I am Robinson Crusoe's follow up,but on my own chosen Philosophical Island. I choose to be alone, which is different from being lonely. Quiet like a landmine...for your own sake, don't step on me....The human species is inherently flawed.I prefer to stay clear...as the negative aspects of the species far outweighs the positive aspects. However,I am an empathetic person, which may sound contradictory....I do help the underdog whenever I can....it is the top dog which always needs to show aggression, status, materialism and domination which I avoid, by spending the maximum time possible on my chosen Island.Been around for 70 years....seen and smelt enough 💩 to keep me clear and on my course....the Infinite Void of the Universe is my comfort...the comfort which I will eventually become one with for all Eternity. Pectora roborant cultus recti,ad infinitum.Aquila non capit muscas!! Greetings from Cape Town.

Thanks for your comment. And yes, you're right: being alone is different to being lonely.
Being alone can be - as you say - a choice. There can sometimes be a certain nobility in being alone, can't there? We can find ourselves when we are alone, for example.
Loneliness is often not a choice and an unwelcome, undesired state.
