So, five jobs. Each. the cottage, the homestead, the day job, the youtube, and looking after the people and animals that depend on you. All while cooking and cleaning in a caravan. In winter. Most people can't do that, especially for more than a week or two. Hats off.
Strange how some of your followers seem to think it’s a slow renovation. Taking into consideration actual man hours that have been put into the renovation it’s a miraculous build time. Feel so very proud of you both.👍👏👏
Anyone criticising your progress has clearly never done this! Full time job, plus family, plus renovations is …….. Difficult to say the very least. Thanks for great content and really wholesome videos.
In 1974 my husband and I bought a home on an acre of land. The folks who owned it had lots of junk cars on it at one time or another. We spent the whole year renovating the house and cleaning up the yard. We managed to move in the week I delivered our first child. So I can very much commiserate with all your efforts. You are doing a wonderful job and I enjoy every video.
Love your humor with each other and that you can laugh at your mistakes and trials! Love that you are having the ponies because their presence is healing to your souls. My first husband of 23 years passed 10 years ago and we did the 'let's do farm life' after living in the city the first 8 years. Lots of memories and fun things we learned. Our 4 children thrived and learned responsibilities of farm life and caring for animals. We bought an old tomato packing plant that had been a church, dance hall and community gathering place. Over 7000 sq ft of house with brick walls. We had a skylight in our upstairs family room and our 11 year old son was playing video games and saw a few pairs of eyes were watching him and scared he ran downstairs to the kitchen to tell us then we heard a rumble on the roof. Our roof on one end of the house was close to the ground level. All 4 kids all ran out with flash lights and started yelling and laughing. We had 3 of our goats on the roof! Lots of fun times!
The ponies are a great presence on the land, such beautiful animals, definitely great as animal therapy for us. Goats on the roof - hehe, we have never kept Goats, and hear they are very naughty escape artists.
I didn't think it would be possible for me to love the 3 of you anymore than I already do but you consistently prove I can. It's amazing how attached you can become to total strangers that are living 3,000 + miles away but I look forward to every video you post. You are good people ❤ thanks for including us in your journey.
Hola, and Thankyou for another great video. We were 56 when we sold up in the UK and bought 2 acres in the mountains of Spain. We just wanted a complete life change. We lived in a tiny cabin / shed with no water, electricity or any sort of mod cons. We lived in that for 6 years, best years ever, and had already said before we started this adventure that we would laugh at the ups & downs. We eventually built a beautiful modern house that we lived in for the next 10 years. We then wanted another adventure & the house & land was becoming hard work. So by now in our 70's we bought an old Spanish Casita unlived in for over 20 years, and that has reduced me to tears. I think a renovation is much harder than a self build., especially with an old property, but it's all been worth it. We love our Spanish home, it's only down the road from our huge, modern , beautiful house that was a great achievement and we look back & often wonder how we did it, so like you say, follow your dreams, it's not always easy, but our children are very proud of us , and we are proud of ourselves. We get up every morning with a plan & keep going, we still have lots of land, an Olive Grove , so work continues. Oh, and after 19 years of living in Spain we still don't have a TV. That's through choice 😂. Keep doing what your doing, Happy New Year, love to you all. Patricia ♥️🌲♥️
Thanks! Keep the great videos coming. Love what you’re doing with this project also I am like 12 weeks away from becoming 70….. only on a pension so I can do this occasionally. You need a golf cart, just clear a couple of bush paths with strimmer help with groceries and bags of food for ponies and the garden, just a suggestion which may not help you in your situation.🤷♀️❤️❤️🙋♀️I hope you have a notebook jotting down what and WHERE you plant with dates, if not please do so also with dates. I worked in a garden centre and grew food.. also if you run a 3 pronged hoe just to keep weeds out on these wet wet wet days..
Thank you for your generosity - we appreciate you! 70 - what a great milestone, we hope you are enjoying yourself more with every year. We hope to get some form of motorised assistance, be it golf cart, or quad bike anything to help us shift stuff around, this kind of luxury will have to wait until the deadline for our final inspection in August passes. Re: Gardening notebook - yes we do keep a little digital diary, although I have missed a few entries, and it frustrates everytime I look at the plants and wonder what the details were! Hoe is definitely an investment which is happening soon - some weeds are starting to creep into the no-dig beds slowly. Happy new year!
I personally find your channel refreshingly different. I enjoy the more laidback approach to you managing other work commitments and the homestead development. 🎉
Thank you, guys. Anyone thinking this is a slow renovation has never done it themselves. I dare people to study for instance for a degree in between fulltime work and family commitments and see how that goes (it's not even physical work but the struggle is real) 😉
Oh my goodness I amazed at what you three have accomplished. I enjoy your loving banter, your hard work, your dedication to the environment and your beautiful smiles. I look forward to seeing what 2025 will bring for you all. Cheers from Ontario, Canada🇨🇦
You two are AWESOME, thank you for sharing your lives with us ❣️❣️❣️. Just a precaution, watch the ponies backs for rain rot, with the thick hair and being wet they can develop pustules against the skin (rain rot). A good brushing when dry will help them avoid it. Take care of each other ❣️❣️❣️
You are such a lovely couple and deserve every success in your homesteading dream. Find a sponsor of a motorised wheelbarrow that will take alot of the heavy lifting up to the veg plot.
Another reason you need all that garlic is to save your own seed! 😊 love you guys!!! It’s inspiring how you seem to be keeping your sense of humour in the wind, cold, living quarters! You guys are the best!
It has been a pleasure and an honour m'dears❤. I sincerely hope you continue to succeed beautifully in 2025 and beyond. Much love to you.....and to all.🎉❤🎉
You guys are brilliant, it's been great craic watching you, your family and your progress. Nothing slow about yas! So glad I found your channel! I've no doubt you'll smash your 2025 goals.
Hi folks, Your progress is pretty good I would say especially with full-time jobs and parenting... especially the ponies. 😂 Renovation takes as long as it takes I have found. Your secret is your sense of humour and sense of adventure. It's not the destination but the journey that you will look back on and smile. Plus your family sharing your homestead journey is a pleasure to watch. Cheers from Aussie 👍
Oh my, I have just recovered from the laughing fit you left me in with your bloopers. I love the way you have this fun together and share it with us. Of course you have your moments, we all do, however, you overcome them in such a graceful way! Also thank you for answering all those questions. I may never have asked some of those, considering them too personal, and you just answered them in such a lovely way! With regard to Gavin, didn't you say that he has COPD? That would be more than enough reason to not make him do anything like hauling stuff! Besides, like you said, these are foster horses, not yours to do with as you please. I'm just really pleased that those two persons, Gavin and Sia, have such a good horsey life with you! Thank you for being there for them! And have a wonderful new year. I hope that you will be able to move into your gorgeous cottage in 2025, you deserve to live in that home that you are creating for yourselves with your very hard work! You guys are awesome!
You guys are amazing. So thankful for your efforts to put a new video out over the holidays. Your Q and A idea is brilliant. Your videos are so fresh- look out 2025.
Aww thanks for the shout folks, yeah an awning in this country is lovlely except when the mad weather comes!! Not pleasant waking up to a crash at 3am!! Still reckon an industrial drone to the garden is the way forward! Love the crying moments... 💯 Relate... we all have those!! Your progressing at the perfect speed that suits you, wouldnt worry about anything else. Hope ye all are enjoying the break, happy new year! Congrats on the belt, super upgrade 😂😂😂
Yep, renovations/conversions do take time. We lived in a borrowed caravan for 2. 1/2 years, till the owner wanted it back. I was working 55 miles away, commuting 5 days week on a motorbike,. We had to move into our barn, with a toilet, gas stove and an old fridge. Concrete floors and one bedroom plastered. Took another 2 years to finish. You have to do it to realise the time it takes. So slow? Never. Love the vids.
I love how you laugh with each other...it must lighten the problems!! Love how he carries you at the end. Every video makes me laugh. Best to you all in 2025. I predict you will move into the cottage
I totally disagree with the time label, you guys have done so much already in extreme conditions I will say. To have a full-time job and start from scratch to homestead, then the cottage and taking on TH-cam all together is an achievement already. I think that you have been extremely successful and very motivating to watch, you guys are making it happen and that's the most important thing. Being so entertaining in the process is a bonus of course. Best wishes for the new year and a very Happy New Year from Cape Town.❤️
I just found you yesterday🎉 you're such a humourous and funny couple, combined with great videocreations and music....❤❤❤❤ heartwarming. You've got a new fan
We’re starting a similar journey in 2025 with a ruined stone farmhouse in Roscommon - your videos have been extremely helpful and motivating, we’re now sure we’re doing the right thing!!
Thanks again for another wonderful video Kayvan and Cori, just watched the secret video and thank you for your deep appreciation of us Irish!! We are very lucky to have you living amongst us. I think the renovations will take a while anyway, you have accomplished so much so far and really looking forward to following along with you all on your journey towards living the dream on your wonderful Irish homestead. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and here’s to 2025!!❤🥂👍🐣🫏🪴🧄🥕🍎🍅🥔🥬🥚🏡
I vote for optimistic! Congratulations on all of your achievements so far. There are so many. We are in this with you and will continue to celebrate the journey. Happy New Year!
Love your channel! As someone who moved to West Cork 18 years ago to put own “homestead” I can relate. We had a few milking Kerry cows and after much trial and error found milking goats to be much more manageable.
Thanks for following along, a few folks have mentioned the virtues of the goats. I think we need to experience the trials and tribulations of a milk cow to see what all the fuss is about, before maybe joining the sensible folks like you :)
You two are my new best friends ( no, I know we've never met. ) i watch quite a few renovation vlogs, as I'm in the process of buying a doer-upper myself at the moment. I love what you're doing. You're a total inspiration.
That is the best compliment we could ever hope for, inspirational content is what we love to watch ourselves, so to give that back is an honour! Thanks for joining us, and good luck seeking your own dream project
@offgridirishhomestead I'm buying a place in France for 13k. Working/ living in Mongolia at the moment. I think I've got a lot diy to do in my "holidays" for about ten years. Honestly can't wait. ❤
You two honestly make me so happy. Your daughter is an added bonus. Feel like I've got a new daughter, son and granddaughter. I'm so proud of you all and can't wait to continue this journey with you. This Mama and YaYa is quite proud of my new family!! Love y'all!!
Love watching you two work as a couple, am married to someone who doesn't want to know about the problems of household, my job or anything else. But it's what happens to all Farmers wives you either have to work on the farm with them, or work in a job with no issues. Farming is 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days of farming.
Thanks for the Q.A GUYS THAT WAS VERY INTERESTING, even better is all the bloopers at the end. I love the flatpack caravan idea.😂😂 look forward to your videos for the upcoming year and the progress and I’ll finish by saying I wish you all a very happy and productive New Year😊
it's not that i think the renovation is slow, I'm just getting nervous on your behalf about the looming deadline for the house being habitable 🤔🥴 All the same your show is something i look forward to on a Sunday, I love hearing the english banter it makes me feel at home.
I found your channel about 6 months ago. You are a wonderful couple. I recently retired & find my self looking for similar channels on homesteading like yours. My wife & I recently purchased a mountain cabin in western NC. I hope to bring some off gridding/homesteading/renovating to that property. We spent a couple weeks in Ireland a couple years ago & I personally found it to be a location I could find as home. As with alot of Americans, I too have ancestry from your part of the world. PS-I smile a lot while watching your channel.
After everything you've been doing there, I'm surprised you're both still standing! Happy healthy New Year to you all ❤ and keep laughing and cry when you need to, it can help 😂 we aren't homesteading in Ireland but sold out house which was lovely and comfortable to live on a boat and it's definitely not been straight forward, it's had its ups and downs, still not sure it's for us yet who knows what the future will bring. But keep doing what you're doing because it's going to be great and your cottage will be fantastic. 😊x
Sunday afternoon video…..sounds like some folks are extra busy giving all that “begged for advice’☘️😔 Your family will benefit from getting kind advice and it’s probably not too comfortable getting the nosy? advice, God bless you from USA in our most loved other country….always stay your way…it’s great. Mary
loving the renovations and watching the videos, lots of hard work being done! hopefully will give me me the courage to make the leap into my own homestead
Kayvan is spot on about staving off dementia, keeping mentally active, a good sugar free diet, etc, are important. As are racquet sports apparently, or even juggling. So there's another use for those swedes. Perhaps you can set out a deck tennis court? Or road bowling along the lane. Thanks for sharing this, the humour is great, even the unsaid ones. I'm sure you have brought some lovely energy to your local community. Best wishes for 2025.
Having built two new homes in the Alaskan bush with my now late husband, I can certainly empathize with the amount of man hours it takes to build. Weather always the most determining factor. In the end you’ll have the pride in knowing your own self reliance, determination and grit made a home for your family. Safety always, and prayers for a happy New Year.
The rainy day escapades with the ponys was glorious! There's nothing wrong with going up and down that hill...what a great way to stay fit! Ireland is such a beautiful place( when it's not raining). Best wishes for the New Year!❤
I always have a fixed smile on my face watching you two from start to finish . And your beautiful daughter has a combo of your sense of humour, Cutest couple on you tube,,,,,,,, love from Australia
I really enjoy your videos and the great sense of humour you both have. I'm sure the local community is pleased to have you in the "hub so to speak" plus the extra produce😊
I must say watching this yesterday I feel terrible for all the hard work that you are going true I hope that the weather for 2025 is not as bad I wish you all the best with your life in rip-off Ireland and I'm glad that you're getting the grant happy new year
We’ve been in our trailer for the forth winter now I work construction so yes you are correct, no energy when we I get home Hopefully last year🙏 you are doing a great job! No pain no gain right! It takes a lot of grit to jump into a project your size. You inspire us all🙏💕 happy new year 🥳
We did a total reno on our house on a 5-acre lot in Canada, from the top of the chimney to digging up the foundation. It will all work out and look fantastic in the end. and yes you are not the only one to tip a mini-ex. I recommend a 4-wheel drive diesel loader lawn mower combo, it's a total game changer.
Really enjoy having watched your content from the start, thank the algorithms for that, they can spot a sadwap like me from a mile away! It’s great what you’re all doing and I appreciate the explanation about the ponies. As an aspiring smallholder though you’d be forgiven for working the one that can be trained, unless you rather intend your place to be a sanctuary, which would be equally admirable , if not as self sustaining.
I think people think it’s taking a long time because they are so used to watching time lapses videos or paying professionals to do it in a month, you are doing great, also things slow in winter with weather problems and when you are working full time jobs too. xxx
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. I will definitely be watching in 2025. I look forward to your videos every week. I love the way you interact between the two of you. Keep up the good work and good luck ☘️
You both bring a smile to our faces. Do you watch 'THE SCOTTERS go off-grid' who homestead in Portugal? They have a similar fun positive vibe building their off stead home.
I hope you all had a truly lovely Christmas and I wish you a very Happy and productive New Year. You two are an absolute delight to watch, your smiles, laughs, attitude and sheer hard work ethic is a delight to see, even in the face of potential disasters you find something to smile or laugh about, great attitude. Keep up the good work, just love your channel. Much love from Australia xx
Happy New Year to your family and friends and looking forward to seeing what you have in store for 2025! It's going to be an epic year for your family and myself as well! 🎉❤😁
We enjoy your channel more than any other we watch and we watch a few! Your perseverance is inspiring! Our trip to Ireland is planned for the first of May so maybe we will run in to you both getting fish and chips! Crack on and thank you!❤
We are honoured - thank you for your kind comment, we appreciate you. If you are planning to head down to the SW, let us know we can recommend some decent fish and chips :)
Hubby and I planned our entire retirement around a newly acquired 37 foot Georgetown Bus. After spending about 2 years in it, it became exceedingly apparent that these units were NOT really made for full-time living. Leaks are common and things are just plastic for the most part. I can certainly empathize with how many things have gone wrong in your camper. You are champions of keeping a light heart on all you do on your homestead. It will all pay off in the end. Cheers!
Wow - 37 foot bus sounds great, our campervan is 24 foot, which was already challenging to navigate on some of the tighter roads around towns - you guys must be some special drivers!
Hi folks! Look forward to your videos each week! Thank you for sharing your journey…I think all three of you are incredibly courageous to take on such a new lifestyle and an epic renovation with such enthusiasm and good humour! Looking forward to following along with your vegetable garden in 2025…my little piece of the country is my Alottment and I’ve had mixed results…amazed at your success in your first year planting. Happy New Year🎉🎉
Reading the self sufficiency book by @HuwRichards showing just how much sustainence can be created from an allotment sized plot. Happy new year to you, thanks for following along
Brilliant vlog guys. The bloopers had me laughing so much my cheeks hurt. You have both worked hard so far. I love watching your videos each week, watching the progress you're making. Take care and stay safe. Happy new year 2025.
A farm near us grows garlic as their primary crop. I can attest that it's amazingly delicious -- no relation to store-bought -- as they sell it to their neighbors (along with other produce) at a farm stand. They also supply local restaurants. QED: Garlic is a great crop.
So, five jobs. Each. the cottage, the homestead, the day job, the youtube, and looking after the people and animals that depend on you. All while cooking and cleaning in a caravan. In winter. Most people can't do that, especially for more than a week or two. Hats off.

Lovely sentiment thank you!
Slowest renovation?? I don’t think so and who cares? It’s about the journey not the destination! I love your videos!! Blessings in the new year!
You just can’t win with some people can you, it’s a mammoth task, but some folk don’t understand do they .

Rescues don't leave horses where they don't have everything they need. Try getting one sometime, the hoops you jump through are impressive

Hope you had a lovely Christmas and here’s to 2025!!❤🥂👍🐣🫏🪴🧄🥕🍎🍅🥔🥬🥚🏡
Thanks for following along. Happy new year
Yay for the bloopers and my fave being number 1 😋 the hotness one was hilarious too 😂
I vote for optimistic! Congratulations on all of your achievements so far. There are so many. We are in this with you and will continue to celebrate the journey. Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
Amazing job so far!!! Really impressive work. It is wonderful seeing both husband and wife working together.
Thanks a mil!
I love you guys, you make my day brighter every time I watch your videos! 🥰
We appreciate you
Love your channel!
All the best to you all in 2025🎉!! Looking forward to following your renovation journey.
You both are just wonderful be proud that you work and make your iwn way you are doing a grand job all round tc now the oldies 👍👍💐
Thanks a mil - we appreciate you. Happy new year
You two are my new best friends ( no, I know we've never met. ) i watch quite a few renovation vlogs, as I'm in the process of buying a doer-upper myself at the moment.
Thank you - we appreciate you!
You go at whatever pace suits you. This is a lifetime project and sometimes you have to stop and ponder a problem before solving it.
The pondering is the most important part
Great to see your progress. Glad you are living your dream. Thanks for all the videos. All the best 🇬🇧.
I love the flatpack caravan idea.😂😂 look forward to your videos for the upcoming year and the progress and I’ll finish by saying I wish you all a very happy and productive New Year😊
it's not that i think the renovation is slow, I'm just getting nervous on your behalf about the looming deadline for the house being habitable 🤔🥴
All the same your show is something i look forward to on a Sunday, I love hearing the english banter it makes me feel at home.
Sounds like you have an exciting project ahead! Thanks for following along
Wonderful video once again!!!❤❤❤❤
All the laughing at the end just made my day! 😂 you two are too cute!
Who knows what the future will bring indeed!
Follow your dreams - thanks for joining us for the ride!
Your honesty and gratitude really shines through. Wishing you the very best in renovating your home. Keep it up folks. Luv from Brum❤
Appreciate your comments - thanks a mil. Happy new year
You look the bees knees with all you're gifted gear. Such kind folks ❤
Our community are the best!
Best wishes for the New Year!❤
Happy new year!
I always have a fixed smile on my face watching you two from start to finish . And your beautiful daughter has a combo of your sense of humour, Cutest couple on you tube,,,,,,,, love from Australia
We couldn't ask for a better outcome, we are pleased you enjoy. Thanks for following along
Guaranteed a smile, watching your channel, on a Sunday. Take care and have a lovely New Year.
Woot - thanks for following along! Happy new year
You are both doing an amazing job. Keep up the good work and most of all keep smiling ❤l
Happy new year!
I really enjoy your videos and the great sense of humour you both have. I'm sure the local community is pleased to have you in the "hub so to speak" plus the extra produce😊
Thanks a mil - we appreciate you.
@offgridirishhomestead thank you for replying to me ... I feel honoured...!🙂
I must say watching this yesterday I feel terrible for all the hard work that you are going true I hope that the weather for 2025 is not as bad I wish you all the best with your life in rip-off Ireland and I'm glad that you're getting the grant happy new year
Thanks a mil for your good wishes. 2024 weather was certainly a bit of a surprise, hopefully can only go one way from here.
Your progress isn't slow at all. There's one channel where they are in year 4 of their reno and they don't seem to be in any hurry either!
Thanks for the bloopers! Best laughs of the week😂
Merry Christmas to you all …. Thanks for taking us on this amazing adventure 🇦🇺💕
Thanks for being part of our community and continuing to leave us wonderful comments, we appreciate you
I don’t comment very often but I just wanted to say that I love watching you guys and I hope the new year brings health & happiness xxx
Your comment is very much appreciated - thanks a mil. Happy new year
We’ve been in our trailer for the forth winter now
I work construction so yes you are correct, no energy when we I get home
Hopefully last year🙏 you are doing a great job! No pain no gain right! It takes a lot of grit to jump into a project your size. You inspire us all🙏💕 happy new year 🥳
We wish you all the best getting your renovation done. It makes us very pleased to provide you with inspiration. Thanks for being along for the ride
Kvan your sweater is lovely, looks warm😊
I had actually bought this years ago while still living in the UK. From Aran Sweater market, it is my go to lounging sweater
4-wheel drive diesel loader lawn mower sounds epic!
Ponies are beautiful. I think everything you do is great!
They are gorgeous aren't they.
Wishing you all the best for your future in your property and land.happy new year to you all 🎉🍾🥂
Thanks a mil
Hello from Connecticut in the U.S. So glad to see your video today!
Connecticut - woot!
Hi from Wisconsin. Thanks for update
Wisconsin - woot!
I think people think it’s taking a long time because they are so used to watching time lapses videos or paying professionals to do it in a month, you are doing great, also things slow in winter with weather problems and when you are working full time jobs too. xxx
Just love y’all!!! See you next year ✌️❤️
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. I will definitely be watching in 2025. I look forward to your videos every week. I love the way you interact between the two of you. Keep up the good work and good luck ☘️
We appreciate you
You both bring a smile to our faces. Do you watch 'THE SCOTTERS go off-grid' who homestead in Portugal? They have a similar fun positive vibe building their off stead home.
Love them too 😊
We haven't seen them - will check them out thanks!
Just want to wish you three a very happy and productive new year.
We appreciate you - happy new year
Happy New Year to your family and friends and looking forward to seeing what you have in store for 2025! It's going to be an epic year for your family and myself as well! 🎉❤😁
You two are so much fun your bloopers had me rolling in laughter!
@offgridirishhomestead Killarney, Dingle, Adare and Limerick are a few of our planned stops!
I love how you are always dressed cosy, love the cable knitted jersey , and the cosy scarve. Great to follow you along xxxx
@offgridirishhomestead Towing a Jeep!! Thru the Rocky Mountains. LOL You wouldn't find me behind the wheel! Luckily it was Canada not Ireland!!
Wishing you at the best for 2025, love following your journey!
Thanks a mil

You make even the Q&As funny, in fact you are pretty awesome all of you. I am looking forward to seeing more in 2025.
We appreciate you
I so look forward to your videos on Sunday. You guys do such a great job going through all the renovations and staying so positive!😊
I watch renos that go on for years..yours is going at a normal pace. Not sure what the commenter is use to...but your pace is very normal.

A farm near us grows garlic as their primary crop. I can attest that it's amazingly delicious -- no relation to store-bought -- as they sell it to their neighbors (along with other produce) at a farm stand. They also supply local restaurants. QED: Garlic is a great crop.
Woot! Can't wait to try our own homegrown
Your outtakes always get me chuckling.
