Whoa Nelley, 1976 and hit the bricks. That tag at 2:33 into the video is the tag that would have been on the carburetor and is used to look up the service parts in the catalog.
We got the VIN, we win: 6 for 1976 model year, P for St. Paul/Twin Cities, MN assembly, 63 for LTD four door sedan, S for 400 CID V8 with two barrel, aka "Slow and Sloppy", and the rest is the production sequence. The Twin Cities MN plant operated from 1925 to 2011. You know the drill, the 400 CID V8 is slow, sloppy, oil burning heap of an engine and was never good in any way, shape or form.
We got the tag, we can brag: 53H for LTD four door sedan, 6P for Cream, CY for possible Cream vinyl top, EY for Cream/Tan interior trim, U for C-6 automatic transmission, 2 for 2.75:1 rear axle ratio, non-locking, and 52 for Dallas, TX sales district.
Whoa Nelley, LTD was never for me. 1976 and took its licks. Motorcraft needed a life raft. Made in the Twin City, and got no pity. Going to be flat and that's that. "Riding on the highway, going to a show...." (AC/DC, "It's a Long Way to the Top (If you Want to Rock 'n' Roll/TNT/1975) and this one is a no go. Going to get squished and even in August of 1976, no one in the free world was even the least bit remotely pissed.

Had to come back to visit your post. I viewed a video on TH-cam where some younger guys went to the power station 🚉 for the Twin Cities Ford plant.I never liked going up there to work, fortunately never had to stay long.

My 73 custom was a lot like that but lime green and very rusty .
My 77 Ltd wagon was that color but with wood paneling.
Could not disagree with you more. Beautiful exciting car that combines looks and utility.

The quick way to spot a tilt column in this era is the orientation of the key switch. If it's mounted high on the column, and angling back, as here, it's a non-tilt. Tilts had the lock mounted lower on the column and angled upwards.

I had a friend who father gave him a 77 two door one with the 302.
It was like new condition but it was an oil burner with low miles. The vehicle was 6 years old at the time and Ford quality was definitely lacking in the 73-80 Era.

I had a 1977 two door LTD in 1989, given to me by a friend. The one I had was a 351 CID V8. I flipped it right away with another friend. We made a small profit on it. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. It was a colossal heap of junk.
