    My father have this camera for years and considers this as his favorite. Before he passed away last year, his last words for me was to take care of his cameras. Been using this since then and now i know why this is his favorite, it really is a great camera and the results are really superb.

    I sold my X100S five years ago and got an XT10 then an XT4 and have just bought another X100S - for twice what I sold mine for 🤦🏻‍♂️. Such a good camera - easy to carry, no faff. Great video btw!

      @@thefilmdaddy Yes! In the end, I sold the X100S again (for the same as I paid for it). While I love the pictures and how portable it is, it was obvious that I got better pictures, faster camera response and nicer photo taking experience from the XT4. And I realised that it wasn't that much harder to carry the slightly bigger camera. Fujifilm all the way though!

    I use a X100F. Got it to shoot street content, and for just general purpose photography on the daily. I now use it for all my client projects and basically anything and everything, from shooting warehouses, to portraits. Fuji seconded a revolution with this tiny pocket sized camera, and i just dont find that joy and convenience of shooting on anything else at all. I just picked up an X100S over the weekend for my first Fuji camera and I’m in love. I don’t feel like my camera is slow or sluggish as mentioned and shown in this video, but maybe because my shutter count is only at 2,000?

      You definitely lucked out don't worry! The camera is only slow by modern standards - the newer models focus a split second faster, and load the menus quicker as well. Honestly speaking I'm new to this, its a hobby and I'm no way near a pro and I'm still learning. Is this worth a buy? I do have an old DSLR Nikon D3400 with a 50mm 1.8 and an 85mm 1.8 (which I love!) as well as the two out of the box stock lenses. I'm all ears and open to advice. Thanks!

      I haven't seen the camera, but I would say go with your gut. I love this camera, I've had a great time using it. It's more for life, travel, street, and documentary. It's a fixed lens, so that's something to consider, and it's wider than both 50 and 85. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy and you've got the money I would say go for it.

    Thanks for this. I've had this camera since it came out and love it as well. Question about the film simulations: I've used Nik Collection software on Photoshop since even before I bought this camera. It's got dozens upon dozens of film simulations. I've always wondered why I'd need to shoot using the "in camera" sims when I can just shoot a RAW file and then use any sim I want? Why and how do photographers (who have Nik, DxO, Adobe Camera RAW, Lightroom) use these simulations? Thanks!

    • @thefilmdaddy
      @thefilmdaddy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think people use the sims as a simple way to emulate old films (without the pain of editing them) and because they don't mind shooting in JPEG. I shoot RAW myself and edit all my shots the way I like them, but I have honestly always wanted to experiment more with simulations.
