@@Strepiteof course it is, but in order for autotune to work you still have to hit the notes at least approximately so it's safe to say he's not completely tone-deaf
Rob Swire really has a hypnotizing voice. Added to that is his "cool" posture. Everyone's going crazy, yet he is extremely calm. He gives the "craziness" and the energy to his voice, yet he stays calm, which is quite remarkable.
He said once during an AMA that Glastonbury 2011 had one of the worst crowd he ever lived on a stage. People who was there watching Pendulum was people who went basically to watch Beyonce so you can make an idea of the audience. That's the reason of his face during the whole show. By the way, Rob is a genius
@@YeensWrath Rob does however use heavy vocal effects in songs like The Other Side. In fact there is one he uses in The Other Side that sounds a bit like autotune but I think that might just be a vocoder. That being said the dude can sing perfectly well without them.
The sound engineers messed up on one song during their set at Rock Am Ring and it recorded the direct imput from his mic. His voice without all of the effects is... not the best, lol.
That guy, the MC. I really want to be him... Yeah, I really want to be him... or have someone like him in my bands. Jumping around from one corner of the stage to the other, cheering the crowd... It's just beautiful... It's like a job of its own.
He has a strong voice but as you say he always seems to try to make Pendulum's live performances sound as close to the original as possible. I think it's something the band care a lot about which is brilliant for the listener. However you can tell he has good vocals by how he is able to hold onto the note for a long time without cracking when he sings 'Take me out of here' weak vocalists would struggle to maintain the strength. The whole sound is not synthesized as otherwise the noise wouldn't stop at exactly the same time he stops actually singing. If you've heard his performance of Self vs Self he uses auto tune a Lot less.
One the best live electronic performances ive seen. Them and acts like The Prodigy, Faithless, Chase and Status, Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip, Stereo Mcs, Dub Fx, Dreadzone, AllFlaws
@DrumBum561 And an MC's role in a Drum & Bass performance is vital because they keep the crowd moving. Drum & Bass would not be the same without crowd involvement.
@brokenmyteapot the crowd was so packed no one could move... apart from 5 days camping and the heat, everyone had a good day... and Pendulum said it's the best they've been to so it couldn't have been that bad...
5:07 BEN: 'What an incredible crowd...!' ROB: 'Incredible...yeah...sure...If only I could drink this bottle of water in peace...' :D:D Pendulum is the best.
@GermanFootballPlayer I think the members who founded it is Australian. That is Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and the DJ El Hornet. The guitarist is from Wales I think. The MC is from England. Don't know about the drummer though :/
omg i ' ve seen 2 times dj set .. 1 time in corfu; greece and another time in athens ;greece again :D but live its something else!!!! MUCH LOVE FROM GREECE!!!

I’m still staggered at Rob’s vocal delivery. He’s so good live
His voice is computer processed big time...

One of rare singers, that sound same live and on soundtrack.
It's called.. " I don't use Auto-tune " ;)

It's like the brain creating a vision that occurs in reality
It's auto tuned and edited you idiot
That crowd man, that crowd is every performers dream
+Cristian Caravan Too bad majority of them were there for Beyonce. Which killed Pendulum.

Can't believe it's already been 8 years, pendulum was so good that outshine most of the bands nowadays
This is the best live version of watercolour for me
Gosh I love that live version of the song!

3 of the members of pendulum are now big name dubstep/electro house and drum and bass producers, living the bloody dream! And they're Aussie!
One of the best bands what i ever listen
I am thankful that i found this band even im very late
So happy I was there in that crowd! What an absolute blast this was! 😆
What a perfomance, i have no words❤
Happy to see that he sings good live!
FrickinChickin not meant to be a dick, but sounds like he use tons of auto tunes
i think he knows but the fact that he's not hiding it/sounds almost the exact same as the album version makes it perfect
RandomlyGenerated because most of his songs get that signature sound due to the vocoder he uses

3:52 is natural, others sound like electronic but still they ate live I think
This is so much better live than it is on record, and I like the studio version of this song a lot.
I liked it best when they played it at Reading 2018. At that point I’d say they’ve perfected Watercolour.
Pendulum is truly Interesting a mix of edm and rock and one of the best singers I’ve ever heard
*Drum N Bass, not edm

Fuck no pendulum is the god damn shit! 😃

And my fists were up at the end
Lol, at 2:48 - 2:51 Rob's like "Eh, fuck it, I don't need to sing..."
These guys need to make another fucking album!
we do.
Plague Doc they split so they never will, they are coming back for a live show in July though

You would think Rob would look all pumped and stuff when singing, but he's always so calm. :O
they sing like that everytime they perform watercolour, ben is an MC and he does his job very well..
His voice is just perfection
