The year was 1988, I had just seen a white VFR750F, that was when I decided I wanted to ride. Fast forward to 2022 after many issues along my life's way, I finaly got my licence, now to start adding to my garage, with a VFR at the top of my list.

What a transformation.!! You've done everything that I would have done. Now I'm in love again. Going with the black VFR decals in my opinion would look classier over the silver. The wildlife at the beginning of the video has made me hungry for a chicken dinner. Lol. Sorry if I've offended anyone. I have previously owned a second Gen 750 and a fifth Gen 800. Just bought a 2002 Vtec sixth Gen with a genuine 7800 miles on the clock. I'll let you know how I get on.👍

Great job done I know christy and John well I've bought a few bikes off them my new zzr1400 fell over in my drive I was devastated right bit of damage done christy eased my pain by sending me to Damien he toke my bike and done an absolute brilliant job of my bike what a gentleman and genius was great to see you going to him I was lucky enough to be sent there! Fabulous result. I have been a VFR nut for a long time and keep looking out for the right VTec to appear as I am in the mood for another. Totally brilliant bikes with just the right amount of " everything" for modern roads. Your bike is money well spent - a beautiful machine that will last a (very) long time. 👍

Absolutely beautiful. Best color combination of body panels and wheels and a full set of luggage. I'm so jealous. It's money well spent as this bike will run for at least another 16 years. Get a series R/R and ride the hell out of it.

That looks stunning. That’s the colour I’m after, just got to pick the right bike. The gold wheels set it off , I have them on my 1983 VF and they are the original anodised finish. I bet she turns heads wherever she goes, we’ll done a thing of beauty.

Very inspirational! Now you just need a Sargent seat; even if they weren't way more comfy than stock, they'd be worth the expense just for looking better! And FWIW my vote would be leave the VFR badges off, looks great as is.

Awesome job Dave, what a superb looking bike now and looks as good as new, if not better. Hope it's a keeper and for what it stands you in now, you could loose that in a couple of years if you bought a brand new bike. I think it's the way to go, I have a Honda Blackbird that I've owned for 14 years, I go everywhere on it and absolutely love it and keep it in as new condition all the time, anything that needs doing is done as I don't allow anything to deteriorate. I hope you can get that connection and love affair with your VFR, just like me and RV with his Silver Lady 🙂

I have a vfr too and I recommend gettin chrome indicator bulbs for front and back . Visually makes a big difference taking the orange look out

Yeah the top box is gone mate. I only kept it in for this vid but will put it in storage unless I really need it. Next weeks vid of me riding out on it doesn’t have the top box. I’ll post some Instagram shots this week too! 👍🏍

I've done these kind of restos myself on a few bikes in the past for myself and others so I know the cost that can be involved, its a labour of love though and the results are always worth the effort imo👍

Looks nice! Try an MRA Vario screen. Totally transformed my 5th gen: Probably the biggest single improvement I've ever made on the bike. Not good for the license tho, as 100mph now feels like 60..🤔

Stock Honda panniers and they were that colour since I bought the bike. They were polished up and scratches all sprayed over but not a full respray on the panniers.
Beautiful, beautiful bike! Question for you. I bought a 2014 VFR with 4650 miles. The tires are original. I took it to the shop and had all the deferred maintenance done. His inspection confirmed that it was a very good bike "except", the tires need to be replaced. He mentioned the Road 6 GT tires. Can you recommend them as well? Thanks Rick

I'll definitely be giving Tallaght Power Coating a call to do my wheels, they look awesome 👌 Did the lads there help you pick a particular shade of gold or had you one picked already ? Hi Dave, Excellent piece of work! My view would be to leave off the VFR badges but I guess you want it close to original? Other question was the entire frame painted or just the visible bits? If only the visible bits, what a great idea. Beats dismantling the whole bike! On the video the frame actually looks like powder coated, superb finish. Arthur.

Hey Dave - I finally got my hands on the exact same vintage (and colours!). Desperately want the 2010 version gold wheels though.
Can I ask - where did you get your VFR stickers from?
I bought some from cheap old Ali-ex but they are not the same size as the 2007 (slightly thinner) and they are very silver as compared to the grey.
Any advice welcomed!

Hi, my bike came with them so I dont know what it was like to ride without them but the overall riding position is perfect for me. I wouldn’t like to be leaning any further forward so I suppose they work well. 👌🏍️

No John. I decided Ihad done enough and spent enough so just wanted to get out and ride it. I did use the Autobrite Direct ceramic coating polish though and it did a superb job.

Almost great! Needs a set of slip on mufflers for a better sound. All else is ok, maybe a set of Heli-Bars to pick up your chin when you’re riding.
i have a 08 model, but recently everything seems to have gone bust. ABS light keeps flashing, new abs module seems to cost around 600 euros, stator and rectifier both need replacing, around 1000 euros for both. really disappointed by the prices for all these

Restoring? Lol. I bought a fantastic 2005 VFR800 in 2018 with 12k miles, and under $4k. Yes, really. It's still beautiful and has 19k. Worth $5k these days, lol...
I would keep the vfr as original as possible. The Color of the rims is ugly.
