With this video I was able to to give my 1977 MR 175 new life. We changed the points after they failed and never could getting running crisp again after. We didn’t have a manual and You Tube didn’t exist. Years later I seen your video and was able to dial it in. Impressive little bike when it run s correctly. My son is learning to ride on it now. Hey, I've been messing with the ignition system on my 1975 mt250 using the micrometer method your showing here. My micrometer is displaying an ohm reading when grounded and attached to the black and white ignition wire under the tank but the reading does not change even when I can visibly see that the points are open. Any insight on what could be going on there?
Hey, I've been trying to set my points, but they seem to be opening much earlier than the F mark, in fact they begin to close right when the F mark comes around. I have a hard time believing that the magneto is cammed wrong!
Hey man, I have the same bike and I'm having some electrical problems. I have a strong current coming out of the yellow lighting wire but none out of the white and black? Is this normal?

Great video better then using a Light bulb I have 1976 MT 250 and have to try this just bought a cheap analog VOM to do it .

Yes, the change in ohms reading will only be 2-4 ohms. You need to have a meter that will read that low.

The Black and white wire is for your ignition. The yellow wire is for the lighting circuit.
