You should be able to select the edge without any problems, unless you want to select the wall, it is better to rotate the model so that you can click the wall but you should have no problem with dimensioning.
Mr. Krzysztof, I have watched a lot of your Catia videos and the majority of them are really well done but this one is confusing me. You know how to use the Tolerancing Advisor so why wouldn't you use it to create the Feature Control Frames?? The feature control frames you have created are non-semantic and are considered "dead" or "dumb" frames. You have not covered semantic Basic dimensioning either. All the You Tube videos I have watched in regards to this workbench are all missing this. Regardless thanks for your videos. I have learned a lot of things from your videos. Keep up the good work.
Yes! Thanks for reply. I wanted to do this. But there is weird of my software (I am not sure if I have to set something for it. ) May I ask you to check my problem: th-cam.com/video/ig2Q6Oxt-54/w-d-xo.html the Part step file: drive.google.com/open?id=17nzc_ChXrhjToi8o7hvJBN0BwbLvAJIE
Hello, What is the version of this Catia V5? There is a option to break the line in your video that in the Catia R19 haven't. =( Can you clarify this information, please? Tks in advanced
Hi there, I noticed that the 2d drawing does not require updating after you create your views. I followed similar steps as in the video, however my 2d drawing requires an update, and removes all of the dimensions from the other views. Any suggestions, please and thank you!
Hi, i don't have any clue why the dimensions disappear. Do you add a view to do drawing using the command 'View From 3D'? Maybe after updating the view when the dimensions disappear, delete the view and add it again. Go to Tools > Options > Mechanical Design > Drafting > View tab and make sure that Exact preview for view generation is selected as the view generation mode in the View Generation
Hi there, thanks for the reply. But yes, I generate the view from 3D. Every time I click 'display view' in the FTA workbench, and go back to my drawing, I see that an update is required. As soon as I update, all of the dimensions on the view go to 'no show' and are in the hidden plane. So whatever is visually seen on the FTA workbench in terms of dimensions is what I see in the 2D drawing. Any ideas?
Sorry for the delay, from what I know so it is possible to create an exploded view of the assembly and use it into FTA, but to make the annotations in the FTA you must be single part not in the assembly, like this video: th-cam.com/video/mp-ms6LAIL0/w-d-xo.html I don't know if my answer can help you. You maybe have found a solution to this?
Hello Krzysztof Gad, the link that you sent me was about skeleton. Do you know if in Catia r25 has the option overload parts? this funtion works to put in hidden some parts in a determined view. Tks in advanced Krzysztof Gad
Hi... is there anyway that i can learn FTA, i mean am able to do what you are doing by seeing in youtube, but is there anyway that i can learn the FTA in detail like why we have to annotate or why we have to take +0.1 and -0.1 or you kept M42 x 1,5 6 or why you kept M in a circle or somethings like, Is there any way i can learn complete FTA,,,,, Am a beginner,,,,,, just know sketcher, drafting, assembly, part design,, i want to learn complte catia,,, thanks in advance.......
Top job 👌👍👍👍
Muito bom! Seus tutoriais são muito bons!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤
When adding dimensions, how are you able to select an edge? I need to rotate model and select faces. Maybe a setting in options?

What's the font, style, size, spacing?
I think these are standard font settings: font 'sss2', size '3,5' spacing '0', style '?'
CAPTURES NOT EXPLAINED :(
