Slade does such a good job framing his solutions. Instead of saying “this is the best way to setup your weapon and the guys that do it any other way are old school” or “other guys like to do this way but here’s how you should be doing it” he says “this is how I like to setup my sling and here’s why, I’ve found the other ways don’t work for me and here’s why” or “some guys prefer to run it a different way but this is how I like to run it for me”. He talks about what works for HIM and doesn’t put down other guys for doing things differently. He doesn’t disrespect others ideas or methods, something that’s a big problem in the gun community. Ultimately we are here to see what HE likes so we can see if it works for ourselves, not for him to tell us what we should or shouldn’t do, or for him to put down others for doing things differently than him.
I like when he says stuff like "...where I used to work" instead of always naming his old unit. He knows that we all know where he used to work and he still chooses to be professional. Even when he mentions it he is just matter of fact instead of making sure everyone knows. Solid
I never had an understanding of CQC (Footwork, handling, and gear.) until I've seen Slade's videos. That's real knowledge transfer. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. 🇵🇭🇺🇸
In prior Alphabet Company videos, I always thought Slade was the best at showing and explaining the how and why. So glad to see this video. Hope there are many more to come. S/C Irregulars has a bright future. Thanks, Slade
Finally, Slade, Slade, and more Slade. All the FOG vids and "Where i used to work" vids, Slade always stood out as the most passionate and engaging guy as far as instruction/explanation, and most of the info of most use seemed to always come from him. Keep uploading us with knowledge sir. It matters!

This dudes footwork is top notch. I never thought about almost sliding your feet while moving through a building room to room. Keeps the noise down and keeps you low and agile.
Yeah dude I’ve trained Japanese martial arts for over 25 years and he moves like a high level martial artist, smooth in the flow state. It’s beautiful, a well refined art. Man I’d love to take a course.
I’m excited to see you posting content Slade. Been following all the knowledge you put out there since the end of 2019 and I’m just getting into shooting personally but appreciate everything you share for people to know.
Love these build vids from legit warfighters, that have the experience, training and common sense to know what works, more importantly why it works... and what doesn't work. As a civilian, your words carry a lot of weight because of all that knowledge. My preferences in building an AR have definitely shifted pretty massively over the past 5 years or so. I used to be a big fan of co-witness red dots, and running a fixed front sight post too. For whatever reason, I really just liked that sight picture of having the dot sitting right on the tip of the front post. Since then I've gone away from that to a more heads-up shooting style with the scalar-works 1.93" mount, no more fixed front sight either. That has definitely been the biggest change for me, going to a more heads-up shooting posture. It took some time to adjust to the taller height over bore, learning my holds, but in the long run it's been a benefit to my shooting, and my overall comfortability as well. I'm not hunched over and having to hunt around for my sights. That cheek riser piece looks really intriguing though. I dig it. Great video. Thanks for what you do.
If anyone is wondering what that music is in the background. It's a band called Alcest. They are BAD-ASS. The song is Sapphire. I recommend the version they did with Perturbator. Perturbator being ANOTHER badas artist. One of my top 10s
