I'll play Battletech or Alpha Strike any day of the week. Working with a green mech commander I've got him trying out Alpha Strike. 15 min in he is having fun moving, shooting, and actually playing a board game. Alpha Strike is perfect for the young guns.
I agree with you that I'm happy to play Battletech as my primary game system, we have a few new players into the group now and took to it like ducks to water 😎 I can see Alpha Strike getting new players feet wet before they delve into Classic. Have a great day
@@Helcarexe26 Exactly it is great to bring new players into the game. Also as you mentioned the mechs are universal across multiple systems without modification. Thank you for your hard work on your channel.
Would have been nice for Catalyst to ship these to retailers in Australia , as it is it's wait till the end of Feburary maybe or pay 100 dollaridoos plus to get it shipped from US stockists . The biggest thing holding BattleTech back is their inability or unwillingness to stock it regularly outside the USA . For example im still waiting on 3 IS heavy battle lances I ordered over 6 months ago .......... I cant state enough how my Confederation Reserve Cavalry being sans Cataphracts is pissing me off .
The prices paid for goods in AU is a pain in the behind for sure, its a problem to be sure with them trying to build an outside of USA fan base. Ordering items and waiting for them to cross the pond via slow boat is hard to swallow when said items are closer from china
@@SimonCoulton Holly crap that's more than I spent on the last kickstarter alone! I can see why you wouldn't want to spend that money, I'd go the 3D printer route and save the money.
glad to hear that I'm not the only one that bought this for everything other than the rules. while Alpha strike is interesting in concept, it's battletech dumbed down IMO. I'll continue to play standard battletech with 2nd ed Mechwarrior. Alpha strike, A Time of War and Destiny are well made products. but useless for me. they are a poor attempt to reinvent the wheel of battletech. but, if those systems work for you, then they are a success!
I think that the boxset might be good for getting individuals into the BT universe, but only as a shadow the the original version. Love the miniatures for what they can add to the faction lineup
It's an amazing value box!
Yes it is and I'm tempted to get another one just for the mechs
That is an awesome box of mechs mate, hope you have a great 2023
Happy new year! A good value in the boxset
Yes sir, Brad loves those Wraiths!
I have a funny feeling, they we'll sell them singles
I get that he wants a few more for the force he's building

I do like the Wraith. Would have liked another few mechs in it to be different as well.
The Wraith is a good mech for what it was designed for in the battle, they might add it to a box sometime in the future.
@@Helcarexe26 That would be cool.
Battletech = Chess
Alpha Strike = Checkers
Both can be entertaining but one has alot more depth when it comes to strategy.
Strategy no, tactics maybe.
I do like being able to throw down an entire company of Death Commandos
I agree with you with OG BT has a lots of tactical depth and its easy to drop a company of mechs or vehicles on a side and play.

I looked to get some stuff shipped from Catalyst yesterday, 2 forcepacks, it was $198AUD just for shipping. Instant loss of a sale :(

I hope they have singles of wiath mechs.
Yeh GL with that personally im tired of buying the Game of Armoured Combat to get Awesomes and Catapults ........I stopped at 5
I'd like the idea of just making a single mech purchase that I want, but I've heard that they can only sell them in box with other mechs.
@@mathewkelly9968 lol,u could buy singles at Chinese market on ebay
