I have to give it up to her. She's STYLISH. It's refreshing to see a Chinese gymnast with upbeat music, and some of her dance elements remind me of Silivas. I think it would be cool to see her incorporate some hiphop choreography into this routing though, or even put some classical music into the mix for her dance portions, then bust out the house music for her passes...

That’s exactly what I said a couple months back. I would say slightly better than Cheng Fei even, maybe not as much power but execution wise.

How did they find almost 1.5 of deduction? I mean yes, she fell out of this first spin and had mini tiny hops after the third and fourth pass. And (at least from this angle) the last leap lacks a little bit in precision. But the other spin was pretty controlled ... Twisting form and double tuck are perfection. And she has artistry and style. And Lee scored 8.5, Biles above 8.4 and Derwael even 8.6 at worlds quals (I feel like the qualification is often a bit stricter, than the finals) ...
Can someone explain?

I'm with you on this one I think she was definitely underscored, but that's just how it's been for the Chinese 😩

Well she didn’t finish the last turn and she bent her legs early on what was supposed to be a front pike, and I guess they found some artistry deductions.

Was not expecting this music and choreography from a chinese gymnast! I like it, but she has such great dance, that in my personal opinion I think that the "house" type music is a slight waste of her talent. She has the grace, flow and artistry that russian gymnastics is known for. I think if she picked a more classical music selection it would highlight how amazing her dance really is! Either way though what an awesome talent! Hope she can stay healthy and upgrade in time for tokyo. If she does she could have a real shot at some medals!!!!

I love this routine very much and it’s one of my favorites but I do agree with you. I think that’s why the 2023 Antwerp team selected more traditional Chinese music. When Liang Qiao took over, he wanted to promote a friendlier and fun environment, dropping the stricter coaching methods of the past. That’s why you heard gymnasts use Pitbull, Ed Sheeran, etc. as their music choice with modern dance. But now, they are incorporating more traditional Chinese dance in their choreography as well as music, which is also very welcomed in my opinion. I’m Chinese, so I’m a fan of the traditional style myself.
