This is really heartbreaking because insted of lecturing her, Kiryu was happy that she's safe. Now that's a true parent/guardian.
Very true!
@Aloysius Hiedler More like adopted daughter, but yes.
@Kiryu Kazuma Bruh moment
Wait, what are you doing here?
@Kiryu Kazuma well ya see theres this guy named Ichiban
She deserved to be sprayed with an uzi.

Haruka: Um... Yuta-kun is a good guy.
Kiryu: I know, Haruka... But I still did my parental duty of punching him through a glass door.
Lol!

Wonder what Ryo would do.
@@ReijiArisu1211 Ryo as in, Saeba Ryo from City Hunter?
@@manuvirajkhare Obviously. Who Else ?
Imagine a City Hunter game by the Yakuza studio. A man can dream.
Kiryu has faced gangsters, street punks, and fought in underground tournaments. But now he faces his biggest challenge yet. Being a grandfather.
Haha true and I've seen people like that in real life who can do the most extreme things but struggle with the challenges of parenting or grandparenting.
@@BAIGAMING Yeah. Parenthood is the greatest challenge of all. Makes extreme sports look easy at times.
yakuza: like a grandfather
When a man like Kiryu cries, then everyone can
True
@Choc Kiryu and where else did kiryu cry. I've never played Yakuza series but i am pretty sure this is the only instance where he cry and it would be a great help if you can tell me so that i can correct my understanding of masculinity. To me what men tear are the emotion that are just too much (wether it's happy or sad) that they couldn't hold it anymore. And they would cry with composure in front of people (to say that he's still in control of himself) rather than the disorderly mess that they do when he's by himself.
@Choc Kiryu thank you
Crying is manly
Beat Takeshi prolly my fave char in this game. But first gotta be Haruto
Haruka can make Kiryu cry!
Majima can make Kiryu smile!
Really? Didn't notice that.
Haha true
Well her and Tachibana
mankey her and kazama
I was SOOOO sad that Majima as well as Daigo and Saejima only made two or three appearances in Yakuza 6
It's not just that this is Haruka. This goes all the way back to how Kiryu sacrificed everything to protect Nishiki. I bet everytime he looks as Haruka he also sees everything that transpired with Yumi.
Haruka isn't just his daughter at heart, she is his life considering how this started.
And in a way, Kiryu knows how Haruka should be his daughter that never came to be cause of his own Jailtime and the Jingu fiasco.
Good points, the series really came so far.
Haruka also took on Yumi and Jingu's traits. For Yumi, she tried to hide from men who are after her child. For Jingu, she tried to hide a secret that the media threatened to expose, leading to a destructive chain effect.
Kiryu would remove himself from the picture if he thought it would protect those he cares about. Haruka did the same. In the end, she really was Kiryu's daughter.
Very true!
Well. Kiryu did remove himself in Yakuza 5

Looking at it from a big picture perspective: Haruka is so much more than just his daughter. She's his last link to Nishiki, Yumi, and Kazama. She's his last link to who he was before he had to kill his best friend 😭😭

Right can't say the same for Date

I love how the girl in 1:02 just noped the heck out of the screen after seeing they're filming for some Yakuza game
Haha yep, the cutscenes in the new Yakuza games, Judgment etc have this, they make cutscenes in-engine on random streets and make a barrier around them where the NPCs will randomly turn around.
@@BAIGAMING that's pretty cool! It gives the game some kind of real movie vibes!
One theory I have about the reunion with haruka is that it reminds him of nishki and that's why he drops it so fast.
Last time he couldn't be there for for one, they'd changed for the worst and kiryu had to watch his best friend die. Then in this game, he hears haruka ran away and hears how she got in with a small Yakuza family and even had a child. Kiryu might've started worrying that history was repeating himself and it terrified him. But then he sees that's she hasn't changed and so he doesn't have to worry and I doesn't have to lose someone else. Just my theory.
You make excellent points, I like your theory!
what's sadder is that he wanted to suicide if haruka died
I kind of wish haruka finally called kiryu "dad". Kind of the only thing missing to bring it all together
Huh good observation I didn't notice she never used that word, I don't remember hearing her say oji-san.
@@BAIGAMING 12:00
At least we have more Yakuza games coming soon to have that chance
@@coolmade2000if Kiryu decides to reveal himself. Especially if he has to tell her he has cancer on top of that.
really hope she does at the end of 8, assuming kiryu beats cancer
Haruka ran off to prevent any more media backlash to come to the orphanage. Being young, she made decisions that lead to mistakes while out there in the world alone. However, we all know Haruka has always been mature for her age.
Unlike most young people, she wasn't afraid to take responsibility. She dedicated her life to her child. She took on the role of "mother" and risked her life so her son could have a chance to live. Yuta, who is a few years older than her, was hesitant to face responsibility than her.
Haruka is one of the strongest female characters in the Yakuza series. She was more in control of her life than Kazuma and it makes me sad so many people began hating her after this game.
I agree with your points, I've seen this kind of thing happen in real life and I'm happy the game portrayed it realistically and maturely.
For me it's more I hate her choice in men like of all people she ends up having a kid with Yuta. Like Yuta is fine but not even close to being worth someone like Haruka. It also dosen't help that all of this feels like it came straight out of left field.
@@kingoflions827 *SUPER LONG COMMENT AHEAD. GO TO END FOR TL;DR.*
I get what you mean. There were so many different directions the writers could have taken the plot of this game, but for what they actually gave us, I think it was executed well.
To be honest, I think it's difficult to even imagine that a man "deserving" of Haruka who is her age could ever exist 😂 The amount of suffering, responsibility, and experiences in general that she had to go through since childhood could never match up with a decent, yakuza-unaffiliated guy's. Yuta shares a lot of the same pain Haruka went through as a kid - being thrown away by a biological parent, his mere existence being the center of a criminal conflict, etc... Really the only difference between Haruka and Yuta that I can think of is the fact that Yuta didn't have someone like Kiryu to guide him properly. I guess that's where his new life with Haruka and Haruto comes in.
Haruka needs someone who can understand the things life has thrown at her. We already know from past games that she was incredibly lonely as a child simply due to growing up so quickly. The only person who could genuinely interact with her on a truly equal level was Kiryu. As far as I know, Yuta can also achieve that. I think I'd go as far as to say that Yuta's character is supposed to mirror Kiryu's in some select ways, as well. He's well on his way to becoming just as good of a man as Kiryu.
*TL;DR:* I think Haruka and Yuta make a good match. Haruka has always needed someone who could truly understand her and the pain she's gone through. Yuta fits this bill quite nicely :P
@@holly9096 hmmm you bring up some interesting points that I never considered also yea I can't really imagine a 'fitting man' for Haruka either. My dislike for Yuta stems mostly from him being someone who is comparatively spineless and who shirks responsibility totally unlike Haruka but I guess it's unfair of me to think that way since he never had a strong parental figure like Haruka did. I guess there differences can compliment each other. Still kinda salty that she didn't end up with someone who can compare to Kiryu but matching up to the Dragon of Dojima is pretty much impossible
I can never EVER hate Haruka. Haruka isn't just one of the strongest female characters in the Yakuza series, she's one of the strongest female characters in ALL of gaming........However, I still felt that her character could've been handled better in Yakuza 6. At the end of Yakuza 5, she realized that she wasn't going to be truly happy being an idol, and being with her family is what would make her happy. She stood on the biggest stage in Japan, and told the entire country how much she was proud to be the surrogate daughter of Kiryu, a former Yakuza. Yet, at the beginning of Yakuza 6, all it took was a few internet posts, and she immediately regretted coming home. That didn't make a lot of sense, because if she was worried about public image, she never would've did what she did at the Japan Dome. She would've just retired quietly after the concert. Also her leaving the kids in the middle of the night, as well as lying to Ayako saying that she was going to live near Kiryu was completely out of character for her. Not to mention, eventually severing all contact with them after being gone for a while. That's not the Haruka I know.
Then she goes to Onomichi, meets Yuta, I guess eventually falls in love with him, and has Haruto. I say 'I guess' is because their relationship is never expounded upon throughout the game. They only show one scene with him beating the shit out of a paparazzi for stalking her, and that's it. There should've been A LOT more scenes with them together, showing their relationship progress. I'm not suggesting anything graphic, but at least show them showing affection with each other with hugging/kissing. Because they didn't do that, it just looks weird that Haruka would just randomly fall in love with someone, sleep with them unprotected, and have a child (which Yuta doesn't know about until much later). Once again, that seems very out of character for her, especially since she just came from the seedy underworld of being a pop idol. Then later on in the game when she reunites with Yuta and Haruto after waking up, you still don't see much affection from them. It doesn't come off as two people who love each other, and have a child together.
Sorry if this comment was too long for some. After playing through all of the games in 2020, Yakuza is now my favorite gaming series, and I just love discussing about it with others. Like I said, I will never hate Haruka (and whoever does is completely clueless), but a lot of her actions in Yakuza 6 were just way out of character for her.

Agreed! This was a great plot event that they really handled well and made realistic, unlike other silly plot events in old Yakuza games like "rubber bullets".

I finished the game and the series two days ago and i still come here to watch heartbreaking cutscenes to be even more heartbroken, like i know the ending but i still brought myself here, that the primary reason i can't bring myself to replay games my heart won't be able to handle experiencing the Kazuma saga again, watching Haruka grow from a 8 year old to a mother was such an amazing experience honestly.
Kazuma tears.. 😭 make me wanna cry maann!

Watching Haruka grow up from Yakuza to Yakuza 6 was one of the best part in my life when I played the game. This game isn't even my choice at the beginning. I argue with my big bro when he pick the Yakuza rather than Warriors Orochi for PS2. But when I start playing this game. I thought it's just about street fights and crime but then Haruka showed up.
Yeah I played it since the old days too, I was happy to see how big Yakuza became and it had good plotlines except rubber bullets. Same with the Witcher, started out as such a low-budget bargain bin game but then boom it exploded in popularity with its sequels.

This is where really Yakuza 6 shines, it gaves us a emotional conclusion to Kiryu and Haruka's journey.

I still think Haruka should be the next protagonist. They should give us a cutscene of a time-jump or something of Kiryu training her after 6 and during the time of Like A Dragon, and after Ichiban's games we'd play as her. That'd be so freaking awesome.
It gets even sadder when you realize that "Today is a diamond" is kiryus song to harkua
"Video games are violent"
I guess crying after seeing a fictional girl you treated as a daughter and cared for so much still alive after an accident is violent :/
Well... We still get back to breaking bones and shredding people against the pavement after this
"Am i... Putting you in danger again?"
Kiryu: "Nah, Haruka, we talked about this, the Tojo Clan is useless, god forbid they learn to solve their own problems and some punk wants to fight me, the usual, they think they are Ryuji, Yaioy's plan of leaving Daigo in charge might not have been the best"
Haruka: "What about Majima-san?'
Kiryu: "You kidding? They can't handle him, the last time they tried, Sohei Dojima almost got killed"
So true lol. I love the series, but incompetence is the only way to drive its plot forward.
@@dadkwashere The Matsugane Family only got so far in Judgement because the Tojo Clan was still suffering from what happened in 6 and in 7 they apparently lost to the Omi because of another betrayal and the Bleach Japan movement is putting the screws on both.
But how did he know that Sohei Dojima was almost killed by Majima?
Definitely did not help that the members of the clan are constantly trying to take over the clan by trying to get Daigo killed or actually kill their own leaders so they can take over.

That just shows that Kiryu loves Haruka. Usually when a parent/guardian gets back in touch with their loved one after somethings happened, they'll be quick to drop whatever issue happened and want to be with them, because... they wouldn't want to lose them.
True. It's like when a child does something bad but could've gotten hurt too and the parent makes sure to ask "Are you okay?" before even thinking about punishment.
It's especially important in Kiryu's case, because, he's already lost Haruka once before. He is not wanting to lose her again.
I've never even played one of these games, just came from the scene where he slapped her. But damn, I'm invested! Ya got the, very tough but VERY caring about those in his family/friends, main character, and then the, I'm assuming innocent, but swept up in unfortunate events, kid, that the main OC is a parent/guardian figure to.
I gotta pick these games up, especially since they're sega products, and I love sega a ton.
Oh yeah you need to, play through the whole thing! My parents and siblings even used to watch me play it because it's like an Asian drama. I played through Yakuza 1 to 7 (7 is unnumbered, called Like A Dragon). I'd recommend playing Yakuza 0 after Yakuza 5 (real-life release date order, 0 is a prequel BUT I don't think it's a good starting point personally). You can play Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 in place of Yakuza 1 and 2 because they're one-to-one remakes. I'm bombarding you with info, but basically play in this order: Yakuza Kiwami 1, Yakuza Kiwami 2, 3, 4, 5, 0, 6, Like A Dragon. I've been playing it since 3 released on the PS3 a decade ago or so. I never played the feudal Japan or zombie spinoffs of Yakuza though.
