- Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Full disclosure, I get a few airline miles for referring a new customer. You should get the same public offer at no additional cost. Thank you very much.

If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.
I don't know whow you do it, but you capture BKK's atmosphere so much better, than most other TH-camrs. I LOVE your videos and can't wait to be back in Nov24
Hey I appreciate that. I'm just a regular guy looking around. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for another educational tour. I've lived in Ari for nearly a year n never registered the Miles craft beer & Thai food place. The dome building is called Pearl, I think. Also -- the person who recommended the stick deodorant store makes a brief cameo around 5:30.
Thanks for watching. I caught you on video? That's funny. A million people in town and I run into the same people.
Yes -- Nice coincidence. Was walking home from the gym and recognized your voice. @@EagerExpat
@@seanwashburn3658 Cool man, you should have said hi. You live in a nice part of town
I thought about it. You were working and I'm introverted@@EagerExpat
@seanwashburn3658 It's not work, I'm just goofing off. Next time, say hi
I walked around Ari in 2019 as i heard that it was a new and upcoming area of BKK. I walked down the Soi where the Dome or Egg Building is and observed the neighborhood. It was nice and kind of quiet. I got the feeling there were not too many ExPats living in the area at the time. I thought to myself that the Rents may be a little cheaper and probably a good value since the neighborhood has a Skytrain Station. It appears from your walk Joe that there may be a few more businesses that popped up since i was there 4 years ago
Yes, that area is really busy. But, I think there are some bargains to be found. It's not that far from Central Bangkok
Prices have gone up like crazy, it's the new hip district. On Airbnb it's more expensive there than even in the business districts or Thong Lor / Phrom Phong. I asked ChatGPT and Bard and even they said prices appear marginally more expensive than those other areas. I know people who're moving there. The slightly smaller scale and artisanal cafes and hipster places make it more livable than the concrete jungle Sukhumvit areas.
Thanks so much for another great video, much appreciated! Especially helpful are your naming of the condos there, helps to research them :) I'm coming to Bangkok for 3 months from next month and am really looking for the most walkable, most livable, most relaxed and kinda most bohemian district. Ari seems to tick many boxes - but it's super expensive now it seems, even more expensive than Thong Lor or Phrom Phong now! What is your impression of Ari, do you feel those smaller streets and lower condo buildings are some of the most walkable in Bangkok? How would you pit it again Phrom Phong? Thanks!
Anywhere in Bangkok is walkable. All of my videos are within 6 streets of a BTS or Subway. Ari is OK, but it's too quiet for me. I like Phrom Phong. It's all going up in price like anywhere in the world. You're going to pay more for less than a 12-month lease. It's all lifestyle. I'm a nite owl. Phrom Phong, Asoke, etc.. is 24 hours. Ari is a ghost town at 10 or 11pm. For me, that's good to visit, but not live. For others, they may like that. I'd get a 45-day Airbnb in each area. They're both on the BTS, maybe 20 minutes apart. Have a good trip
@@EagerExpat Thanks for your response, appreciate it! Yeah I'm doing monthly Airbnbs. The first one is actually in Sathorn, Surasak. Should've booked Chong Nonsi instead lol, any thoughts? Then moving onto a Noble on Sukhumvit 33 Phrom Phong for a month, I'm hoping the area will offer me a "Japanese vibe" and hopefully nice walkability. Ari is definitely a consideration, if it gets quiet in the evening I don't mind. The streets you're walking down there look smaller and a bit quieter, I like that. I don't agree that all of Bangkok is walkable. Some parts make you don't wanna leave your condo ever, and use constant transportation literally doorstep to doorstep. Hoping Phrom Phong will be nice for that. Can't afford Wireless Rd lol, and it's probably boring anyway haha. Apparently, Phrom Phong is still more walkable than Ekkamai or Asok etc.
@marsfuture You'll have a great trip.
@@EagerExpat Appreciate your informative content and sound advice, sir. Keep up the good work :)
Hi Joe, really enjoy your neighborhood walk. Would love to see "The Fortune Town" neighborhood if you have the opportunity. Thank you so much
I'll put that in the rotation. Thanks for checking in
1) you might want to add a screen shot of google maps of the area being video-ed (that would give us some points of reference to follow along).
2) how about health care? do you have to maintain the Obamacare account in the US? if you don't, then when you decide to move back to the States, would you be penalized for being lapsed? Thanks
You can't legally use Google maps on a monetized video. I put the camera on every sign post for a point of reference. It's a major intersection. You'll have to Google it if you'd like to see it. Some people do, but they risk a copywrite strike for using the map illegally. I use Blue Cross Federal anywhere in the world. A benefit I have for being a retired federal worker
How did you like ari compared to on nut?
Ari is fine, but I like On Nut a little more. I'm usually hanging out in Phrom Phong and it's closer. Plus, the Lotus at the BTS On Nut made life easy.
