I've been thinking about this for a while. The acquisition of KAT is similar to the Lakers trading for Pau Gasol back in 2008. Pau was considered a good shooting PF/C combo player with good numbers, but people questioned his toughness in Memphis, despite excellent play. Having KAT be your defensive anchor, but just a role playing efficient scorer, is taking him back to his college days, where he showed Anthony Davis like potential. It wouldnt surprise me if KAT's defense take a HUGE jump because his agility and athleticism are prototypical for a Thibs defense (think Noah or Hartenstein).
What is giving me optimism is that everyone is defensively attentive and there is size and athleticism. Fast break points are always the easiest but this squad has a player that can go off at any time in the half court set
