They chose the actors who will play the younger versions of the main characters so well and I don't know how they got it so wrong with the actress playing Mahidevran.... She doesn't resemble her at all.
They all saw how nasty, greedy and evil Mahidevran was during that time, yet they allowed her to continue to be respected and treated far better than Hurrem, even when Hurrem became the official wife. That makes no sense to me, because surely seeing how horrid she is should have made a difference in her treatment.
