Ever since TH-cams release in 2005, TH-cam speedrunners have found ways to watch this video in a whopping 10 minutes, whats problematic, is that almost 20% of that speedrun, is just spent waiting for Msushi to finish talking about todays sponsor
Luckily users found that if they tap the right side of their screen 7 times in quick succession they could skip the sponsor completely, this saves exactly 60 seconds.
I dont want to be mean or anything but this skip seems like a huge oversight, the explanation made perfect sense, why has no one tried this earlier? :o

Right? Theres so many props in that room and a very thin wall. in the source engine it's like the perfect room to clip out of, at least I thought.
I am baffled how this wasnt discovered sooner. In the past even i have tried using the radio and the the closing glass of the bed to clip out of the wall. But, it just didnt happen
Things always seem obvious after they are discovered, we knew you could get stuck in the glass but only temporarily, and there are just plenty of different variables. First of all, you have to be crouched in the back side of the bed which makes no sense why, then you have to uncrouch as the glass closes. Specifically press jump at a specific time so you get pushed backwards, then wait 3 seconds, shove the radio downwards, and then start save loading in a specific rhythm. Doing any other deviations either makes it impossible or grossly inconsistent. Before finding this route, I screwed around with the bed for almost 4 hours before actually finding progress. Typically people would give up after not getting any results for a few minutes, but I decided to keep looking for something. Because usually when finding new glitches/mechanics you’re betting your time whether it might work or not, and 99.99% of the time it won’t.

Wow! Even before I've ever heard of speedrunning, from the first time I played Portal I wanted to skip that chamber. Even when I wasn't interested in it at all, and I think many other players had that urge too. That's not only a speedrunning trick to me. It's something I've always wanted. A way to break free from that glass chamber and surprise GLaDOS. To me, that is the ultimate skip in Portal, the thing that we always wanted to have. There might be other more complex, but that's the one. Feels so good to finally have it.

I always wondered if it could be used as a clip, but I'm not a speedrunner and didn't know about the quickload momentum conservation deal. Super neat to see Source continually broken!
