    I have been following this serie with lots of interest and enjoyment. Very satisfactory to watch with nice background music and no 'interesting' talks and explanation. I came here because I searched for DR650. I'm pretty sure your views will rise steeply if you would do the same with a more familiar bike. End result looks real nice. Great job! 👍

    Nice job on the bike! I learned quite a lot from the videos; different techniques, and products that I have not seen before. I'll be back to watch more videos! Thanks for sharing!

    Really nice work my friend!
    Did you do any work on the suspensions?

      Left the suspension stock, just adjusted the rear to be a little bit stiffer.

      @restorationvalve thank you for your reply. I'm afraid the link doesn't work anymore. Is there maybe an other way to find this windscreen?

    Curiosity: how much is a DR650 RSE, like yours, worth in your market (Latvia, right?)? In Brazil, I would say EUR 1.500 for a regular one, and around EUR 2K - 3K, for one restored as yours.

    • @restorationvalve
      @restorationvalve  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here in Latvia they go for the same amount, at least the one or two that we have.
      Next door in Lithuania we have more bikes to chose from with better prices.

    Amazing job!! How much work would it take and which parts do I need to buy to add an electric starter option to my 1994 DR 650 that only has a kick start? Hard to find any solid info on the internet. Thank you!

    • @roy993
      @roy993 ปีที่แล้ว

      How would all this work with the decompression valve?

    • @restorationvalve
      @restorationvalve  ปีที่แล้ว

      When Suzuki added the electrical starter, they added quite a lot of parts.
      You would need all of these parts- the magnet, windings, find all of the starter sprockets, the starter, relay, modify the wiring harness, battery, voltage regulator, the electrical de-compressor, valve cover because the electrical decompressor is on the left side, starter switch and the left engine cover with the spacer plate plus gaskets.
      Also, the crank shaft is different, the electrical one is longer on the left side to accommodate the starter clutch.
      In my opinion, adding a electrical starter isn’t impossible, but it’s not easy, especially when you need to find the part from used bikes because most of them aren’t sold anymore.
      The cheapest route would be to buy a good donor

      @restorationvalve  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roy993 the kick starter bikes have a manual decompressor, the electric starter ones have a electric decompressor. If you want you could leave the manual one, hard to say how it would all work. The electrical decompressor only activates for 1-2sec when you press the start button.

    Hi mate. I've just got my self a DR650RS 1991 here in Australia.
    Was just wondering what cleaning chemicals you were using on the tail light and plastics?

    Looks great! I have the exact same bike. I can really recommend you these guards: www.dr-big-shop.de/4145_MotorTankSchutz_1108.html
    They look good and will protect the engine and plastics in case you drop it :)
    Enjoy the DR!

      Hi,
      Interesting that you suggested these.
      Have ordered a set of these from rdmoto.eu, and I'm awaiting delivery on them as we speak.
      Definitely a video for the future.

    • @thomasbakker1527

      Perfect! Mines are also from RDmoto. They fit without any modifications and the hardware is good. I have them on for over a year now, they start to show little signs of rust nearby the edges where the bolts are so make sure to grease those areas! Have fun with the bike :) Cheers from Holland!
