Making Charcoal with a Drum Can Kiln

My charcoal inventory for BBQ is running low, so I'm making charcoal. The wood I'm using this time is oak that was harvested last year.

Thank you for the lesson. I was aware of the method of producing charcoal, but a practical demonstration is illuminating. Since you mentioned that you were using oak, I have to assume different woods produce different qualities of charcoal. I wish you success in your next batch.
