It's an interesting idea that television is inherently opposed to gaming due to the rivalry for attention between the two media. I wonder if a similar phenomenon of old technology attacking new could be demonstrated between radio and television, or print and radio, or perhaps even handwriting and printing. Maybe vocal professionals like actors or heralds attacked the concept of writing itself at one time.

Can somebody tell me from where is the clip @9:30 ?
I remember watching Killer Net when it first aired and as a 4 parter it worked as well as any mindless tv show. If I remember right there was a bit of a hooha in the typical british rags about how it showed how or kids were being brainwashed into mindless killers via games. Highly amusing for those of us who knew better.
Ok clearly the stalking game was inspired after the Rating system after nightwatch that CD game where you played as a camera operator who worked to trap the kidnappers before a foul fate befell the annoying teens of the 80's half the time you'd just let them get kidnapped out of common decency for the human race and tell yourself this was thinning the heard, which it could have been for all you knew.
