love this car, i seriously hope ford brings it back, and i love the massive size of it, even by mysself i love the roominess of my excursion. seeing this adds the one feature i would absolutely love: having a backup camera. desperately needed in moving the car, otherwise best family car ever.
2005 was the last year that Ford started discontinued the Excursion because Ford reacted to a changing market by eliminating the Excursion and replacing it with a longer version of the Expedition. The Excursion was outsold by the Chevrolet Suburban even though the Excursion was a superior vehicle in many ways. Including; Optional Diesel engine for increased towing power and better fuel economy. Larger Cabin room, A higher towing capacity and a better reliability rating.
I always liked the Excursions. Hated to see them dropped after the 2005 my. You've built a super nice looking mod/conversion. I wish I could see it up close. If the taillights had been converted, it would look like a reintroduction of a great piece of Ford history.
I have a 2012 6.7L F250 Super Duty and it will get 23mpg on the highway, 16mpg in the city. Better than a midsize SUV and yet it's at least as big as the old excursion, diesel is the way to go man.
Love The truck and if i could afford it I'd buy it on the spot LOL. The only thing is I'd want the rear door panels to be updated like the front. But overall hell of a truck and I love it.

An increase in fuel costs and the slowing sales of the Larger SUV caused ford to remove it from it's lineup. It's replacement was an extended version of the Ford Expedition... plus the door in the back are not the same is it is in the front...
its a nice looking truck but what happens if the high pressure oil pump (i think thats the part) goes bad? cause i know on the pick up trucks the cab has to be remove. theres obviously a lot more the remove in this excursion
Do to cost of having a custom mold made and the amount of panels made the cost was not justifiable. Don't call someones work lazy until you know what it takes to do a project like this. Have you done anything on this magnitude? If not don't judge someone else work. This truck is well document and nothing is hidden. Are right guys settle down. We all know last production on the Excursion was in 2005. Know need to swear and take away from the point of this build and what it takes to build something like this. Trust me if they still built them this video would be pointless. Look for the up and coming video of the 2011 or newer Excursion with a 6.7 Diesel.
CustomAutos by Tim does a better job. The rear door panels are the older ones and don't match the front and gives me a lazy feeling about the entire build.
Sales were good untill gas prices rose In the early 2000s as a result sales declined because if you owned an excursion you have to spend most of the time at the pump. You can still see some of these beasts up in the northern usa (if you live in the usa)

...the Excursion...the beautiful truck/SUV, that the tree huggers, aka, environmentalists forced Ford to stop production on....they even forced some state to forbid the Excursion from going over a certain bridge, if caught, you got a ticket...the F250 could go over the bridge, but not the Excursion, which shows the intelligence of those nuts...the Excursion and the F250 share the same platform... Ford got the last word...they started making Expeditions on the F250 platform, same size as the Excursion...not a peep from those idiots...Ford didn't voluntarily stop production on the Excursion...the tree huggers made a lot of noise and that is not good for business...so they stopped!!...

you can convert a apple into a banana but it’s still a apple, there is no such thing as a 08 excursion they stopped making excursions in 05 and the excursion was based off the f-250 frame and body. you can tell people what you want but the VIN and the DMV will tell you what it truely is.

It is actually licensed as a 2008 F250. Cab and frame are spliced onto the Excursion frame and cab.
I wish Ford starts to sell more Excursions, but that is REALLY cool, but can you give one to me for free so I can drive it on a daily basis?
