I like how in this painting shes out in the snow instead of in the castle. This added detail really shows that she did care for her people and her daughter, but too in pain to move on from the sad passing of her husband. So instead of letting herself be found by guards, her child, or her subjects she went out to the snow one last time.
Oh this looks so good!!! Also I love the detail of her cradling her heart while she has her wedding band on, like it implies Shining died so she carved her heart out of her chest to join him.
I find it awesome that after all these years, you’re still drawing MLP stuff. Gen 4 was my childhood, including your art haha. The improvement is phenomenal. Also, I like how there’s a background this time, with her surrounded by snow. Essentially it implies she went out in the middle of a blizzard where no one would find her, so she could die alone. Tragic stuff man.
The original work was one of my favorites back in the day, and seeing it revisited so beautifully is such a gift to me. You could say it warms my heart. I edited this since my single word comment was more a placeholder so I would remember to come back and write a bit nicer with the same amount of enthusiasm. STILL CHEERING FOR THE UPLOAD!!
This is such a good piece per usual. I love her curly hair and you always draw wings so perfectly... that among other things; the light from her horn, the blood on the ground, her ripped out heart, and the blur on the sides... too good.
This is why I hate alicorns being immortal, all of there loved ones die before them leaving them alone Ex-Twilight’s friends, shining armor etc. I know this isn’t canon but still it’s so sad thinking about it. Going through a loss like that and still Having to be a princess is so horrid. The art is very beautiful aside from that dark story. She looks so fluffy.
