This was my favorite show as a kid. Definitely why geography and cultures was my favorite and best subject in school! And probably why I like traveling so much 😁
I distinctly remembered this episode cause it was the only time I saw someone get no points throughout the first round and suddenly pull into the lead on the final question. I’ll admit, after rewatching this, those questions were harder than usual. I knew almost none of these, haha!
@@smoothALOE Thanks 👍🏻. It was a lot of fun certainly an experience I’ll never forget. I wanted to keep the jacket but unfortunately they took that back lol.
I remember when my dad & I stopped Carmen from stealing the Declaration of Independence in the 1996 game Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego when I was a kid, that was the first time I caught Carmen.
Well, Bjacquard, here's an interesting fact about the DOI. There are 56 signatures on it, not 55, & that's b/c Thomas McKean didn't sign it until late-1781.
RIP Lynne Thigpen she was an amazing actress even on this show :(
She really was. I was so sad when she passed away.
She was a professional and it showed. I thank her silently all the time for what she gave us, so we can enjoy it all these years later.
@@RareHarmony She reminds me so much of my mom.
And to think, she first said no to being on this show when first asked. How different would things have been if they gave up on asking?

They filmed this show in NYC and I was in the audience like...8 times.
Omg it's almost 30 years later and I am still so jealous.
My brother attended dozens of taping of Carmen Sandiego in 1992-95. He was an alternate Gumshoe.
@@jonacme Can you find the video of that unaired episode? Can you contact Greg Lee to see if he has a copy of it?
I am jealous.
Edit: Was it as good live as it was watching it from the comfort of our home?
@@HuskyDog88 I was creative consultant ont he show. Get back to me and maybe I can help
The show came to Grand Rapids, MI in 1992 at a local mall. I got to go see it.
A time when kid shows were actually educational!
Loved this show growing up.
Ditto!
We grew up watching shows like this, today kids watch - Minions.
I've seen Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego and it was awesome when I was a baby!

God, I feel so old.
Same here, I was 7 in 91. I miss those days, but yet I don't , crazy huh.

I used to watch this show as a kid
I was eight years old when I first started watching this. Good times.
Nana rap was awesome I was looking for the episode that featured her!
PCPopple there was more than one.

That was me lol. I’ll never forget that part of it. I knew I had to wager everything on the last question and fortunately it worked out for me.
@@SmithsNYI nice! I wish I could’ve been on this show back in the day. I hope life has treated you well over the years. 🙏
@@smoothALOE Thanks 👍🏻. It was a lot of fun certainly an experience I’ll never forget. I wanted to keep the jacket but unfortunately they took that back lol.
@@SmithsNYI oh, interesting. I guess that makes sense. Hopefully they washed them pretty regularly, haha!
God we were lucky and happy in the 90s
I remember this show like it was yesterday. I am now 42 going on 43 in 2024. I feel old too, yet still quite young.
Kids were definitely smart on this show 😁 I miss the 90s
I always wanted to be on this show and wear one of those awesome jackets lol
Hats were cool too.
Omg my childhood !
I only remember the cartoon show in the late 90s, didn't even exist when this came out xD
Wish I could've seen it when it was originally on. It was cancelled and replaced by "Where In Time" the year I was born.
They don't make shows like this anymore!!
Amen, brother!
Love the show
I love this show
Second half of my childhood once I moved to Canada
I thought this was "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?" Cuz it's stuck inside my head
I remembered this show. I was like 3 at the time. shit I feel old lol
Miss Tiffany L how do you think I feel? I was 10.
I remember when my dad & I stopped Carmen from stealing the Declaration of Independence in the 1996 game Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego when I was a kid, that was the first time I caught Carmen.
Such a great show! Thank you so much for posting these memories. Also: Where is the equivalent of this for today's kids?
I think this was the first episode I ever saw. I was in third grade at the time.
As a kid, I noticed the pattern with the answers.
Elaborate?
Evil Ways by Santana.

Rockapella stole the show😉
When I did my imitation of Mrs. Pumpkinclanger's voice, my sister says that I sounded like Jessie of Team Rocket from Pokemon.

Cringe! I can believe I used to watch this. Lmao
Lol look at those prizes I wanted so bad!! Yikes! I also wanted a jacket! I learned and forgot a lot from this show, I loved it!
