I mean, after the Spec II update, a lot of things that most people play the GT series for (usually thats Single Player and climbing the ladder through Single Player) has gotten better. Custom Races now give better payouts, Weekly Challenges allow people to attempt the races they skipped over or even race a fun event they enjoyed, the Master License tests are the challenge that most people wanted from the Tests and the new course, Lake Louise, is a fun snow circuit that gives me the vibe of an Olympic snow course turned into a circuit. GT7 got its much needed revive with the new update.
I loved gt4. I started a new campaign of it last year and I’m at 74% completion. But I think gt5 was the game I had the most play time on growing up. The availability of online play was awesome and it was a nice polished game with more fun cars than before. I really liked how they had premium vehicles and standard variants so I could still play cars from the older game. I liked gt6 too, basically the same game though. Sport was super fun and the graphics and vehicle dynamics blew me away. I loved the manufacture series races and made sure I always raced them! I haven’t tried 7, bought a pc instead of a ps5. Still kicking myself for that one!
Gran turismo has gotta be one of very few games where you can feel the passion and love behind the game, it has great polish and sticks true to being “the real driving simulator”
Not to mention that the game is so long that you can be really good at it and still have plenty of things to unlock or to finish after over 1000 hours of playing. I am at about 97% of complection of the game after over 1500 hours spent. Still missing over 1/3 of the cars, still I have about 8 endurance races left and a few licence tests not on gold.
Wholeheartedly agree. I mean, pre Spec II update, I did find SOME enjoyment from the game, but the credits issues were apparent whenever I missed a new car in the Legends dealership or even the Used Cars lot. Thankfully they fixed that for people who run a lot of Custom Races.

It's a fine racing game. It's a shit Gran Turismo game. The worst part about it is it had the ingredients to be one of if not the best in the series and they fucked it up. Why couldn't they just make GT7 with it's physics, graphics etc and combine it with a career and progression like GT4. That was all they had to do. It wasn't hard. They got the hard bits right, and then completely fucked up the easy part.
The movie scapes of GT7 are a real thing of beauty its just a shame you can't develop your own music instead of set tunes that play on a loop. Buying GT7 has lit another fire under my butt its helped me find my passion for sims again and just to be clear here I haven't played a racing sim since back on Forza Motorsport 4 on the Xbox 360. I was a player of the early GT games like on the early PS models of console. They have come a long way since. I not long ago bought the Lambo V12 VGT and what a hyper car it is im pretty surprised that they don't have the Super Bollide tbh by Bugatti, or have they? Im not sure I've only had the game close to a month so im not sure but I also have my sights set on the Valkyrie by Aston Martin.

Okay here is my opinion: Most games in the series are 10/10 meaning not that they are perfect, but that this is the kind of game you can play for years and get entertained. Just like most Forza Motorsport games are, or Enthusia Professional Racing is. It's a very unique niche. My list goes like that: 1. GT2 - for me the best one, perfect balance of arcade and sim, great music, great artstyle, great car and track selection. Great addition with ability to set 3 diferernt fov setups, and two modes of how chase cam can work (i don't mean the close up, and further one, but the type of chase cam choosen in the menus, first one being standard, second one awesome for drifting). 2. Gran Turismo 3 - For me the best looking racing game, unique driving model that seems the easiest, but has some real depth to it, also while it has small for the series car selection, the game feels very finished. 3. Gran Turismo 5 - the scope of GT4 with even better driving model. I love the leveling system becasue it makes the campaign not as easy to cheese through. Slighlty wore in terms of game performance but still awesome. Also the chase cam while still stiff as in GT4, is somehow much more "responsive" and actually works great. 4. GT4 - a masterpiece, but it has strangely behaving stiff chase cam (not an issue when emulating thanks to modders), and it's MILES better on logitech wheels, to a point it feels like a different title. Suspension is a bit stiff also. Amazing game, still no doubt 10/10 but in 6th gen i prefered GT3, Forza Motorsport and Enthusia Profesional Racing. 5. GT 1 - an incredible game, that has some archaic elements to it but it's overall just pure awesomness with one of the best art designs ever. Bit closer to 9.5/10 just because of limmited amout of tracks and races. 6. GT 7 - better GT Sport. Main campaing could be much better, but still good. Driving model a bit too realistic while still not as real as Project Cars 2 or Assetto Corsa. Wouldn't give this one 10/10. 7. GT Sport - when updated really good game, campaing feels undercooked but it's multiplayer was legendary. Below 10/10 but still awesome 8. GT 6 - it would be an amazing game but it has 3 main issues. First one is it's horrible performance, with frames all over the place, screen tearing and so on. I can easly play GT1 and GT2 on original hardware but this one gaves me headaches. Second being that the races are all just catching up to opponents. They feel like driving missions not races, and it's abysmal on shorter races. Third one is just poor artstyle - menus lost it's uniqe style where every championship had it's own graphics and so on. On the bright side - it's like GT5 but with AMAZING simulation of suspension and weight transfer. Not 10/10 because of first two issues. 9. GT PSP - impressive game but for me very stupid direction. The game physics are great... but not for the psp which lacks any means of analogue gas/break (even since the first game you could use right analogue stick to apply these). The game looks great-ish, but maybe it would be better to go with simpler but stylized graphics and add more cars on track? The "campaign" is abysmal, with grind being only feature, and the lack of classic car dealership means you never know how many races to do. Also the choosen fov means there is NO sense of speed at all. And why the hell they even bothered with dark cockpit view... What they should do was to take more arcadey GT2 as a base, improve a little on graphics, add whatever cars and tracks they wanted and make new carrer. Waste of potential - a boring grind with little soul to it. At best 7/10, but really more like 5/10.
