She sounds so very German, you wouldn't know she was Jewish unless she told you. She was so eloquent and well spoken, and soft spoken. What a lovely woman, and a lovely smile. I feel very fortunate to have been able to hear her story. I'm so tickled she lived to be 106 years old.
@@atlanticsender you dont get out much do you? keep watching you tube, you'll figure out what jewish and yiddish sounds like. in the meantime, keep moving, you troll.
The volume on my phone was not that good. I enjoyed listening to her . She had a pretty smile and it was a delight to hear her testimony. ❤❤❤❤Anne Abraham😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Absolutely stunning! A marvelous storyteller! And in wonderful English too. Thank you. I thorougly enjoyed it. (But I had to listen carefully it is so weak!)
whata a lovely lady...loved her smile...impish!...lol i was engrossed in her story...an dshe lives near me in suffolk UK..id love to talk to her she was mesmerising.
I can totally relate to this woman's childhood......my mother was 48 when I was born and my dad was 49. Also interesting though....the dad tells her mother that someone stole all their money at the shop.........and they he dies of "stomach cancer" not long after that. Arsenic and cyanide poison were easy to obtain and hard to trace. Sorry, I'm a crime detective by heart, and a lot of women offed their husbands this way in the early 1900's. Just makes you stop and wonder. What a remarkable story teller, and lovely woman xo

I really see different things. She was self- absorbed and couldn't see that she ignored people's feelings. She was bored a lot, seeing her way as the only way. She did experience a great deal, and she felt badly about her Mom. But she was always number 1. Good thing she went to Yugoslavia and Israel, then England. Someone like her wouldn't have survived any ghetto or camp. She does speak of her entire family dying, but she talks of them being old and without knowledge. Her concept of Nazism and how European Jewry was greatly harmed seems to be beyond her realm. I am thinking she has a mild case of autism, that she isn't deliberately without feeling. But she came across as cold to me. She was interesting to listen to, but this wasn't someone I would ever want to be friends with. She is right. She had no concept of Judaism, of Mitzvahs and feelings for other people. Her values are quite different. I understand she has died just a few years ago. Unfortunately, she leaves a legacy of this tape. It doesn't represent her well.
Agree with every word, as a granddaughter of Hassidic holocaust survivors, I was preturbed by the way she described Hassidim in Berlin being mentally poor, when I know that this culture different from wetern culture, but anything but mentally poor
Could barely hear her on the highest level of my iPhone. Such a pity - after all these people have been through. We can put a man on the moon but we can’t figure out the simpleness of electronics to gather critical testimony of Jewish life preceding World War II and after . WW11.
I have watched many of these fascinating and sad interviews. When i read the replies and your name lloyd kennedy i know i will read another of your idiotic remarks. You make no sense. Do you realise how silly that sounds? What does Jewish sound like, one wonders..

Videos more important now than ever. Thank you Mr Spielberg for these testimonials.
Amazing woman! Excellent interview, thank you for your testimony.
Mrs Armstrong has passed away at the age of 106 in 2021.
What a lovely lady! Very interesting story!
And she has a beautiful smile.☺
What tremendous self-insight. And as all of these accounts, it's positively mesmerizing to listen to.
She seems so sweet, and a beautiful smile and voice. x
This is one of the few times I've heard a survivor describe Jewish settlers in Jerusalem as 'terrorists'. Thank you for your honesty.
What's with the volume?
The same on all of them unfortunately

Absolutely true, I think so too
What happened to Walter?
Breslau is the German name of Wrocław nowadays in Poland. Not Bratislava.
?.
You are exactly right !
I think the lady just mixed up the name with the ancient one which was Vratislava

Bit too lacking in humility for me. Her way or the highway. SORRY.
Happy she lived a long life.
