I like my Cavalries. They have been in my Fedsun/Fedcom line-up for an age. I recommend getting this VTOL as it is flexible. Back in the day SRM-2’s used to be the only dispenser for inferno SRM’s. Using inferno’s in this VTOL is common making it a good tank and battle armor hunter. Nowadays I consider tandem charge ammo for the SRM-6 and infernos. I have used smoke for the SRM-2’s one time and it was pretty good for clouding pulse lasers, but you may do the same by setting fires for with infernos.
I have used the LRM-10 and TAG variant as a long-ranged smoke mortar with a fair outcome but I should have taken NARC or Semi-guided for that game. Never tried thunder rounds in the LRM variant. I will give that a shot for a game.
I have used the Infantry model once. Three of the infantry variants and one basic model in a VTOL air lance. Jump infantry SRM and Gauss troopers fit in the 3.5-ton troop compartment. I have no regrets using base jump infantry. Only considering next time taking two SRM platoons instead of gauss rifle because of range. The MG’s were useful setting fires and at the end of the game only had one VTOL left. I had issues hitting targets with the medium lasers with skill 4 gunners. Under advanced rules a squad of Achileus, Kage, or Kobold light battle armor may fit in the same compartment for 3 tons.

This can be a very useful vehicle in the game, lots of options available for causing disruption in the rear areas. I really like the idea of having 6 SRM2 launchers on it. Being able to saturate the target with SRM hits or lighting them up with fire is very appealing. The LRM10 seems to work best with a Tag or is some cases using smoke or Thunder ammo. If you know that there's going to be a choke point on the table, throwing down a large minefield is a great option.

The threat of sudden flying SRM carrier is the reason why AA vehicles exist. That Rifleman is very suddenly going to earn it`s keep. It`s variants are practical niches that come up in combined arms scenarios.

Having a flying SRM Carrier zipping around the battlefield is a very appealing prospect 😎👍 It totally makes sense to have at least one anti-air asset on the tabletop for dealing with them

I have to try a lance of these. I like mix of long or medium range weapons. Then just short.

I agree with you having a LRM version or two would be worth having for firesupport than just a short ranged version

    I claim three SRM 4s 😅

Having three SRM4 launchers is another option that is better than having two different launchers on the vehicle
