Good old country again...I like this guy's performance. I'm sure that Hank Williams himself would be glad to hear him

Let me begin with the waiver that while I have a pretty good grasp on grammar, my punctuation is going to appall you. With that being said, I hope the content of your reply to this touches only lightly on the topic. Reader note: the tone of this reply is upbeat. I ain't mad.
I'm sorry you disapprove, sir. Most importantly, I should clarify to you, sir and anyone else who might be reading, this song was legally licensed for use on the program "Texas Pickin' Party". I understand that every time it is aired for broadcast, the proper organizations collect on behalf of the publishing company/artist('s estate). I am a member of ASCAP myself, and certainly appreciate the importance of mechanical fees and royalties. Basically there are no criteria for any legal action from the Estate. I would, without hesitation, comply with a request to cease performing anyone's material with notification from them or their representative. Jett is actually a very sweet friend of mine with whom I have had the pleasure of performing with (as Hank), and has been so far very supportive and encouraging of my performance of her father's material. And I'm sure her late husband (and attorney) Keith would have informed me of any objection the last time I saw them at an event where she and I were both performing, several years ago.
As for you other remarks, I agree wholeheartedly that I am definitely no Hank Williams. He was the greatest singing entertainer, ever. Nothing I will ever do can even come close to the brilliance of that man. I haven't, to my memory, ever played at an amusement park, although I did play at a Christmas festival next door to Six Flags in Arlington, TX (so I guess that's kinda the same thing, huh?). But anyway we were just playing Christmas tunes that night, so I didn't do any Hank Williams songs. Actually, since about four years ago, very little of my repertoire is from Hank's catalogue. I mean, I still do a tribute show here and there, but I mostly play a mix of traditional country stuff and original tunes. (When I can get a gig; you know how it is...)
To be honest, I am a bit embarrassed that this video is "out there". And it's all on me. These guys are some of the best musicians I have ever worked with, and each of them is an amazing guy, so I'm glad this is up for them to be seen. But let me be the first to point out my horrible performance (I hope you didn't mean that I myself am horrible. That would hurt. Meet me first. Hey, good idea! I keep a master guest list for all of my shows. If I ever play your town, you get in free. If you don't enjoy the show, I'd like to hear from you personally rather than read it on the internet somewhere. That sort of hurts a guy.)
Anyway, this was filmed in 2011 or 2012, and honestly I was an amateur. I was actually working full-time as a police officer back then (and clearly not eating well), so I didn't spend much time developing any sort of stage presence. And admittedly, I was trying way too hard to sound like Hank, and with the compression on the audio, well... let's just say it's not going to sound the best; I don't care what kind of speakers you use. The band, again, great! Professionals, through and through; I can't say it enough! In this particular scenario, yes I was impersonating him (albeit poorly by some accounts. I honestly didn't think it was my worst run; you should hear some of the demos I did as a teenager, if you think this is horrible.), but I don't think I meet the criteria to be considered an impersonator; not since four years ago. That's when my life changed (I won't go on about that; maybe I'll write a book someday).
Since this clip originally aired, you could say God has been good to me. I feel like I've improved drastically. I've enjoyed a so-far successful career, and have been surprised by the overseas response, which is all thanks to some amazing disc jockeys all over Europe and in Australia (Cheers, Eddie!). If there are countries outside of those two continents where I'm on the radio, I haven't heard. I'm not widely known here in the US, but I have some of the best fans scattered across the country. They're the reason I keep going, because honestly, I've never been truly impressed by my own voice. I hit a sweet note now and then, but I'm no Marty Robbins. I did chart on the Texas Regional Radio Report Top 100 a few years ago, (and no lie, I joke about this onstage) my song peaked at number 98 (anticlimactic banter while the band tunes up).
Anyway, like I said, I'd like to invite you to come to any show in any town. You'll be on the guest list, Mr. Crouse, plus one in case you have company. If you let me know ahead of time, I'll make sure the staff knows you're my guest and I'll get you preferred seating if the venue is able to accommodate that. I recommend the middle of the room in an auditorium, or just opposite the dance floor from the stage at a bar/club/amusement park.
If your evening is not enjoyable, let the bartender know, and have a drink on me.
      Cheers!
      Jake
