These types of videos are so interesting and fun to me. I love listening to songs as well, but they’re mostly modern R&B, EDM, and pop. I’m curious to see what other songs students listen from different universities or probably high schools as well.

It's such an array of genres and artists and what I like most is when how the appearances are doesn't always dictate what kind of stuff the people are listening to. Glad to see that it isn't predictable and NIhonjin lads are happy with the typically cutesy numbers...
true, I once made an upbeat playlist for a lady friend of mine, only to discover that she preferred gentle music. I've since learnt not to gauge someone's musical preferences based on appearance or personality....she was always fun, happy and upbeat, i misjudged.

With all the female rock/metal bands coming out of Japan and they're still a rarity. It's no surprise that with all the bands you mentioned the comments from their videos are mostly in English.

Until the 80s or so, Westerners didn't listen to old music much either, and even then it was mostly just classic ROCK, not pop or anything else. Regularly listening to music from decades earlier is a pretty recent phenomenon.

Definitely vibing with the guy who was in class listening to his lecture 😅 but also didn’t know universities in Japan were male dominant, was surprised you couldn’t find one women there.
As for Univercity of Tokyo, apparently yes. from wiki>"in 2019, enrollment figures from the University of Tokyo reveal that 5,267 of 24,674 (21.3%) domestic students are female. " but please do not generalize it to apply to Japan...Actually College going rate by gender in Japan is 50% vs 50%.
@@mari5london thank you for this information and sorry for making that assumption. I’m so used to seeing universities/colleges being close to, but always, 50/50 in regards to gender.
Universities in Japan are not male dominated. Tokyo university is best university in Japan they have entrance exam in Japan for going to university men just perform better there. I guess they don't have affirmative action /quota there.

Can you bring the "What Peoples Wearing In Japan" series again?
This is a really nice video but if i may suggest something to improve it, it may be nicer to have follow up questions after asking what songs they are listening to (like what you did to some) as this will provide more context why they listen to that song and know more about them so viewers can connect with the video more :D
The only problem is people have a lot to do instead of answering those questions that you suggested so it will be way harder to find people that would do the interview

They might not want to talk that much and they might not even have the time. He's a stranger at the end of the day.
Most of those interviewed were obviously in the rush, not a good idea
