Could've slowed down for a multitude of reasons including ATC giving a speed restriction, slowing down for turbulence or sometimes if we're early the company will message us to slow down so we don't sit waiting on a gate for too long. With the right airspeed adjustment, the auto thrust in the Airbus can be quite dramatic at times with big power changes so I image that's what happened to you.
A very decent flight experience with Air Canada together with another example of Quintin`s photographic skills together make for great viewing. Always appreciated!
I flew on this exact plane in November and so did my cousin on a separate flight. Both were YVR-YEG. At 15:07 the same thing happened to me after the takeoff!
So awesome!!! You've seen more of Canada than I have, and I'm Canadian HAHA! Great video, I feel like I'm actually there travelling with you! Thanks so much...now I'm hooked on your channel 😃
We are expecting that our connecting flight from Vancouver to Winnipeg was West Jet Airlines (based on our ticket) but it turned out to be an Air Canada A319 which I also appreciated as far as acommodation is concerned. Our flight lasts for more tha 2 hours and we stayed overnight in Best Western Hotel, enjoy swimming in their pool before proceeding to Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada for almost 2 hour-drive. Such a wonderful 16-hour journey from the Philippines to Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada. We already experienced hailstorm last June, see the vast plantations of Canola and it's yellow flowers, participate in the yearly Filipino Heritage 2023 featuring the famous landmarks and festivals in the Philippines where some residents in Neepawa lined up the street and loved watching the Filipino presentation. Upon staying here we already enjoyed camping in Rainbow Beach, Asessipi Provincial Park, Minnedosa lake, Irwin lake, tour in Clear Lake-Riding Mountain Provincial Park and it's museum, visit Anenole Elk landmark, shopping in Shoppers mall, Winners, in Brandon, tour in Zoo Roblin Ave., stayed overnight in Holiday Inn Express, Winnipeg, shopping in Cotsco and others. Now, we are waiting for the much-awaited "Winter Season" comes the "ber" month and possibly the Northern Lights or the Aurora Borealis.
Hello QFS. Very nice video. My spouse and I were in Vancouver for a week back in October 2021 and I remember the self-playing piano at YVR. We flew Basic Economy on Air Transat from Toronto as the price was alot more reasonable than Air Canada. The aircraft (A321) was the same but the seats were not very comfortable. What a difference flying from decent weather conditions to snow on the ground (and cold I bet) weather conditions. Keep up the good work!
(A) much prefer the stunning livery of present day. 👍🏻 (B) meal looked good 😋 (C). IMHO, Air Canada should just dissolve sh-tty Rouge, update to mainline livery and call it a day (D) ❤️ their Signature Class service on the long hauls 😉👍🏻. Keep up the fantastic presentations Q
Dam talk about an old interior. The seats look old bur that view was fabulous. I'm a flight crew and I always say the view from 35,000 feet are priceless great job my friend I give you props.from a crew/aviation geek here
Minus the IFE, I would anytime prefer these older Airbus planes compared to the A220s and the Max8s. The 1-2 Business class seating on their mainline E190s was great, but they were brutal to do a flight from Toronto to Seattle. Btw AC flies from Ottawa to Winnipeg as well, but technically on the AC Express (CRJ900).
Nice review! We actually JUST flew on the A319 last weekend, C-FYJI from Vancouver to Edmonton. We found it's outdated cabin to actually be in way better shape then on an A321 with Air Canada we flew on from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale back in March which were about the same 20+ years in age. I personally enjoyed the A319, but love the A220's that are replacing them.
Great video! I’m now based in Vancouver but Winnipeg is my hometown! Glad you enjoyed the flight and Hope you weren’t too cold and enjoyed the city! It’s better in the summer just sayin haha. Just a small nitpick the airport code for Winnipeg is YWG and those IFEs were the first to be installed way back in 2007 I think, state of the art at the time 😂 and as for the salt and pepper, that’s def a catering screw up or “we don’t have enough mainline S and P packets” entirely a catering company error
Wow great video! You lucked out big time with the lighting in Vancouver! Also its not common for flights to depart on 08L/26R at YVR so thats pretty cool too!
Speaking of mothballed planes, didn't you talk a couple of years ago about buying a few planes in the desert, minus the avionics? Did you ever do anything with them?
Here’s a fact: We can thank Air Canada for the escape path lighting system installed on most modern passenger aircraft. On one fateful day in the 1980’s, Air Canada flight 797 encountered smoke during the flight and was forced to make an emergency landing in Cincinnati. But 90 seconds after the plane landed, flames shot through the cabin, killing everyone who was still inside. Those who were in the plane and got incinerated couldn’t find an exit in time due to the smoke-filled cabin obstructing their vision
Love Vancouver... my hometown growing up but not sure why anyone would go to Winnipeg... in the winter? Thanks for the tour of the city. Did the Jets win? And thanks for putting all the work in to share your travels with us.
Another excellent trip report from start to finish. really liked the cockpit visit, the shadow plane on departure, stickers, and the closing montage. i highly recommend this video and this channel, and to those not already subscribed you need to do so...hit the button!! Well done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra and thanks for sharing!!
I heard about the United flight from Honolulu to San Francisco where the Boeing 777 decreased altitude suddenly after takeoff then continued to climb after that and landed at san Francisco no issues and FAA is investigating that incident
Great vid interesting stuff. Now 2023 vids please today's grade is A. BUT PLEASE PUT ON JAZZ PIANO MUSIC MUCH BETTER SOUNDING I THINK.. IF YOU WANT. BUSSINESS CLASS IS NICE.
Awesome video! It's definitely interesting to see AC bring back these A319's. My guess is that they are using them to cover capacity while they wait for more A220s to arrive. The delivery schedule changed so much during the pandemic so these are simply cheap aircraft to slot in. That said I agree with your opinion on Rouge. They need to really take a look and see how it will be positioned moving forward. Another major need is a cabin retrofit for the Airbus jets set to remain in the fleet (A321).
I guess all the older Airbus planes including the existing A321s will be ultimately retired once the A321Neos start coming in. That's the reason AC is not making any efforts in changing their interiors.
@@IndraneelUpponi My only thought is that they have 15 options for NEO's later this decade. If you look at the age of the current 321's, then it would align well with their replacement. Seems like the NEO's are replacing the remaining 12 A320s.
@nicholasstanton1150 That's quiet a possibility. Moreover they still have 27 more A220s to come in. Will have to wait and watch how does AC deploys the A321Neos.
@nicholasstanton1150 I don't think they will get new planes for Rouge. 3 ex-Eva Air A321s are already on their way to Rouge. To replace the A319s, they might pick up some used relatively newer A320ceos for less $ compared to new planes.
It is mentioned below, but the reduced power could well have been for ATC spacing from conflicting traffic, or for arrival separation. One other reason, given the lenticular clouds over the mountains, the crew might have anticipated Clear Air Turbulence, down wind of the mountains. It is standard procedure not to go charing into an area of CAT, as full cruise speed. Watching your video, CAT was not a factor after all.
Avoid to Travel with Air Canada Worst Airline ,very disappointing services received by air Canada, I haven't seen such disgusting flight management in my life , I use air Canada around 3-4 times but in 3 times I have faced life threatening experiences with my family on my first trip they provided me all boarding passes and cancelled my ticket after half journey so i had to comeback to my home country and the staff was so rude they left us saying its not their responsibility at London Heathrow airport and didn't take any responsibility of sending me back to my home country so i had to spend 4000 $ .2nd time because weather problem my flight got cancelled they didn't provide us accommodation and Toronto which was a new place to us we didn't have any contacts but after 12 days my friend was coming and his flight got canceled and they provided him a hotel with all accommodations at Montréal at the 3rd time they also didn't refund any of our tickets and were offering only 150$ against my 7000$s of tickets that is air Canadas service. Very disgusting experience
You should always get travel insurance. Any cancellation/delay related to weather or anything else that isn't the fault of the airline, the airline is never responsible.
You just wasted that gate agent's time. I don't know what you were thinking! (it must take a certain kind of disregard for basic human courtesy to be a gate agent.)
Alex Praglowski made an in-depth video on Air Canada’s current A319 situation, I recommend giving it a watch!

It's probably a school crossing zone 😆
Weather balloon crossing. Yeah...weather balloon... that's the ticket.
That's a loud engine! And I LOVE IT!!!
Outdated cabin. Nice meal presentation. Beautiful scenery.
Thanks Quintin😀💚
Love seeing the little A319 fly. At the time of this comment, Air Canada brought a third one back into service (C-FYKC, C-FYJI, and C-GBIA.)
I love AC's new livery. It looks so classy!
Wonderful video mate!
I love that livery so much more than the black and red

I really appreciate it Pierre 😊
Love seeing you at YVR Quintin, I hope you have had time to explore Vancouver a bit too on your times here
Thank you! This trip I didn’t have time but I hung out downtown last year. Beautiful city

Could the engines throttled down because of an excess tail wind??
Always enjoy your videos, Thanks! But Winnipeg in January??? You really need to encourage your travel agent to give up drinking!!!
I wonder if your plane had to slow down for traffic. I know sometimes ATC will ask for slowest cruise speed for greater separation

This aircraft is used for many NHL charters. I’d love to fly on one of the AC Jetz someday!
Do you know you can fly from Vancouver to Houston IAH with Air Canada
Its just a hunch... but I figure that ATC has requested that the Flightcrew have to reduce the velocity due to traffic maybe.

15:06 this happens many times by ATC giving speed instruction or more often the winds changes direction and pushes the aircraft an other way

These business class seats are absolutely terrible in my opinion. They really need to change them.
The E175 has the best ones, followed by the A220.
I just love something about the smaller a318/19 type. Also on the old IFE, you can tell by the cursor it runs on old windows, yikes!
You are one brave person walking around downtown Winnipeg 💀
16 minutes to load the screen wow thats really long 13:22
Air Canada should've retired their Airbus A319s in 2020 not unretire them
