- In this webcast, Technical Training Engineer, Trisha Freeman, focuses on how to set up captures in the CATIA V5 Functional Tolerance Annotation (FTA) workbench. This includes:
Applying annotation filters
Establishing camera viewpoints
Managing parts visibility
Creating clipping views
The content from this webcast is taken from the Rand 3D training course, CATIA V5 Functional Tolerancing & Annotation.

We had a customer recently ask: "I can’t get the section view to display properly in my model. It readjusts time my camera location however it will not apply the actual section cut." Our trainer has responded with: "Thank you for your question. When setting up a section cut view capture (with the capture activated), you need to make sure that clipping view is selected before you exit the capture creation. This is shown in the video around the 28:15 mark."
Thank you very much for this webinar, it helped me a lot at work ;-)
Can we create View from 3D in Drafting using a Result Annotation Set from a part?
I need to change the default color for annotations from white to black because I'm using a white background. I don't find the settings. Can you help? Thank you
HI, thanks for your question. CATIA's default is for annotations to be white (you can't change the default unfortunately). After you make the annotation, you can right click and go to properties. There you can change the annotation to a different color manually (in the font and text tab). I would just suggest not using a white background to make this easier. If you need to take a screen capture of the annotation, you can go to Tools->Image->Capture and set the properties to automatically take the capture with a white background and then turn on the "Capture white in black" so that the annotations automatically turn to black on the white background.
