Absolutely the BEST Cure song ever, and one of the most emotionally powerful songs ever written. I remember being in my early twenties, after breaking up with a girlfriend of six years, and listening to this song over and over. I'm in my early forties now, married with kids, and this song still gives me chills. So great.
The Cure has so many classic songs, lyrical ingenuity, I listened all the time when I was a teenager and never get tired of their consummate musicianship.
The cure songed diferent, because I think that of the drumers play very very bat, an them the cure is creative for make songs news. is of only band that to make this change. I never has been enjoed as a band of rockhas innovation and develop of style like usual. Regards From México Hans Aranda, as bit by bit increasing the Cure in the time.
sadly jason spoils the good music. and besides, you made a comment stating that before Porl joined the band The Cure never used backing tapes. That is FALSE. Just listen to Fascination Street or Prayers for Rain in the Trilogy DVD and you will hear the pre-recorded shit. haha... you see? you are always wrong.
It's bad enough that O'Donnell's keys are *_painfully_* missing here but, to have to contend with Cooper's amateuristic, high school marching band _"drumming"_ on top of that? Cringeworthy... Feel sorry for those who were watching them live for the first time ever here...
The only reason im going to the next Cure tour is because Robert is getting, well, old. I don't think they'll be around for much longer so I want to at least see them once. Even with a mediocre drummer, and no keyboards.

Robert's voice sounds the same as it did when this song came out in '89. Eerie.

@damederose Because they hear Jason's terrible drumming.
