Moved here 3 years ago from Northern Cali. Love it here! Great place to live if you want out of the city life. Has bad places just like anywhere but lots of good people. Our street has several others that left Cali in the last few years.
We stayed in an RV park down the street from Art Bell's house years ago. It was also right down the same street from the Cherry Patch and Sherry's, both brothels.
Moved here from Las Vegas last year. I got a nice house on 1 acre of land with no noise, thugs and low crime. So glad we sold our Monopoly home in Vegas and got a house with some land. Best decision we ever made.
@@worldobserver3515 it's a nice place I liked it my friend works in Las Vegas and resides in pahrump, I lived there briefly and I lived it! I would recommend pahrump to anyone retiring
Be careful where you live and or hang out. There are many nice places here but, there are some really dark neighborhood's too. Even in the Walmart parking lot you better watch your back. I've been here 4 years now and should have left after the first month but I thought I should give this dump a chance. It's a damn site better than CA. Aside from all the homeless, which Pahrump refuses to at least try to reinsert those that can work or at least have a shelter with rules where they can have a break from the elements. There are some very aggressive panhandlers that will push up on you and force you into a defensive posture. Also, I never see kids outside playing. Maybe at the ball fields, but NOT at homes. It's the sign of the times. I guess they are all inside on their cell or computer. Not a town to raise kids. About 39,000 souls here but, THE TRAFFIC CAN BE LIKE VEGAS. Go figure. One last thing, set up cameras to watch your place. Lots of people walking around at night. And don't let someone try to downplay the problems here. Just drive around and count how many Police patrols you see. Go north to CC or Reno.
Lived in Pahrump all my 61 years, and believe me its not a nice or good town, lots of shady folks, drugs, bums, floods evertime it rains, wind and dust storms, and hot as heck in the summer. If you drive around the area you will see what I mean about trashy folks.
@TheRoute. it started to get a lot of jerks from other states and bums about 1995,also the police force in Pahrump are some of the most corrupt unproffesional idiots I have ever seen, ever few years there is a scandal involving them.
There are shady folks everywhere you go. Pahrump is no different. Yes the weather kinda sucks but hey we live in a desert. Now if you want to talk local politics then yeah that sucks!
The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)
Wow.😊

Pahrump is a nice place
Hows the cost of living there?
@@josephensworth7044 Much better than Cali.

I've listened to a lot of George Noory. But I did enjoy Art Bell from time to time too. Sad that he's gone.

The car race truck? Yes
@@TheRoute. cool thanks
This like a more deserted less populated version of reno
How far away are the mountains with snow on them?
It's not far like 15-20 minutes away
@@TheRoute. I see a lot of negative comments here. Do you live there? Do you recommend it to someone who's retiring?

By the way, What's up with that high priced race track only members can see?????? Why aren't locals allowed to visit and watch???? That's a shame.
Like the locals say, "Pahrump, dump, dump."
I don't know why many locals don't like pahrump
We say "Over The Hump in Pahrump". Been here 5 years. Love it! Freedom abounds! Space, spaciousness, Peace, Quiet and freedom.
@@TheRoute. Most of us do! The ones doing the loudest complaining are afraid of too many californians moving in.
