hi Daniel, huge respect on this one goes to you, i don't recall ever seeing a youtuber giving so much honesty in there video's as yourself. Even when things don't go as expected you still show the whole process with it's high's and low and technical troubles, obviously a huge effort for you to get out another great episode, the guitar looks great imo.
Hi Daniel, in my opinion the first stain was also great, the second one as well, love the work you put in the guitar as well as in the time for making this content! Respect!!!
Another fantastic video ... Definitely the best guitar building content right now. The guitar is beautiful - a labour of love and a testament to your skill and resilience as a builder.
Like everything we do, it's all acquired skills. You are a craftsman, so acquired skills are all within your abilities. I like the result you got. I can't wait to see how the lacquer makes it pop.
Staining is an art form all by itself. I always find it a challenge matching the color I see in my mind with the actual stain . I am very indecisive when it comes to colors.
Looks good. Apart from the black as a base coat, maybe start with the lightest colour and add in the next darkest and then the next. I think the yellow all over, then orange leaving a patch of yellow in the middle, then red round the outer edge.
That s also how I learned, lighter colors first then move to the darker ones. ( after the initial black coat, which needs to be cut back and only is meant to pop the grain/figuring of the wood )
I have been watching PRS employees staining guitars on TH-cam. Those guys are really good at laying down the color, and I am closely watching their technique. Thanks for sharing your work. The guitar looks absolutely amazing!
Hi Daniel, my name is also Daniel as you might know from previous comments on videos and your live-streams. Wow I think that turned out really good, but I know that feeling when you are not fully happy with the result, ive done it to a couple of times and I know the feeling when sanding everything down again to start all over, its not a great feeling, but everything can only get better with a fresh start. in a couple of weeks I will put finish on my guitar-build to, I will check out the link you provided about Nitrolack .. thanks for the video :D
Hi a couple of things that might help. With water based black stain less is more.I cut back black at least 30%-40% to an almost gray black charcoal color for grain accenting. Red can be cut 20% and yellow 10%. Before you sanded everything back , a rag with water will lift/ wipe off a lot of color , then sand .when blending a burst use the lightest thinned color . Black will muddy up a burst real quick.
To try to stop the black from muddying up your brighter colours, use an alcohol based black to highlight the flame which you sand back. Then use a water based black for the burst. This works pretty well for me.
You are a true artisan, such care and attention to detail. Hope that I get a chance to play one of your wonderful creations. Best Regards Happy 🎃👻 Halloween season coming . John. 😺.
So Daniel do u think the nitor stain would stain the maple binding all the way through if u use straight concentrate since the other orange stain u tried didn't penetrate all the way through
I’m not sure yet. I thinking about a topic as the phoenix is just hanging around most of the time to let the clear coats dry. Do you have an idea for a livestream topic? As soon as I have something to show, do or talk about I’ll make sure to announce the stream in the community tab.
Staining is not as easy as it looks when watching the experts. Even those that have been doing it for years have from time to time had to reset! I think what you have done so far is very good. Once the cllearcoat is applied Ii think you will find that you have a peach of a guitar there.

Don’t be discouraged Daniel, without failure there is no progress. It turns out out perfectly
looks good and will look even better after finishing with clear finish. Great job!
That looks amazing! Can't wait to see it with a top coat and some hardware

I'm guessing that the colours will pop more once you start adding the sealer/finish coats...we'll see!
Amazing!!!🔥🔥🔥
It's beautifull color 👍
Ha! Never mind--looks good!
Very Cool!
Ha, hij is prachtig geworden man, vakwerk. Elk begin is moeilijk, maar het resultaat is geweldig!
Thanks for sharing, it looks great. You should sell plans for this design, I'm buying if you do.
Awesome.

I might give it try.
Thanks for reminding me.

Nice job Daniel, what are you using as a sealer?
I’m going to use the Nitorlack clear primer as a sealer and base coat for the clear lacquer.
@@UnquendorGuitars what did you use to seal the binding? Same stuff?
@@BenParks i'd be interested to know this also. @UnquendorGuitars
I'm NOT an expert, but there is a rule of thumb when using translucent colors: dark over light.

And another Copy.....
