way up to Sword Saint. Im gonna do my no kuro charm play through at some point...

It looks like lobos is intentionally choosing to use ichimonji instead so he can reset his posture and inflict a decent bit of vitality damage. Yes the posture damage on the sweep counter is good, but until you chip their health down a little they regain their posture too quickly for it to be worthwhile unless it will either push them into deathblow territory or close enough that you can break it with a single rushdown. As for why others don't seem to use it as much I would wager that most people tend to jump either back and away or to the side out of reaction instead of neutral jumping so they can get that kick off. At the very least its something I had to learn to adjust to.

The English vo is so bad
English VO is pretty bad, but the German VO is even worse.
Gyoubu and the dude in front of Ashina Castle giving the speech sound amazing in English, while they seem to just be reading off a script in the German VO.
And Japanese is the best, of course, considering the amount of emotion packed into the dialogue, even if you don't understand the language itself.
I’ve quite enjoyed the English VO so far. The horse dude’s screams in particular were fun!
Am I the only one who doesn't understand why people play in Japanese if they don't understand the language? It sounds completely fine in English and you don't have to read the subtitles which can detract from gameplay, like during an execution
