Suffice it to say, I loved that note so friggin' much that really inspired me to kick some alien butt! Err to understand them better, I mean.

You missed my favorite easter egg: in Anomalous Materials, you pass by 3 scientists having a conversation, separated from you by some glass. One scientist is saying that he is replicating a previous experiment using current technology, as it was what got him into science in the first place. His colleagues are telling him that it's a dumb idea and he should focus on creating new experiments. It's a big reference to the Crowbar Collective making Black Mesa!
But you can enter that room and even see that the woman scientist in the conversation tries to calm the scientist down, while the other one (the meathead who told him that it was a dumb idea) keeps on arguing. After the resonance cascade, It felt good to see that dumb scientist turned into a zombie. Although it makes sense
A lot of the interactions with the scientist and officers as well as easter eggs like 21:53 and 23:06 really give you the impression that the people in the Black Mesa facility were really good friends with each other, a very friendly and comfortable work environment, even in situations of high tension, the science team was rooting for Gordon Freeman. Which is a very sweet detail but then it makes you depressed when you think of the fact that most of them died in the lambda incident.
Well the nuke was powerful, however it was detonated almost on the surface, it couldn’t have destroyed all of the Black Mesa facility especially the underground parts and Lambda Complex is pretty deep underground. If I remember correctly the nuke wasn’t next to the Lambda Complex surface entrance (?) and was a solid distance away. Considering the Black Mesa team still sends Gordon supplies as he is facing Nihilanth and as Gman is talking to Gordon we do not see the surface destroyed or damaged at all. The science team had the chance of escaping just in time as on the surface entrance of the lambda complex there is a fence that could be driven or cut through easily, which then leads to the desert, and if the nuke was detonated as they were leaving keep in mind how much terrain and heavy concrete buildings there are to contain the blast. I am not saying they did escape but there is a possibility they did.

@James Robertson because he first figures out what a headcrab looks like right after the resonance cascade, right when you talk to Eli, he looks at the headcrab that is teleported into one of the glass containers and talks about it like he's never seen one before
Officer Sezen: Hey Calhoun, guess who just locked himself outside of his office again? Barney: Oh man, not Kleiner! Sezen: Yup, and guess who’s already in the vents? *Barney scrambles like mad* All the more reasons to why I love this remake so badly.

@@RenGraes I don't think it was one, I think in the original HL when you use a vent to get into an office to open it (because its locked from the outside) someone comments about how its like you and Barney racing each other to see who could unlock the door the fastest without a key.

Dr. Horn also writes messages about escaping to the shed on the whiteboard in that Xen room aswell, and the shed makes a subtle nod to the co-worker that worked next to Dr. Horn in his office with the "taking over the world" message written by the co-worker.
@@xHeigoux I wouldn't bet my money on that. Could be either a Stargate or Asura Gate reference, but in the end, the Asura Gate is a ripoff from Stargate after all, so the outcome is the same.
The message from barney near the end is a reference to back in episode one where Alyx says something about how when Kleiner would lock himself out of his office, gordon and barney would have competitions to see who could get in faster without a key. Gordon is the one in the vents.
You missed one. If you carry the pizza up to lambda core at the part where you have to go through all the teleporters, one of them takes you to a group of scientists and a security guard who say that they recognize you, but then the security guard says "I thought you were the pizza guy". There are also a bunch of funny easter eggs for keeping NPC's alive. They react to certain scripted sequences, similar to the one with the Hivehand, like in Surface Tension, if you keep one of the security guards alive and bring him with you to the massive weapons cache, the other guard will recognize him and they strike up a conversation.
21:52 I’m just imagining Black Mesa daily work environment as crazy as in The Office, with Gordon and Barney fucking racing through the vents instead of working, microwaves exploding food and all that.
I believe that they are slightly different than the ones from both games as I think that the ones from the first game were built into Chell's legs and the second game ones are actual boots
Hold up. Does that mean Aperture Science was selling technology to the military, same as Black Mesa? DOES THAT MEAN THAT... nothing, it's literally explained in both games that they make shit for military... Not exactly an easter egg, it's actually quite fitting for the lore, ngl. But these assassin bitches are more hardcore than any combine soldiers i've ever seen, how the fuck were these defeated by the Combine is gonna forever be my mistery.
Yes, black mesa and aperture science is connected in a way. They were competiting over the ways of teleportation and all. If you go to one room (I don't remember it) in Portal or Portal 2, you could see a projector and it's on. On it you can see the word Black Mesa. And towards the end when you meet Glados , on one screen it will show the Black Mesa symbol between those cakes pictures.
the long fall boots were from portal 2, portal 1 had the "advanced knee replacements" which were " two prostheses completely or partially replacing the knee, partially tied to the Test Subject's calves, and prolonged with two flexible curved pieces of metal going under the Test Subject's heels, acting as springs." according to the wiki, which were in their own based on a cut half life 2 enemy the "combine assassin" feature
I love the Long Fall Boots on the Assassin's, nice nod to Portal & Half-Life's shared universe. But my favourite is definitely the Bareny and Gordon racing through the vents one, just wholesome.
Theres an easter egg you missed in the teleporter labs. One of the teleporters in the big tower will take you to a room with 2 old scientists and a security guard who recognize you from earlier, and they proceed to get into a married couple bicker fight. One of my favorite interactions.
Did no one else notice the Monsters Inc Easter egg? TH-cam search "Oh, thats Puce" for context.

the "Kleiner locking himself out of the office" at 22:10 is a reference to Gordon and Barney's past. I'm pretty sure that everyone knows about this by now, since it was also present in the original Half Life.
@@MrGermandeutsch I have totally forgotten about the headcrab in the microwave oven though. Have played the shit out of HL back then, but haven't played it in 10 years or so.
"i can smell the pepperoni on their breath" brilliant haha
There is "1337" on the barrel of the Glock, if you soom onto the model. And the WD-40 spays says AN-US.
Anus lol
1337?
When Gordon came across two portals, he entered the portal on his left.
After staring at Source 2 G-man for so long, Half-Life e G-man looks like a clay toy.
21:51 this scene is amazing
Video: microwave
Me: pff, everybody knows about it explode
Microwave: headcrab function
Me: ooooooh...
G-man: prepare for unforseen consequences...
also G-man, wearing the ridiculous hat in the end:

Sign: Notice this notice Gordon-kun~
Gordon:
Developers went too much pizza on the job.
What pizza joke? You're lying.
Black Mesa : *the Pizza is a lie*
Portal : *the cake is lie*
Aperture tag : *the organe bottle is lie*
that long fall boot easter egg blew my mind, it's really nice seeing Aperture being a valid part of the half life universe
26:15 *AND YOURE DEAD KIDDO!!!*

19:44 Barney talking about Dr. Horn, same guy from the picture in the secret shed 15:37
Dr. Horn also writes messages about escaping to the shed on the whiteboard in that Xen room aswell, and the shed makes a subtle nod to the co-worker that worked next to Dr. Horn in his office with the "taking over the world" message written by the co-worker.
19:36 I think you totally lost that Stargate reference... You're only talking about the voice transmission,
Yup, when I saw that I immediately thought "Stargate!"
@@sujimayne It's weird, because back in the 90s Stargate was the shit. But nowadays? People seem to forget.
It's actually not a stargate reference. It is a reference to asura gates from guild wars 2, cause one of the devs is a gw 2 player.
Now imagine if SG-1 came through there, that would be some alliance!
@@xHeigoux I wouldn't bet my money on that. Could be either a Stargate or Asura Gate reference, but in the end, the Asura Gate is a ripoff from Stargate after all, so the outcome is the same.
4:36
kacpi26: trying to show gman
bullsquid: allow me to introduce myself
The easter eggs and secrets alone show how much effort and thought was out into this! I'm very impressed
The message from barney near the end is a reference to back in episode one where Alyx says something about how when Kleiner would lock himself out of his office, gordon and barney would have competitions to see who could get in faster without a key. Gordon is the one in the vents.
Xen and Earth got invaded by pizzas
Shit, this door voice easter egg just gives the game 10/10! So hilarious
It also exist in the original Half-Life
You missed one.
17:20
Aren't that those Long Fall Boots From *_Portal_* and not *_Portal 2_* ?
Or is my eyesight that bad already?
@@NateNeverAskedForThis combine force is one of the largest force with power. Nobody can defeat them except Gordon Freeman.
The developers really put their heart into Black mesa
The “door locked” easter egg is a reference to the original “door locked” easter egg in hl1 when the player doesn’t ask for help in the hazard course
This is so well put together, thank you for creating this!
Who knew the HECU really hate being called bakers.
I love the Long Fall Boots on the Assassin's, nice nod to Portal & Half-Life's shared universe. But my favourite is definitely the Bareny and Gordon racing through the vents one, just wholesome.
Feel like they should've put "The doughnuts are a lie"
"Does anyone know who ate all the doughnuts?"
Eil ate the doughnuts
Do you know who ate all the donuts?
fan eli
There is also an easter egg when you pick up Tau Cannon; when Freeman turns on a switch, a sound is played when you open a door in classic DOOM '93
26:19 playing this game on linux mint while seeing the linux can just made me so happy
Theres an easter egg you missed in the teleporter labs. One of the teleporters in the big tower will take you to a room with 2 old scientists and a security guard who recognize you from earlier, and they proceed to get into a married couple bicker fight. One of my favorite interactions.
23:28 i am scared
GOONIDAN G man everywhere
yeah creepy as F
man, 10 minutes of depressing music* was enough for me ^^
*edit: depressing black mesa soundtrack
Depressing? This music is relaxing.
rest assured it is less than a minute in original: th-cam.com/video/R8fW_SeNm_8/w-d-xo.html
but it is haunting nonetheless
It should be a "Beer is a Lie" cuz Barney never gave us any beer!
Bruh 24:59 Is literally the Navy Seal copypasta but censored! Legends for putting that in!
The Barney Calhoun easter egg is pretty cool, it adds a whole new layer to him
Did no one else notice the Monsters Inc Easter egg? I forget what chapter(s) but there's a small pile of colored papers on a desk, with the top one saying "Filing Paperwork - Pink to Accounting, Fuchsia to Purchasing, Goldenrod to Records, Puce - Your copy."
TH-cam search "Oh, thats Puce" for context.
Wow, finally after all these years other people have discovered the “Pizza is a lie” Easter egg
Anyhoo, great video ^^
3:11 "quite a nasty PIZZA work.."
Lol
im waited this for soo long im waiting half life alyx easter eggs now from you :) pls :)))))
"It's always the quite ones'" LMAO
so the scientist Teleports snacks for Gordon so he could chill a bit in that room and then pressing on ?
Eat some chips, drink a soda, take a quick nap with a Headcrab plush...
Well... it's hard to press on with an empty stomach.
G man:As the suit i think you've earned it
Gordon:i think that you did NOT earn that hat
You missed the SSTV transmission easter egg, that radio at 7:23 in the video plays an SSTV signal, which is an image of a paper says "victor would like this extension / code C - 3914" or sth like it
You also missed the pizza room before the chapter
"Apprehension"
You missed a pizza box located at an elevator shaft emergency exit in the chapter "Lambda Core", which spawns there after the map changes (i dont remember the map name but i think that easter egg still exists)
You missed "fix it deniz!" malfunctioning computer easter egg, in the chapter "Questionable Ethics"
You missed a big "CM" sign printed on a wall in the chapter "Office Complex", which is located at the elevator shaft where you pass through it to shut down a turret, in there you can see a few doors and one of the doors is half opened and when you noclip there, the wall has a printing on it says "CM" made up with black polygons overlay (i think it is removed in the new release)
these are also interesting to see
the "Kleiner locking himself out of the office" at 22:10 is a reference to Gordon and Barney's past.
They apparently used to race into getting in Kleiner's office without using any doors, After Kleiner intentionally locks himself out of the lab for that purpose.
Alyx does mention at HL2 Episode 1 that Gordon always uses the vents.
14:12 so depressing, the music elavates it, do masterful.
the vents joke was amazingly perfect

I found an interesting easter egg in the questionable ethics chapter in the optronics weaponry lab, Its not the room under the stairs, but yet another easter egg outside of the map. I'm not sure if anyone knows about it or has seen it, but if you go far outside the map with the optronics weaponry in the questionable ethics chapter of black mesa, you could find a special room with a truck inside it, and the truck was apparently made completely out of hammer brushes. And of course, theres pizza.
Did you mention that every blue-screen monitor in the game has the text: *HL2.EXE* on it?
Awwww...that earth snacks easter eggs really warmed my heart!
It would be hilarious if that door said, "You shall not pass." Maybe even a reference to Monty Python. XD
OMG the radio in Xen reference was so cool! I noticed that Barney is talking about a vent race, which Alyx explains in HL2 episode 1/2 (I don't remember)
Just have finished this game. Easily one of my favorites
It had all the magic of Half-Life with tons of bonus content, 10/10 game.
@@lagunkaz yes sir
How much is it?
Yes i have finished it 1 day ago and because of complex game and because of graphic i spent lot of time to figure out what is next to do.
@@endermorpher8667 Last time I checked it was only $20USD on Steam.
Believe it or not - but Stimer was the first man who found easter egg with Pizza rain. If you want proof - Ask Teajai for it
Is there a "Taco Ending?"
Also, *Surprise Creeper*
Ratman probably got really mad and wrote his text all over the research facilities.
literally 13 hours of work to see G-Man wear a funny hat

Wow men, you really work hard for the videos you make, and this one it's a proof of that. #respect
THE MAN BEHIND THE SLAUGTHER IS GMAN!
I think the pizzas are canon to the story and not just an easter egg in a manner of a side story of some scientist who was paranoid about people stealing his slices of pizza which i can't remember

Soundtrack for this game is amazing
8:07 so... where are the four codes ABCD and the site and wtf means konami code one zero zero one

NicolasDDJ that is correct, but some versions add select before start
