Thanks for the unboxing video Kev! Glad to see the Tangerine Tiger pulled through. We love your vids, very informational with great tips for the hobby. Keep it up!
Thanks bro! I'm glad he made it too, strong little dude! 💪 Thanks for the awesome fish, will be back for more! 😊
Man I just wanted let you know you have some beautiful fish and you can tell you really love your fish. You inspire me to want to be great at caring for my fish..respect bro
That’s awesome! Glad I’ve inspired you!! 😊💪
@@KaveManAquatics I have my 55 gallons of African cichlids I have canister filter I have everything set up but can you plis tell me where u buy ur fishes ?
Thats the nicest growout tank/Quarantine tank ive ever seen.🙆♂️
🤣🤣🤣
Loving the new setup and thanks again for all of the solid, clear advice. I literally have watched every single one of your videos and just set up my first 125 gallon tank. I even searched high and low for those same stacked stone decorations you had in your 75 lol. With a little fight from the wife I set it up in my formal
Living room and she absolutely loves it. It’s all thanks to you Kev. I’m going to run a Frontosa tank and hopefully I can raise these juveniles up to adults. (I know I’ll need a 210+ in about 2-3 years). Please keep the content coming, and thanks again.
Where did you find the stacked rocks ive been searching and cannot find them!
Please drop a link!
@@KlikAndSeuss What I had to do was go to their website once I clicked that link (I used the app)... but I had to keep changing locations in my area to see which Petsmart might still have them in stock. I live in Atlanta and actually several stores still had them.
You’re right, she probably loves it lol mine does too 😆 Glad you’re enjoying the videos! Good luck with those frontosa, they are awesome fish!
That's a cool looking Tangerine Tiger Hap!! Looks like Toucan Sam😁
Looking sweet kaveman. Loving all the popping colors.
Thanks bro! 😊
I love your tank and videos Kev!
Thanks! 😊
LET'S GOO!! Cool hash tag for your merch😎. I clicked on this so fast😂 Beautiful ciclids collection. You were a hero to those guys, the Tangerine Tiger Hap and the Red Empress. Did u say "Clown Roaches"? (did I hear that right?) If they serve such great purpose in the tank than I may have to get a couple for mine. I'll remember to do a 50% fresh water change in addition to new fish. I wonder how would those small OBs be treated by those big guys when you eventually add them in the 210🤔 awesome video, as always and beautiful addition to the 210
Lmao!!! They are Clown Loaches 🤣 I should have added some text, easy to confuse that for guys that never heard of them.
The smaller OB’s, At the size they are now will be a snack! Lol They need to be at least 3” to join the main tank with the big boys, and then swim fast 🤣
@@KaveManAquatics 🤣🤣🤣I'm Laughing Out Loud at what I thought i understood "Clown Roaches", totally unfamiliar with them but I've learned something new from you, yet again
Congrats on the new addition Kev! Tank looking great and fish colors are vibrantly displayed.. Good luck Brother.. Keep up the great work!
Thanks bro! Will do! 😊
Glad the first guy pulled through, beautiful new additions..
Same here, thanks! 😊
Hi Kev. Opening a box of cichlids is as good as opening presents on Christmas morning. >)))o>
You got that right!!! 🤣🤣
I did my new 75 gallon tank Set-Up on Thursday May the 27th. It is now Sunday. 3 days after & the Ammonia is at zero and the Nitrate is at zero. The tank is still a little cloudy. Kinda like your tank here in the video (after your water change). My question: How long does it take for it to be crystal clear? I have a PX2 canister filter with course/medium/fine filters, plenty of ceramic media/rocks/stars, etc. in the middle and a Nitrate Bio-bag at the top with about a 1/4 of poly-fil to top it off. I have 2 power heads, one on each side. I have been doing the stabilizer from day one. Quick-start @ day one and I put 3 caps of PRIME in yesterday to eliminate the .05/1.0 Ammonia that the test shown yesterday. But, as I said. All levels are perfect now. Thanks KEV!!
New tanks can get a bacterial bloom which takes a few days to clear up on its own. But there are many other factors that can keep your water cloudy. Check out my free ebook and implement all of these and you'll always have crystal clear water - bit.ly/H2O
1 thing to keep in mind is make sure you're testing nitrite as well because nitrite is what ammonia breaks down to and it could take several days for the bacteria colony to populate your tank enough to break down nitrite to nitrate. You should have at least some nitrates once it's all said and done unless you're running your lights and your algae is consuming them. I'd keep your lights off so you know when your tank is fully cycled. Also, you can add fish just make sure you start slow, you dont need a heavy bio load at the start because that will put your ammonia at high enough levels to harm your fish. Also keep in mind the relationship between ph and ammonia toxicity. Ammonia is a lot more toxic at 8.2 or 8.3 ph than it is at 7.8 or 7.7
Brother Kev phenomenal fish man. Tanks are coming out very nice.
Thank you bro! 😊💪
Those are some great additions bro. I knew you had to be adding some fire when that tank size jumped. Thanks so much for sharing
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Awesome fish and tanks bro keep it up
Thanks bro 😊

Just got my order from snake river cichlids in yesterday, platinum OB breeding pack. Pretty excited
Nice!!💪
Amazing additions. Great video. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
What do you think about snake river cichlids?
They're fish in the photos always look incredible, but I've mostly just used Imperial tropicals.
The fish I’ e gotten from them look just like their photos. Check my Facebook group for discount codes. Link in the description.
If I were you I would stick to imperial tropicales . I received an order from them with sunken belly and ich and two fish bags barely had any air in them .
You sure do like OB peacocks you have a lot of them in your tank Lol Great colorful fish keep up the work
Yea I like the color variations, I don’t discriminate against them lol
What a save!!! 💪💪💪💪
Thanks, and he’s doing great still today! 💪
Loving the tank man.
Thank you sir! 💪
Amazing stuff bro like always love that blue dolphin one it’s pretty nice!
Thanks! 😊
great choice of fish from snake river cichlids tried to get the same ones but they sold out going to definitely take advantage of their black Friday deals though that's for sure.
I was very happy with my first purchase with them, highly recommend! 💪
Yeah man second time I buy from them I had gotten a sulphur head and canary yellow ob from them they are awesome def one of a kind fish.
Stress guard with prime are very effective, as soon as we put them in the water, the guys starting color up and ease their movement!
I do take snap of the fish in the package whether they are dead, or, just playing dead! Or sometime swimming side ways or upside down. Side ways and uside down are most of the times due to stroke, and water temperature fluctuations! Putting those "temporarily sick" guys with full oxygenate with sponge filter is small tank (may be 10 gallons) will be most effective way to recover them fully, adding just a pinch of epsom salt in medical 10 Gallons tank will be most effective! Well, I use pinch of epsom salt, stress guard, and prime in half tank water and half fresh water in 10 Gallons medical tank do the trick most of the time. This is my way of saving and getting them back to life!! Your approach to save that fish was effective too. Just sharing my experience here
Man, beautiful 210 gallons, I am keeping Flowerhorns and Parrots, oscars and other Cichlids in little than 100 Gallons, didn't venture to upgrade, but hey, looking your setup is very tempting! Hahahahhaa.
Much appreciated your video
Thanks for those tips, very effective! Thats a great mix of American Cichlids you got, I'm tempted to start a tank with those guys as well...Trying to decide between that and a salt water tank.
Hi Kev, Nice OB collections..
Thanks! 😊
Becoming a fan of your videos! I'm a beginner and I'm loving it! Your tips are very helpful! Thank you 😃👍🏼
Glad you find the channel helpful! 😊💪
Great video!! Thanks for telling us some of the details on the Prime and Stress Guard!! Great tanks!
Thanks bro, glad you enjoyed 😊
Looking good! Snake River Cichlids has the best strains of OB's! You should do an overview of your stock list in your new tank soon!
What pump are you using for water changes?
Already on my list bro, and coming up soon 😊 I use this pump for the 210 - amzn.to/35UI6b7
Hey I was wondering where you got your stacked stone décor that I saw in a previous video.
Found it at my local PetSmart.
Nice setup my friend love the new pickups that you have and God bless

Yes finally a new video
What you mean? Its only been a week lol
I know it been a week but I always looking for new video like almost everyday lol 😂

Hey Kev so excited to watch this video and lite replay salivating 😊 at the view of that amazing 210! Magnificent! Great job bro and what amazing new fellas you have received. By the way do you ship your tee to UK? I might have missed the chance to order it if you do 🙁. Take care my friend

Let's go! Next time order from James at the Cichlid Shack.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll look him up.
@@KaveManAquatics James is a great guy, there's videos on TH-cam "cichlid shack" you won't be disappointed!
I’ve had great success with snake river. I’m very surprised to see that bag leaking, never had an issues with them, so hopefully it was just a random fluke and hope it doesn’t deter you from buying from them again. They have good customer service also
@@greygoose117 I’m pretty sure it was a fluke, all other bags were in perfectly sealed condition. And the fish looked great and were all healthy. Even tangerine tiger as bad as he looked recovered almost immediately.
Looking real good! Those Snake River cichlids seem to be high quality fish. Gonna have to try an order from them soon. Curious, what is the name of the fish at 0:17 in the bottom middle of the tank? Peace!
Thanks bro, Bottom middle is a Red Empress and a Fryeri OB behind him.
Wow I thought for sure that poor guy was a goner but all he wanted was some fresh water!
Nice man lovet !!!
hey man you dont cuarentine enny of this guys ?
Yea I quarantined all of them...it was pre recorded.
What's up Kev love the new 210 fish is gonna look good in that size of a enviroment. I got a quick question where did you get that wood from and what's the link cause it would look great I'm my 110g.
Thanks and keep up the great work.
Thanks bro, its not wood, no tannins in my tank...its a fake decor found at my local petsmart.
My wife recently gave me permission to purchase a 75 gallon tank. I've decided to create a Mbuna cichlid community. On an earlier video you stated turn the water over 10 times an hour. So for a 75 gallon the fluval fx4 @700g/h would be sufficient? Was look at bubbles but not anymore! I love your tank setup
congrats on getting permission 😊 Just go with the FX6, you'll get one eventually anyway, might as well get it now.
Another awesome video!! BTW where did u get ur 210 with stand?
Thanks bro, found it at my local Pets Warehouse. They had it in stock and on the floor. Theres a glass shortage in the country currently so you may need to find something that your local store already has.
Where did you get the aquarium deco?
Found it at my local PetSmart
Soooo beautiful!!!

No worries I didn’t start with this tank or the tank before it. We all go at our own pace. The beauty of this hobby is there’s something that works for everyone 😊

Oh man seeing this beautiful fish are amazing I’ve been hooked on buying them since I been watching ur videos I did not know that bout loaches where did you buy your cichlids from this shipment from?
This shipment came from snakerivercichlids.com Great selection, price and shipping.
Awesome tank and additions! In observation of your video, I noticed that you still had your pumps running. So if I’m correct, when I do a water change, I can let my fluval 307 continue to run, as long as my water level doesn’t get too low below my intake?
Absolutely! It just helps to continue breaking the surface and adding oxygen to your tank while water changing 👍
@@KaveManAquatics That’s a great point! Thanks for your input. You have no idea how much I have learned from your channel. it’s also re-invigorated my passion for the hobby. Thanks again Kev. Keep the great content coming.

Yes and yes, good eye 😉
Awesome video, we're looking to get a 210g tank, what type and how many water heaters do you recommend?
I use 2 of these heaters in my 210 - kavemanaquatics.com/product-category/equipment/heaters/
Oh! P. S. What type of fish is Flacko II again? Thanks! ( I wanna get one, they have one at the Local fish store here in Richmond, VA in a 150G tank almost 2 foot long)!!!
He's an Arowana and they require very big tanks. My 150 isnt even big enough for him
I’m glad you ordered from them I was looking but was not sure.what kind of sand do you use kev ?
My first time and I have to say it was a good transaction. Except for that 1 fish almost dead, but sometimes a leaky bag can happen. I use 100% aragonite sand in this tank...check it out - amzn.to/3fl2sgH
@@KaveManAquatics do you still have the aragonite crush coarol in the filter even tho you have the sand
We had the same thing happen with our Apache peacock from Snake River. We quickly got him in hospital tank with an additional air stone. He finally recovered, and when he eventually went into the big tank, Big Daddy became tank boss. >)))o>
Lobe stories like that...A fish on his death bed, recovers, and become huge! I have about 4 of those in my tank now. Automatic favorites!
Hi Kave, I got my first yellow fin Lwanda and he enjoys swimming against wavemaker..
Awesome! 😊👍

Thanks!! 😊😊
I really like that ob eureka
Me too!! 😆😆
Love the new tank! I have a 55 gallon with 6 peacocks and one blood parrot. How many do you think I can have total in that size tank?
55 is the min size. I wouldn’t add too many more...or a tank upgrade will soon follow 😆
Tanks coming along nicely would love to
add a 210 but my 125 is in my living room and basement movie room below would have to add brace
Add that brace bro!! 💪💪🤣🤣
KaveMan Aquatics 😃😃 the wife may have me move to the garage bro
Plenty of room for fish in there 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Kev, it's good to quarantine the fish before introducing it to the aquarium. Isn't it?
Absolutely!
What is the right measurements for a good tank?
That’s up to you
Thank you for your videos. Just found you yesterday on a google search and am glad I did. A visit to the local aquarium store had me thinking I would never be able to pull off a tank again but your videos have simplified a lot for me. You are awesome. Probably a stupid question, but when I hadboth a salt and a fresh in a 29 gal and the fresh had cichlids mixed with 2 angels 22 YEARS AGO, I would do my "partial" when I vac'd the tank each week. Is that not the same thing? I generally had about 40% of my tank water gone by the time I got done vac'ing the tank and would then treat and refill with the new water. Is that not done anymore? I see you use a pump to do your partials, but this is probably because you have such a massive tank, too. I am thinking about getting a 175 with cichlids when I get back into it.
If you removed 40% while vacuuming then yes that’s a good water change too 👍
210 lookin sick bro...

Love the video, as usual. Got a few questions, what was that you used for the water change? Do clown loaches have the same function as plecos in a cichlid tank? Can you put Angels in with these African cichlids? I see you made a decision on your 75, smart.
It’s a vivosun pump and hose, links to both in the description. Clown loaches sift through the substrate and break loose any trapped detritus, plecos eat algae, good to have both. And no way, angels will get tore up with these boys.
I see plenty of OBs in your tank and order. What's been your experience with them? I'm cycling a new 180g tank and wanted to start with peacocks only then cautiously venture into haps and OBs. I'd love to have OBs from jump, but only if safe. Also, what do you think of my general strategy? I kept mbuna before so I'm terrified of aggression. Thanks for all you do for the hobby boss.
Yea mbuna can be that way. Your strategy is a good one. Peacocks are the least aggressive. Overstocking helps with aggression as well as many other things...the OB’s really aren’t any more or less aggressive than anyone else. It’s kind of a shot in the dark. When you do get OB’s just get them a bit smaller than everyone else, so they’ll no their place at the bottom early on and not act so tough lol
@@KaveManAquatics thanks man
Yo do the fishes lose color in the bag or just the camera
They do lose color because they’re stressed. Normal when shipping fish...after a few days they should color up again.

Dont remember exactly, but I usually give all new fish about 2 weeks
@@KaveManAquatics Cool
how to direct delivery of fish on your home
Do you use tap water? Do you stage your water first before putting it in the tank? Here in Florida I have to use RODI water or algae would be out of control
I do use tap water, Just dechlorinate before adding
@@KaveManAquatics water is so hard here in Florida I use a RODI
Do you have African cichlids? They prefer hard water.
@@KaveManAquatics No just my 125g SA Tank. Looking to start a 180g Hap tank next year.
@@jasonmillwood2893 Ok makes sense, your hap tank will love that hard water.
I’m considering starting a new SA tank myself 😊👍
How long do you put fish in quarintine
I try to keep them in quarantine a min of 2 weeks
What kind of filtration are you using is your tank drilled
Its not drilled, and dont have too much confidence in overflow boxes...So im using 2 FX6's and a 407 for polishing...Check out the set up here - th-cam.com/video/sqj2g8_PZ7U/w-d-xo.html

@@KaveManAquatics I’m planning on upgrading to a 125 I use 2 fluval hang on back on my 60 gallon do you think the fx6 will be enough for the 125?
Absolutely, perfect filter for a 125
Do you still put buffer in at water changes ?
Yes Sir, supplementing the aragonite sand, it may not be needed but I like to give the sand some help 😊
@@KaveManAquatics my ph is at 8.0 and kh is at 6 I started useing the Victoria buffer mine is 900 litres how much do you put in your tank and what is your kh ph and gh ??
I dont bother testing GH and KH because they are always high. My PH is steady at 8.0. I add according to the dosage on the bottle. depending on how big of a water change I do.
