You're going to hate it at first. Plain and simple, then after about 6-8 hours of in game time you're going to get the hang of it and it's nuances and start to get good at it and really start to enjoy it. It's more difficult for sure, but more rewarding when you hit things good lap after lap because they're that much harder. Bottom line, give it a chance, don't play it for 45 minutes and get upset and never touch it again.

Greatest mx game of all time... first game I can shred on handlebar view and get the feel of actually riding. Coming into a triple hot and slamming a scrub feels so good on this game. My first impressions were not great but once you put some serious time into it, it’s amazing. I’ve done 12 SX championships and I’m still not bored of the tracks
The only problem with them doing the outdoor nationals is licensing. With SX FIELD owns the rights to all the tracks. With the outdoors each track owns their own rights and licensing. They might be able to get some of the tracks but not all of them. Some track owners are all for it but others either want nothing to do with it and out right refuse to give licensing privileges and others what ungodly amounts of money for the licensing. Where they might have better luck is with the local tracks like Thusday Night Motocross in Portland OR., Swan MX in Swan Creek TX., Ponca MX in Ponca OK., or even Loretta Lynn's (since Loretta's has already been featured in a game). Which I think it would be cool to see a game based on an amateur series like the Road to Loretta's or the Road to Mammoth. Where you go through the local tracks of you region prepping for the area and regional qualifiers to make it to Loretta's.
I got this game a couple months ago. I would recommend it. Just like Whindam151 said if you just give it some time, and be patient it will most likely grow on you. When I first got it, I was excited!! Then I played it and was a little disappointed. But I just kept playing and playing. Soon I loved the game. If you are someone that is looking for something with a learning curve and some fun with some hard places then game is for you. I hope this helped you.

It definitely took me a little bit to get to get adjusted to this game but once you get used to it and start upgrading you’re character and bike, railing the steep corners and hitting the big lines is so much more satisfying than the first game
Yet another complaint I have is that carrying ur momentum through conners is next to impossible u have so slow down so much to turn by the time u get out of the corner ur in 1or 2 gear

I like how they put the physics and stuff, but tighter corners are a tough thing to do. Compound tracks are great (I already unlocked them all) and my favorite is the one in the corn field. The reason why the cornering is weird is because if you are making a right turn you turn sightly left first and vice versa. This feature was added to stop drifting according to the in game tips
Terrain deformation actually works online Windham. Been playing in 10 minute motos with a full lobby and it starts shaping up. Definitely agree with you on a lot of things mentioned. Did not enjoy the training component at all in career. 2 lites championships and 2 1/2 450 championships until I got all the stars in the training. Way too time consuming and reparative for the average player. Another good video! Now let’s see some online battles!
i love the game, back in the day i was playing mx vs atv games and always looked for a way to play them that mkes the game more realistic, the realistic look and feel of the game is what sold it for me. anyone in the comments that is looking for a realistic game, this game is for you. i got it on release and havent stopped playing it since.
Really wish we could get legit Sponsorships for bike graphics and at least helmets. Also ditch the whip control to a smoother reflex whip. Bring back 2strokes and much more. I like the game for first milestone game because of the difficulty but small things would be greay
"Forced" isn't the term I'd use to justify locking the compound tracks. The challenges to unlock them aren't even hard, you do a few rider challenges and boom you're done, enjoy you're new track. People would check out the career regardless of that since it was marketed so heavily but saying they're forcing you to play the career is a bit much to me.
ghost dad If I’m not wrong you HAVE TO play the career to do the training and unlock stuff. Of course, you could use a Pro Rider, but we all know people like using their own... So.. If you don’t see that being FORCED on you to be able to play the game, I don’t know what it is, then...
if you think unlocking things in a reasonable time frame is being forced i'd like to point you to a dictionary so you can learn what being "forced" into something truly means. By your definition all game progression is forced upon you since in every game ever you HAVE to do something to unlock it.

Looking at steam statistics, not many people are playing any MX games at one time. This is one of the tops, and around 20 people per day average right now. Is it pointless to buy this to play online if I don't have any friends who play it?
Just got off the first one on xbox about 5 minutes ago and this one looks noticeably better, rain looks way better, like that is the biggest leap, that and the mud collecting on gear while riding, a noticeable if small detail I take great joy in
Ok I've just come straight from the first game loved it got the platinum. So I thought I'll play the next one and you are totally correct the start feels slow, corners sluggish and controls just feel less responsive. But I'm sure will get used to it over time but yea it will take longer than the first one I guess that could be a good thing will see.
In the compound there is one spot that u can go under to get into the motocross track it’s near the jump that goes over the creek u can backup right on top on the barrier where there is a huge gap and just backup and turn and lean left or right. So obviously milestone wasn’t to exited to cut the player of from things (saying that is a bad thing not a good thing) (Sorry that was pretty unclear don’t have the game, played it at my friends house and figured that out)
Another point to add is the auto generation for the tough blocks is not correct at all if the inside and outside part of the corner is split there will be a tough block in the middle of the track it really seems like they just were worried about pleasing their sponsors than their users

But seeing videos of it after playing this one, this one seems way better for the simple fact you can't just jump into corners and blast through em so easily. This one feels like you gotta have some technique to hit a corner good. Least that's how it seems to me.
how do you look up someone elses track to ride on? im playing on xbox and myself and my buddy have made tracks and we can figure out how to race them online for the life of us! They are validated and everything for sure, it said i uploaded it, but we cant even figure out how to look other peoples up online, the only online tracks we can find are the one on the "most liked" and "most downloaded" lists.
They work on scanning in riders and doing the tracks during the current year the game is being made. Its similar with MXGP games, its always 1 year behind.
Another complaint I have is that the Husky has two kill switches, I don’t know if it’s like that for other bikes but it definitely is something on the husky 250
I got it on PC and I don’t have the best PC and it barely runs. I seem to run other games fine but I have to run this game on all the lowest settings, PLUS 50% resolution which makes it look like MX Unleashed. Am I missing something or is it just my PC?
What about loading times? You had to wait more than 60seconds in the first game for a track to load and also 60+seconds after every session on the oroginal xbox. Is it better this time?

I bought the game, and played it for maybe three hours. After three hours of play time I was so frustrated with the game and did not have fun. Took it right back to the store. I enjoy watching it, but will stick with mx vs atv and mxgp. Not worth it in my opinion
i was the same with mxgp pro. the first hour i absolutely hated it and regretted buying it, but after that i started to like it more and more. after two hours i loved it :P and this game is way better, imo.
The only reason i haven’t bought it is because people say the physics are like mxgp pro and I can honestly say I hated the Corning on that game it was like u ride slowly around the corner or u drift around it and then do a backflip off the bike and it pissed me off it was so slow so Am sure am not going back to that
The Reflex training is the most aggravating and glitchy part of the game hands down. Also let's see more than 5-6 tracks. Gets REALY boring quick. I only play on tracks I've made now because of how stale the stock ones are. The compound is also garbage
I see so many complaints about the AI, and in all fairness in SX1, they were pretty trash. But in SX2, both series are MUCH better with the Ai pace.. IF.. you ride and play the game realistically. Aiming to land on downslopes rather than overshooting just cause you can, following normal lines and trying to race cleanly. (Much more fun to do it like that tbh because its much more of a challenge, and it's so satisfying to string together multiple clean laps). It can still depend on the track, AI at Oakland are shit while AI at San Diego are pretty good, but on average it's much more fun to play it that way.
One more question, I just ran and won the 450 championship. Started the next season and never got the #1 plate. Did this happen to anyone else??? Kinda mad, I wanted that plate!!!!
The AI difficulty in the 250s is my only real gripe. On some of the tracks I’m better at I can lap into the top 10 in a short race. 450s are a genuine challenge though.
Can someone tell me if they got rid of the ridiculous fan whistling from the first game? In SX1 you can’t turn the annoying noise down and they have the same whistling prick at all the events whistling the same thing for the whole race. Wtf is that? Incredibly stupid whoever is responsible for that. So yeah, anyone? Whistling gone in 2? Cause then I’ll buy it and replace 1 which I otherwise love.
High key this game is not worth buying still no factory team signs like still the same game where AI has the best gear dam at least be able to own your own racing team once you won a champion chip :(
They dont have the basic brands like in 1 had? Oakley etc... what killed me was the jersey numbers , i want authentic gear on my rider, not just the print on the material, i want a full dope looking outfit, name look and number design have NEVER BEEN TO PAR.
There are a lot of glitches. You also left out the credit system: earning the same amount of money on realistic vs very easy difficulty. There is NO bonus for winning on realistic physics and difficulty. Might as well grind on very easy to guarentee wins and cash
Thanks for pointing that out. Guess I forgot since Milestone has had the system in place for a while now. Used to matter a lot more if you played and won in realistic, shame it isnt like that.
0:55 is exactly why I cant see myself buying this game. I realize its not a sim but there is no way in hell you should be able to clear that triple after casing tf out on the face of that jump. That is in a whole different realm of arcade gaming.

Also they should put in a feature when people fall of the bike instead of reappearing on the track they should make it so the rider picks the bike back up and kick starts it if it turned off that would just make it so much more realistic but would make falling off the bike so much more fun than annoying
Milestone just can’t get their shit together. Last years game was the first motorbike racing game I’d bought since Excitebike 64 almost 20 years ago. Hearing the physics got worse this year means I’m not buying the game. Milestone are also terrible about fixing bugs. I’m not buying another Milestone game until I hear they’ve changed.

This game isnt very good. I've put 10hrs or so in it over the past 2 weeks and everything set on realistic im lapping guys in the 450 career on the 7th lap. I could pick it apart but everyone has their own opinion I geuss. Personally not a fan.

backyard shenanigans There is not on this or the first Supercross game... The biggest downfall in modern video games, for me, is the refusal to allow split screen multiplayer. Not sure about All Out (I did not buy that one after the disappointment of purchasing MX vs ATV Supercross) but from what I’ve seen I’d rather just play this single player. None of the Milestone moto games have had multiplayer. At least Reflex is back compatible.

No the game is pretty demanding you’ll need good ram and a good gpu, the cpu isn’t super important but it helps

When loading in, i would imagine the file that is loading at 60% is a larger one hence why PCs r better

There are a lot of glitches. You also left out the credit system: earning the same amount of money on realistic vs very easy difficulty. There is NO bonus for winning on realistic physics and difficulty. Might as well grind on very easy to guarentee wins and cash
Thanks for pointing that out. Guess I forgot since Milestone has had the system in place for a while now. Used to matter a lot more if you played and won in realistic, shame it isnt like that.

Also they should put in a feature when people fall of the bike instead of reappearing on the track they should make it so the rider picks the bike back up and kick starts it if it turned off that would just make it so much more realistic but would make falling off the bike so much more fun than annoying

Milestone just can’t get their shit together. Last years game was the first motorbike racing game I’d bought since Excitebike 64 almost 20 years ago. Hearing the physics got worse this year means I’m not buying the game. Milestone are also terrible about fixing bugs. I’m not buying another Milestone game until I hear they’ve changed.
The physics are better to me on this one! Much more realistic, granted there are some minor bugs. Overall this is imo the best dirt bike game!

This game isnt very good. I've put 10hrs or so in it over the past 2 weeks and everything set on realistic im lapping guys in the 450 career on the 7th lap. I could pick it apart but everyone has their own opinion I geuss. Personally not a fan.

backyard shenanigans There is not on this or the first Supercross game... The biggest downfall in modern video games, for me, is the refusal to allow split screen multiplayer. Not sure about All Out (I did not buy that one after the disappointment of purchasing MX vs ATV Supercross) but from what I’ve seen I’d rather just play this single player. None of the Milestone moto games have had multiplayer. At least Reflex is back compatible.
