I must say they are one of the most convincing Giselle/Albrecht duo I've ever seen. Their acting and chemistry really moves me every time. They truly are wonderful

I stumbled across Natalia Osipova while doing a project for school. She has been a real inspiration for me for dancing, and just watching her dance, brings a whole new light to ballet. I look up to her as a role model, and just seeing her encourages me to work hard and keep dancing.

Imagine being a male dancer partnering Natalie. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ballerina with her elevation. Pirouettes and elevation is usually the male dancer’s domain. But, Natalie has it all covered, by herself. My eyes are glued to her in the same way they are glued to Mikhail Baryshnikov and Daniil Simkin.
Wow. Looks like an absolutely magical pairing of chemistry, technique, artistry...ballet at its finest!

This is part of the extras on the DVD. Natalia Osipova is just sublime in this production of Giselle. All the dancers really are on top form and still Osipova's performance towers over them. Quite extraordinary in my view.
I've only managed to find clips of Natalia Osipova in Giselle. Even so, her performance is awe-inspiring, truly incredible. You truly believe her as Giselle because of the emotion in her face and dancing!
Natalia is a wonderful Giselle. This is my most favourite ballet I cry from start to finish every time I see it. The music and the corps de ballet... I am mesmerised ... I love it, I love it, I love her. and the music. So wonderful... all of it. Cannot wait to see it again....

A great Russian dancer in London. What an amazing surprise. Out of the hands of Kekhman. I sincerely hope that she will be happy in London. And Vasiliev? I hope ROH realises what a great dancer they have under their wings.
We have been fortunate to have had and still have some superb dancers at The Royal Ballet,i saw Natalia dance in this production and it was clear that she is their greatest (female)star now.......absolutely spellbinding.She seemed to float around the stage as she is so light on her feet and her jumps and speed were amazing.Viva Natalia.

I would recommend you watch the great Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, who danced pass her 60's; most of her career while being blind and recently passed away at 98 years old. For many, among other characters, she is considered the greatest Giselle ever and she was the first one who ever did and introduced "Pirouettes en passé".

THE most ethereally exquisite Giselle for me, has always been the legendary ballerina Svetlana Zakharova . Danced at the young age of 18, her very first performance of this very difficult and demanding role, she just floats through it . With her great beauty , and perfect figure, feet to die for , no ballerina before or after comes even close . Emotion, dazzling technique Svetlana in her prime was a very tough act to emulate. She WAS. Giselle ! Ditto her Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, again with Roberto Bolle , the stuff of dreams, flawless, La Bayadere , Spartacus Lady of the Camellias I could go on and on. Her earlier performances with Igor Zelinsky in Sleeping Beauty and La Corsairs have to be seen to be believed! Dazzling , is putting it mildly .

Mr. Acosta is incorrect; Giselle is not pure classical. It is one of the great Romantic Ballets. Classical ballet was the late 19th Century with ballets such as Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty. Giselle in music and choreography is Romantic and shares more in common with La Sylphide and Bournonville ballets.
Tinita Bondi it’s just a different sensibility. His depth for the role is surprising since he is known for his pyrotechnic style he does well with Don Quixote. He is a great partner and many might think he knows very little but actually has a great knowledge of his art. I just felt I needed to correct this malapropism of Giselle to hopefully further others to look deeper into the art and history of ballet.
