I worked there from 1996-1998, my first job after graduating from Russel Sage College with BS in PT. I treated patients in the acute care rooms, the nursing home, and the outpatient PT department. Very friendly staff in that hospital. It was a good place to work.
I worked here in 2003. I finished college in TX and married a NY woman who wanted to return to NY. We both got jobs at MMH. She was PT. I was in IT. Driving up the winding mountain road has a totally weird Steven King feel. All you can see is: pine trees on the left and pine trees on the right, and the pavement is only 1 car width wide. How do cars get down? I wondered. One time, after a fresh snowfall, I heard pine trees breaking under the added weight. It sounded like lumber being snapped -by some invisible upstate NY monster. I was fired for arguing with my boss about the importance of getting radiologists to work for MMH -probably the last firing before everyone was laid off. Sad. I'd like to get back in touch with a few people I met there. Some of the IT people. the SWer from PSU, the lab manager, a couple of the business people.
do you have names for them people i live here i might be able to find them for you i no you wrote this 5mo ago but i am just readding it so if you still want to look them up lmk i try and help.
The very last baby was the son of my co-worker -a nurse who worked there until MMH closed. I worked in the IT dept with her. She is a Cambridge lady, and I dont want to out her, but I was very fond of her. The end of the hospital was pretty sad. They were making a smidge of money on SNF, and a smidge of money on mammograms. When the group of radiologists decided to stop reading mammograms, they tried to find another radiology group to step in. Only one group was interested. They didn't bite. For the record, the head of IT was an idiot. Leadership drove this place into the ground. It's a shame.
there shouldnt be a reason why the state of ny couldnt make our hospital work if thay just put out tax money in to it and up date things the way it should have ben its pretty bad that i have to go to bennington to go to the next closest one to me vt gets my money now becouse i have no idea where my taxes are going cus thay didnt go to help the hospital ya no i am very disapointed that thay closed this down and its just left in a piel to rot very sad

For those that believe in paranormal- they say it’s haunted in the west wing I believe. Now idk abt all that but I will say that I think I need to go and refilm it- I could definitely up the quality a few levels to say the least. Hope you enjoyed 💯💯
I actually bought a home around the corner from the road’s entrance and would LOVE to get up there but I’m a bit chicken with all the signs and camera threats. Is there an ummmmmm better way to get to the property?
Definitely worth it if your in the area, really would be the perfect spot to investigate. Each house is so different and holds an entirely different vibe
It’s a lot easier to get caught then he’s experienced. I live around the corner and people get caught and arrested quite frequently for going up there as it’s owned property now, and was then. There’s constant rounds for the police, the locals themselves, as well as cameras all over the property that has caught people. I wish it were this easy to go explore there trust me💯💯💯💯💯
I’ve been back ever since, and trust me- if you know how to do it right then your chances of getting caught are much much less. I don’t doubt it’s difficult, but I’ve been multiple times and personally know people that have gone and not gotten caught recently. I just commented to your other comment but definitely send me a message for on instagram for sure!!

@@TheLukeExplores yeah, that’s funny, most people are probably caught up in the great drone footage you’ve got going on. Great video overall man. I’ve been up there several times, been through all the buildings too to bottom.

Beautiful place, definitely can feel the sad energy radiating throughout the buildings
Crazy how recently abandoned it was
Wicked how it looks with everything intact

I was born in this hospital along with 2 of my siblings
That’s gotta be so weird to see it in this condition!!
same here! i was born there in 1998
If you’re ever back in upstate would love to do an explore with you! Although this place was awesome wasn’t worth the arrest I caught there. 😂
What’s up bro! I live in upstate- just moved back here from school. Send me a dm on instagram so we can chat!
I just went there cops came and told us to leave it was fun though
They just asked you to leave?
Crazy… they have always arrested those who got caught there.
Watching this on the toilet 🧌🚽
Thank you for your super committed support!
Mad cool
How cool?
So cool!!
Thank you hon!!
I worked there from 86-88 .
It's haunted. Especially the west wing
That’s awesome, must really bring back memories seeing the hospital in this state. I could only imagine!!
@@TheLukeExplores There are rumors of tunnels under the hospital. I worked the night shift and was always told that.
Like “secret” tunnels? I’ve only been twice and I never thought to look for any
My daughter was one of the last babies born there before they shut down the maternity floor
That’s mental- hard to believe this place has only been closed for a number of years
