I quit at 19 for the same reason, everyone else is enjoying this and I should to but it makes me feel worse and weighs me down more. Horrible feelings.
Sounds like they made it by repeated needle drops while sampling with a tape echo or delay on the front end in an attempt to pull another sample altogether or they resampled a loop then chopped it. The "sky" part of the lyric comes before the " well I often wonder why" part. Unbroken Chain is the bomb one of Jerry's best solos imo dude plays like an alien on that track. Really cool these guys sampled that song
Most people don't get it. I've tried talking about Animal Collective and so many people just shrug it off, and you can tell that they can't understand it because they can't even begin to listen to it without judging and critiquing it. So many people are afraid of being weird, and not many people are open-minded enough to enjoy Animal Collective. You can't be a passive listener to music and fully appreciate Animal Collective. You have to be ready to take that shit in.
@@IFeelSoTongueTied I do think they are not that weird as well, however, I know only one person who does not find them weird in real life and does not mind Animal Collective playing, so it says something. I think that if someone is not that into music and only listened to very classic genres, they can find it hard to receive such music at first.
Same, hits me a lot harder than it used to lol, funny how music can bring up extremely obscure emotions even if the lyrics really dont have anything to do with the feeling you get, just a big smile is the result
I love this band but how do they compare to: 1) A good whisky (or whiskey)? 2) The company of good friends around a camp fire in the lake district? 3) Knowing that tomorrow you have nothing to do? There is no need to compare. Sometimes you can simply like all the choices. Sometimes you can listen to the Animal Collective while drinking whisky around a fire with friends, in the lake district, knowing that tomorrow is another day. Sometimes I like different things for different reasons.
Love the addition of the Phil Lesh sample , I love and worship these geniuses as their songs mark the many beautiful times of my growing up throughout my college experience and young life. Have lyrics from in the flowers tattooed on me for a reason. Still cannot believe I am yet to see them live!
It's definitely one of their more "normal" songs, which isn't a gripe by any means. A lot of their other songs will have a moment of some great melodic elements and then it will drastically change and go a different direction or add some random elements. It just depends what you like. Like I could understand how people could not like a lot of their work, but I don't understand how anyone could dislike this song. It's amazing
this song makes me feel like I'm lying next to the pool on a warm summer day with the sun shining down on my face and sparkling off the water as I watch the clouds drift by

nice to see them embracing beautiful melodies, lush textures, without just getting schmaltzy and poppy, kinda of like what radiohead achieve ( not in sound, just execution)

if mac ever collabed with AC.... 8^]
Did´nt they say "My dreams, my dreaaaams, my dreaaaaaaams".
I don't know if their styles would mesh well, but if they had a more conventional song set up like WWIWS they could pull off a hit.
'My Dreams' actually but you're right too
I think they kind of specialize in that. Like "For reverend Green" sounding like "forever in green".. and "What happened?" sounds like "we're happy".. there are more examples but I can't think of them at the moment
Just wish it was longer
nice to see them embracing beautiful melodies, lush textures, without just getting schmaltzy and poppy, kinda of like what radiohead achieve ( not in sound, just execution)
listened to this while high the other night, the reverb scared the hell out of me
COOCHIEEEE

the interlude around 2.30 is so perfect!

Favorited. Animal Collective are very good, top 5 album this year, just don't think they should be annointed Radio Head 2.0 quite yet.
This is a good deed indeed
such a awesome song
I love the intro too. It's called sarcasm. The intro is probably my favorite part of the song.
I have no idea what I'm listening to but it's riveting and it soothes me.
Spectacular
Best song,ever!
