Some tea, some coffee, and me with a hot keto friendly mocha latte... I think that Starlink is an amazing technology that keeps on getting better. I am not on Starlink right now because I am getting a decent connection where I am but Starlink is getting close enough now that I am watching to make the changes... 👍
In addition to self cleaning the constellation, that means the older, less up-to-date hardware will be consistently replaced by newer and improved satellites.
We need to pay SpaceX to put multiple observatories on the moon (mostly unstaffed other than Optimus Robots). The earth telescopes don't have the best seeing anyway and we get much longer observation times with the roughly 2 week "nights" on the moon. So we need at least three major observatories there spaced 120 degrees apart to get full time coverage of any target. One doesn't have to worry about weather on the moon so every night is a good night to watch. With the Starship capability, we should be able to do this at a reasonable price.
I am an astrophotographer so I spend many hours photographing the night sky. The software I use can remove those streaks as long as it is not super bright. At this point I am not losing a lot of photos. If SpaceX satellites can reduce the albedo which is the reflectivity of the object that can improve astrophotography.
I got the Cash so I'm still here and I didn't get canned from the Wi-fi --~~~ Again, I Love your clips and I learn so much because of your knowledge,,, Thank you so much Joe!!! 😊
Starlink made cell towers obsolete. Next SpaceX will make all terestrial astronomy antennas 📡 obsolete by launching astronomy antennas in space for 1000s of Hubbles to download via Starlink. Less maintenance, less weather interference, better resolution all meshing as one gigantic camera in space. Too simple. Q.E D. from the 51st state 👍😎
@X5493-c7p That is a sporadic situation. Try that yourself inside your home and you'll get a reallity check.... In the event of the Sun getting mad at us, it could wipe out the all constalation and then it would leave everybody out of service....
Uh, no. The physical size of Hubble limits the results it can get. Nothing SpaceX can lift can compete with that. If you learn the physics of the telescopes involved, no.
Images from a camera I can question but in that aspect if you focus a telescope to a certain distance anything in the foreground will disappear because your creating a blind spot. I love the thought of self cleaning that way we don’t do to space like we did to the earth for so long.
I found out alot on the Xbox wireless controller. It's the Bluetooth so I need one that works on both windows and Linux. Looking at a Edimax Bluetooth adapter for pc bt 5.0 edr nano USB dongle.
they just need to place all the telescopes on the moon, better view and less crowding getting in the way, hell the telescopes can be automated as well.
Ground telescopes are obsolete...they blame starlink but its not their fault. We as a human race have to go behond that. Send your telescopes into space...
can’t they include on the satellite one of these small propulsion engines so when it’s time to deorbit, it just gives it one push toward the atmosphere then it’s done.
My concern lowering the satellites is when they drop back down to earth will the burn completely up before they hit the earth since they have a shorter distance to fall?
Doesn't more time in shadow equal less time to get power from solar? Will this mean bigger/heavier satellites to have more solar panels? If so does more solar panels equal more light reflection? I don't know the answers to this just asking questions to learn more.
The solution to astronomers problems is to give all humans digital access to the telescopes that are in space out of sight of the circling satellites 🛰️ that interfere with ground based telescopes 🔭. We humans have the technology to share the information
No matter how you truck it up, a satellite will still occlude whatever it passes in front of. So, more twinkle twinkle, less little star. Nice that Elon is looking to mitigate the damage, but there will be damage no matter what he does.

Oh ya.
Thanks for the update! Dropping the orbit sounds like a win-win.
Great coverage, but I really like that gas fireplace behind you! It is the star of a show in my opinion

Thanks!

Let's be honest, lowering the altitude sounds like a way to get around the power limit for the sat2cell power issue. But I mean if it works then cool

The new black look nails it.
Wish I could get my starlink but, still on the waiting list here in eastern Washington.
Ouch. Fingers crossed.
Nice talk. I think your idea of low earth orbit is better. Self cleaning and we get meteor show simulation as they burn up. Good times.

they just need to place all the telescopes on the moon, better view and less crowding getting in the way, hell the telescopes can be automated as well.
Or simply in GEO orbit.
There are telloscopes with ai in them also there a device that you can get to make it semi ato when using telloscope
@@jcristina personally i would not place them there, moon would be better plus you would be able to field bigger on the moon than you would in geo.
I will give my opinion on this tomorrow 3.00 pm EST.
