🚀 In the heart of Los Angeles, amidst the chaos of wildfires, Elon Musk's Cybertrucks emerge not just as vehicles but as lifelines, powered by Starlink to weave a digital life saving network. But here's the twist: this isn't just a tale of technology saving the day. It's a saga of innovation clashing with politics, where each Cybertruck stands as a beacon of hope and a battleground for controversy.
Q: Should ALL Tesla Cars and Cybertrucks be equipt with Starlink?
    Q: What are your thoughts?

Amateur radio operator here. As long as you're using a suction cup mount and it's pointing up through the glass roof you should be fine.
I would recommend mounting the antenna over the back seats a little further away from your head.
The vast majority of the RF radiation emitted from the antenna will be going vertical.
Phased Array Antennas have about a 160° spread of RF Radiation coming out of their antenna.
The fcc's maximum RF output allowed for microwave frequency handheld radios is 5 watts.
The starlink mini dish outputs a maximum of only 4 watts of microwave radiation.
TLDR: Point the antenna side away from you and you should be fine. 😉

JC. I wonder if you can run a demo on SS7. Explaining how telcos communicate with eachother. The address scheme and how you can pay into it to become part of the the network. This gives you unfertered access to all messages, videos and phone calls. This is why 5G was inplemented. To replace this issue. Unfortunately SS7 is still the standard between networks.

Actually the whole system if you pay $2,000 a month you can read everyone's messages. You can actually intercept calls. This is one of those things that sounds good on paper but not in practice. This would force the owners of the Tesla vehicles to pay $100 plus a month for service. Don't get distracted by the fact that Telsa and Starlink are separate companies; Starlink would need to be compensated for providing the service. That said, I think Tesla could strike a deal with Starlink to provide service at a lower cost.

Being an Englishman living in NZ, I can only comment from the outside looking in. In my view, Elon needs to calm the rhetoric, he would win far more supporters if he just went about his business. Supporting people by supplying hardware and connectivity to people in need is a wonderful thing to do. Spacex and striving to get to Mars, this is how innovation works which we seem to have lost sight of. Starlink, what a wonderful thing, I use it here and it is such a step forward, hell I can even work from my boat.. lol.. I have a Tesla which I pay monthly for LTE connectivity, this should absolutely be Starlink. He just needs to calm the noise, he has even picked a fight with th UK government.. Why?? He is in a place of quite some influence, he needs to be careful to fact check before posting opinion, maybe you could give him some lessons.. :)

Tesla vehicles are already equipped for this. They use the cell network to get data, and Starlink can talk directly to cell phones. Its provided via Tmobile. Starlink satellites are effectively cell phone towers. The only thing they can't do is connect with a large number of phones and connect within buildings, both of which Elon is solving by launching more satellites with cell phone capability and more power.

And perhaps 2-3 times every day, each of those Cybertrucks wod have to go dark, run off to a charger, and be replaced by another active truck.
You've still got to get power in to the equipment. With a diesel genset and a fuel buffalo (5,000 gallon trailer tank) you could run portable equipment non-stop for two weeks, then just bring a larger 10,000 gallon standard fuel truck around for uninterrupted refueling.
The Cybertrucks are flashy--but the wrong way to provide long term solutions.

    • @geoffsmith82
      @geoffsmith82 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

Nah, the battery in them is a minimum of 85kWh and up to 123Wh. If they used the high capacity one and say use 50kwh for driving the truck, that would leave 73kWh. Apparently the Standard disk uses about 1Kwh of power a day. This means that it would be a couple of months of capacity. With a bit more custom work, you could add a 400 watt solar panel or 2 in the back and a telescopic pole antenna (to increase coverage) and it should be able to run continuously. The biggest problem would be theft risk. I do think this solution is an expensive way of doing things though.

pertaining to the question about star link and teslas, no. if you want it then that is all you, i do not. elon will not make it eady to hack and i doubt he would ever enable the givernment to remotely control. that being said, you all are completely brain dead on these new cars and evs, you are incorporating multiple points that can be used to steal car/data or for governments to control everything. i will stick to the older tech, only have to worry about supply issues and emps, no hacking or remote controls.
